"Yes sir, we found the house they went to. Sending the GPS location to you... now." Taylor put down his phone and stared at a location on his laptop. A smile appeared on his lips. "Got you," he whispered."Did you guys invite someone?" Dorin asked as she came outside, carrying a tray. Everyone looked in the direction she was looking at and saw a black SUV speed off in the opposite direction."I thought I had lost them!" Tyrone exclaimed. "Who?" "They're Mr Kings' men." "Why were they following you?" Martha asked. "How's Eric doing?" Tyrone asked Dorin, ignoring Martha's question. He voice laced with panic. "He's the same, still out," came the reply. "Can you do something to make him better? Like use a spell or something?" Tyrone's voice was desperate, and Trinity felt fear. This was the first time she felt like this... Tyrone was afraid. "Witchcraft does not work like that... I can try, but..." By now, Dorin also felt something different about him. So did everyone else. "Ty? What's going on? You're scaring us!" Emeralda asked, concerned. Her brother also came nearer to their cousin and put his hand on his shoulder. "Eric's full name is Eric King," Tyrone began, and everyone gasped. "He is the son of Nigel King and brother of Taylor King..." "And you know that how?" Trinity asked, studying his face. "I... just know." Tyrone looked away, and for the first time, Trinity felt like he was hiding something from her. "Ty?..." "Mr King will only help us if Eric is okay. If he finds out that he's almost dead..." Tyrone said before Trinity could complete her sentence. "Tyrone, why don't you and Rin have a cup of tea, and we can figure out what to do later. Herbal tea always calms your nerves; Oh, and here's your tea," she said, turning to the twins. "You don't understand..." "Then make us understand! Tell us what's going on!" Trinity exclaimed, feeling angry. "He has one of the largest group of knights working for him. The reason I asked for his help is because the dragon lord doesn't stand a chance against him. I'm afraid that he will start his killing spree with us if he sees the state Eric is in," Tyrone explained. "He is even more ruthless than the dragon lord himself." "And you know this how?" Tyrone looked at his mate, staring into her deep brown eyes. "Trin... I think your mom's right; let's drink some tea before we talk." This answer infuriated her, but she didn't want to disrespect her mate in front of everyone by pushing him to answer her question. Besides, he will tell her when he feels like telling her. Taking a cup of green tea from the tray her mother was still holding, Trinity sat down on a chair and took a sip. "Mom, do you think I can be a warlock when I grow up?" Derek asked as they all sat at the table, having dinner, "Why do you ask that?" Dorin asked, surprised. "Because you're a witch, and Trin will become a witch, so won't I become a warlock?" Everyone at the table either smiled or laughed at such an innocent question. They were having pasta with meatballs and salad and grilled chicken with mashed potatoes. "No honey, you will not become a warlock, or witch, or wizard or anything else. You'll remain a human," Dorin replied. "That's not fair."
Dr. Elise was the first to finish eating, so she excused herself and went to check on the three teens who were still healing. As the others continued eating, Patrick's phone rang, and he excused himself as he took the call. All the dragons at the table froze as they heard the caller introduce himself. It was Mr King. Sensing something off, Dorin asked Trinity, "Honey, is everything alright?" Her eyes darted from this end of the table to the other. "Yeah..." Trinity didn't know what else to add, as everyone looked at each other, listening to the conversation. "Is this Mr Croven?" asked the caller. "Yes, and who am I speaking with?" Patrick asked. "I'm Taylor King. Tyrone and Trinity have met me today, and I believe they are there with you now!" "Yes, they are. Why do you ask?"
"Are there three people with them, Eric, Susan, and Abigail?" "And you want to know this because...?" "I hate beating around the bushes, so I'll come straight to the point. I'm Eric's brother. I had sent them to look for the clue about dragons and if they exist, but they haven't contacted me for almost three days now. I want to know if they are safe... as a matter of fact, I want to meet them," Mr King said sternly. After a pause, Patrick said, "Well, Mr King, they are fine... it's just that they got hurt while getting out of the dungeon..." "Dungeon? What dungeon?" Taylor asked, anger evident in his voice. "I believe Tyrone didn't tell you, and neither did Trinity. I think we should meet... how does tomorrow sound?" "Sounds good. I'll see you at say... ten?" The other man replied in a much calmer tone. "Ten's great. See you then." Saying that, Patrick hung up the phone. He entered the dining room to be met by a confused and angry look from everyone. "What?" He asked, taking his seat. "Why did you do that?" Trinity broke the silence. "Do what?" Patrick asked, wiping the sauce from his mouth with a napkin. "Why did you invite Mr King over?" "You know, it's rude to listen to other people's conversations," Patrick said in a calm voice.
"Bu...." "I invited him because I don't want to get into any sort of legal problems with him," Patrick said, looking at Trinity and the others. "Do you know that he can legally drag us to court on charges of kidnapping, denying medical assistance and unlawfully keeping someone distant from family without their consent? I don't know about you all, but I will not have my name and reputation go down the drain just like that. He has a legal right to see his brother and he's friends, and as an attorney, I cannot break that law."
There was dead silence at the table. "Oh, one more thing," Patrick said, drawing everyone's attention. "You and your friends have to be on the couch before ten am tomorrow." With that he excused himself and went upstairs to his room, leaving everyone at the table baffled.
All they could hope for was that Mr King would understand then and help out.
