As Tyrone flew out, he had one goal; to help Trinity win this battle, and he knew exactly what to do.
Twilight was approaching, but he knew better. This was only a plan to make his friends feel happy at the thought that the fight is about to be over, whereas it was only past midnight.
Marcus was the real mastermind behind all this. The minute they let their guards down is the minute that spineless monster will attack.
Since Marcus was a real magician, he can do real tricks like making objects appear out of thin air, change the weather, make it look like something was there, when in fact it wasn't. A good example would be when the Dragon Lord was cornered by the knights a very long time ago. They were at war and humans had joined forces with the knights to get rid of all these monstrosity once and for all. Only Marcus and his master were there but the tall thin man was able to create realistic dragons at the side, to create the illusion that backup was coming, and without thinking twice, Nigel King's men began panicking. This small distraction was enough for the mighty beast to break free from the shackles and attack the knights, killing their leader and harming many others.
The surprise on their faces was great, as they saw the 'backup' disappear as Ryphonsus flew off.
Since Marcus spoke to them on the porch at the beginning of all this, no one had seen him. He is a weak fighter, who wouldn't last a minute on the battlefield, so he was creating this illusion. He thought of mindlinking his mate, but then he saw him! The beast that took everything from him! He knew what will happen if he went to face him head on, but there was no other choice.
Taking a deep breath, he flew toward the dark, snake like figure high above them, lurking in the shadows.
Drake was able to catch Ryphonsus off guard as he sprayed water at his head, making him lose his balance. "You want to fight? Then here I am. Fight me you lizard!" The brown dragon taunted the massive black dragon, that was twice his size.
Gaining his posture the black head swinged toward him, and relaxed. "I thought it was some strong dragon that could actually hurt me. But it's just you!" It spat back, making Drake angrier.
"Before you die, tell me why?" Drake was fuming, as the air around then became freezing cold.
"Why what?" The black dragon was unfazed by the changes in the air around him. He was used to all this... anger, hurt, blaming... the more frustrated the opponent, the more likely they'll make a mistake, hence his victory.
"Why'd you kill them?"
"I've killed a lot of people, humans and dragons alike, so you have to be specific."
"Why did you kill my parents, and Triyast?"
"Oh them! I didn't want you to be born," he said without any emotion. "I didn't know that snake had gotten preg...." Before he could complete his sentence, Drake had attacked with a fierce blow of water right at his face, followed by trying to grip the black dragons wing, but after the splash of the cool liquid on his face, he was careful and moved out of the way, pushing the brown dragon from the side.
Soon fire and water raged at each other, Drake trying to duck under the massive figure in front of him so he could do some damage, but it was clear that this old dragon knew battle strategy.
Each time Drake tried to get under the black dragon, aiming for the heart, the Dragon Lord quickly flew backwards, hitting the brown dragon with its tail.
It was clear who was winning, as Drake spat out blood from his mouth, his legs hurt, his head had a throbbing pain, and now, he was trying to survive, and his opponent knew this.
"You know, I was the one who killed Neil with this very claws... you should have seen the horror in his eyes when he realized there was no war... just me and him," Ryphonsus said, as he circled around the brown dragon, knowing fully that it was becoming harder for him to stay in the air. "You are just like him, pathetic!"
His plan worked; the brown dragon, Drake, with every strength left in his body, flew with full force toward the black dragon's throat, only to realize that a sharp pain rose in his chest. More blood oozed out of his mouth, and he felt something sharp peirce his heart. The Dragon Lord's claw was in his chest.
"Did you really think you could defeat me?" The black dragon mocked him.
"N..no.. I...I..couldn't...bu...but I know... know someone...who...who can! The pro..prophecy was never a...about a man," Drake laughed a sad laugh, mocking the massive beast in front of him.
"What do you mean?"
"She was right under... your nose...but you didn't know."
"Who?"
"Alex..."

The throbbing in her heart was too much to bear, as Trinity felt like her heart was wringed like someone wrings out water from wet clothes. This could mean only one thing- Tyrone was in danger; either hurt or...no no no... she cannot assume the worst...
As she scanned the battleground with more precision, something caught her eye... there high above the ground, a black dragon... and a ...no... no no. It cannot be. Drake?
Trying to calm her breathing, Dragonia flew toward them, as fast as her wings could carry her. Her heart pounded with such force that she couldn't hear anything else. Though her eyesight was way better and she could see way clearly even in the dark, with every fibre in her body she wished that she was mistaken, and it wasn't Drake, but some other dragon who just so happens to look exactly like her mate.
Suddenly he was falling! Falling at high speed to the ground. Tyrone. Time stopped for Trinity. Everything else became a blur as the man she loved fell into Dragonia's arms, a hole visible on his chest. She could still hear a faint heartbeat, but she knew he was slipping and fast.
It was as if everyone saw what happened and the fighting paused. Martha, Stacey and Dr Elise, though hurt, came running towards them. Trinity held Tyrone head in her arms and stared, wide eyed at the man she thought would be with her forever.
"Can you do something?" She asked Dr Elise, without taking her eyes off of her mate.
On look at him, and the doctor knew it was too late. By now, Emeralda, Dorin and Meredith had also heard the commotion outside and ran to see what was happening.
The blue eyed, pale girl fell on her knees beside Trinity, crying. "Why?" She asked. "Why did you do this?"
With what little energy he had left, Tyrone turned to her and said, "Because your mate waits for you, Em."
"Trin... name her Aquamarine." With that his entire body became lose and heavy. The faint heartbeat was no more.
