Chapter 42 - CHAPTER 41

"Hey, everything alright?" Trinity asked her mate and the twins. She had noticed them sitting and talking, with a serious face and she felt something was off. Due to the music and laughter she couldn't hear what they were talking about.

The air was tensed and she felt a strange tightness in her chest. There was something up with Tyrone, but what?

"Yeah, just talking!" Tyrone said, but one look from his company, he decided it was really time to talk with his mate. "Can we talk outside?" He asked, his amber eyes meeting her brown ones.

"Yeah, sure," Trinity felt his urgency. They walked outside, so that their conversation wouldn't be disturbed by the loud noise.

"What's up?" Trinity asked, as they sat on the bench outside in the garden.

"There's something I wanted..." "Trinity?" Dorin's voice rang through the air, disturbing the couple. "I thought I saw you come here! Do you have a minute?"

"Uumm m..."

"Sure," Tyrone answered. "We can talk later."

"You sure?" She asked her mate, as she felt the tightness in her chest increase. She knew Tyrone was in some kind of inner conflict, that was weighing him down.

"Of course. You speak to Dorin now, and we'll talk afterwards." For the first time, his reply didn't seem genuine. It was like he wanted to hold her tight and pour his heart out to her, but at the same time, didn't want to offend her mother.

She pressed his hand, then slowly got up and followed her mother inside. The further she went from her mate, the more uneasy she felt.

"Rin, there's something important I have to share with you," Dorin said as they sat at the chair in the porch.

"Yeah, what is it?"

"There's a legend, passed down through all of us witches. Alexandra cursed the first dragon, Ryphonsus, to roam the earth in human form... " "Yeah, I heard it... he killed Alexandra's only daughter and was cursed by her to turn into a human, and only the wielder of all elements can defeat him," Trinity told her mother.

"Yes, and we cannot locate her. It's like she doesn't exist!" There was a desperation in Dorin's voice, more like a silent plea.

"So... what can I do?"

"Look Rin.. I'm sure you won't like what I'm going to say... but please don't go into battle with him. I can't lose you!" The blue eyed woman pleaded.

"Mom... I know you love me and don't want me to get hurt... but if we don't fight, I'll be dead anyways."

"What? What do you mean?"

"Mom, Ryphonsus wants me; dead or alive. That only means he will kill me because I'm the reason he got exposed. The reason his reputation went down. He won't leave me." Trinity said, feeling the weight of her words.

"Rin..." "Mom, don't trust me. Don't trust the dragon in me. But trust the witch in me. We will win this; we have to." The last line came out more like a convincing line. Who was she trying to convince, her mother or herself?

"We will do everything we can together and we will win this!" Dorin said with confidence.

This was the first real conversation between the mother and daughter, without a fight.

As the afternoon rolled in, Patrick got ready to take Derek to a hotel that he had booked for a week, and Annabelle was given another hotel room in the same resort, as a free vacation for a week. As they got ready to leave, Patrick hugged his wife, asking, "Honey, are you sure you don't need me around? You know I can leave Derek under Anna's care.."

"I'm sure! If you stay, I will have a distraction... and I cannot keep worrying about you two." She knew that even if Derek was left under Annabelle, as a mother she'd be worried sick about him, but Patrick was his father and he will look after their son and protect him from everything.

Trinity hugged Patrick and tears flowed freely from her eyes. "Take care, dad!"

Dorin, Derek and Patrick gasped in shock. This was the first time in almost eleven years that Trinity had called Patrick 'dad'. She had always resented him for separating her father from her, and as time went, the hate grew, and she always called him by name. But here she was, calling him dad.

"I know what you're thinking, I never realized that I always had a father in front of me, and when all this is over, I want us to be a family, no matter where we are..." Trinity clarified. Hugged the short, blue eyed man tightly. Derek and Dorin also joined in the family hug. All crying tears of happiness.

The short man's car sped off in the distance, taking three people in it.

No one knows the outcome of this war, but they had hope. Good always prevails over evil.

"Ty... sorry we couldn't talk!" Trinity said, as she saw him standing deep in thought.

He had seen things that, if they came true, might not go as everyone expects. The good thing though is that... "Ty?"

"Yeah?" He snapped out of his thoughts as Trinity waved her hand in front of him. "Trin, what happened?"

"I thought perhaps we could talk now?"

"I love you Trinity, I want to have a small wedding by the lake with our close family and friends and dance the night away..."

Trinity felt something off about the way he was talking, like he meant every word, but he spoke as if it's just a dream, and will remain a dream. Why was he talking like something terrible was about to happen?

Something inside of her ached. The pain was unbearable. Tyrone, her mate was hurting. "I always wanted our first born to have my eyes and your hair... and her name to be something related to water and fire... but I know you will name her Aquamarine Oceans." "Woah woah Woah... hold up! What do you mean? Our daughter? Aquamarine? What's going on?"

"Trinity, just know, I've never been happier in my life. Whatever happens, just know you're the most amazing...and annoying person I've ever met..."He said smiling. Then with a serious expression, looked up at the sky, and said, "They're coming! We have to warn the others." He looked at Trinity, and with a nod, they both ran inside.

The war that started a week ago, was now at their door, but where was Taylor? Neither him nor his men were anywhere in sight. If they are not joined by the knights soon, their chances at winning will be nil.
