Chapter 34 - CHAPTER 33

"Dragonia? What's going on?" Trinity asked her dragon in a confused voice.

Trinity was walking down a narrow path, and with darkness approaching fast, she had to reach her destination as quickly as possible.

Very soon, she couldn't see clearly, and in what little light the silver moon provided, she saw a familiar figure sitting in her path, blocking it. Dragonia.

"I wanted to see you, so I stopped her," an unfamiliar voice said, coming towards her.

"Who are you?" Trinity asked. It was strange that this woman looked very different from what today's women usually look like, wearing a long Victorian style ball gown. And to say she looked beautiful was an understatement, long black hair, thin figure, face so radiant... she looked like she was an angel in a black dress, and she looked absolutely gorgeous. Trinity didn't feel afraid. She felt drawn to her.

"I'm Alexandra, your ancestor. I've been here waiting for you. The time has come, my child, for you to receive the knowledge that you deserve." With that, Alexandra put her hand on Trinitys forehead, and a bright light consumed her.

"Is she going to be all right?" Tyrone asked Dorin, who was sitting on the bed by her daughter's side, holding her hand.

"Yes, this is normal,"Dorin replied.

"But she's sweating, and her temperature is getting high. Her heart rate is also rising."

"Ty, calm down. This is normal," Dorin replied with a stern voice. Tyrone had woken up in the middle of the night when he heard Trinity talking in her sleep. Her temperature was high, and thinking she had a fever, he ran and got Dorin.

"What's going on?"

"She is receiving her witches power."

"Wait... I thought that witches use spells from books!"

"Not pure blood witches. We gain all the knowledge through Alexandra herself."

"Is that why I can't mindlink with her?"

Before Dorin could understand what Tyrone meant, Meredith entered the room, "Sweetheart, is she all right."

"Yeah, mom, she's doing fine."

"Dorin? What's going on?" Patrick asked, entering behind the old lady.

"Everything's fine. She will wake up in no time."

As the light faded, Trinity noticed something... Dragonia was nowhere to be seen. "Where's Dragonia?" She asked Alexandra.

"You don't need her any longer, Trinity. You are now a witch. You can still defeat Ryphonsus with your power."

"What do you mean?" Trinity was turning red with confusion and anger.

"You can defeat..."No! I mean, what do you mean I don't need Dragonia?" Trinity cut in, not even trying to hide her disgust.

"Lis..."No! You listen to me. I will willingly give up the powers I've just received from you for my dragon if it means I'll be with Dragonia. She's been with me through so much, and she's my father's last gift to me. Bring her back! NOW!!!" By now, Trinity was screaming. She didn't care if the woman in front of her was the most powerful witch to ever live, her dragon was the world to her, and there was no way she'd let her go without a fight.

"You don't know what you're doing!" The witch said.

"Do your worse!" The dark-haired girl replied, ready to fight.

A soft smile appeared on Alexandra's lips, as Dragonia appeared beside Trinity. The girl's anger turned into confusion as she stared at her ancestor. "Congratulations, my dear. You have passed the test that I gave you," Alexandra said.

"Test? What test?" The still confused teen asked.

"You become a true witch only when you are no longer afraid to defend your loved ones; even if it means giving up everything that you have for them. I'm proud to have met you." Saying this, she disappeared.

"Are you all right?" Dorin asked Trinity as she sat up in bed.

"Mom? Yeah, I'm fine. I had the most disturbing nightmare..." Trinity said.

"It's alright. You are now a witch. Don't you feel different?"

"Yeah... I mean... I can't explain it, but something is new."

"That's good, honey, but... We still have to celebrate your birthday." Dorin said, smiling.

Trinity walked outside with her mother wearing a stunning yellow ballgown, which was decorated with golden flower patterns. It was sleevless with only a lace strap on the shoulder. Her hair was tied in a loose bun, and she wore silver hoop earrings.

"TRIN!!! hi.."

Turning her head towards the excited voice, Trinity saw Brittania making her way to get to her. Patrick had invited Trinity's friend and her family over since they had always asked about Trinity.

"OMG Brit? How are you?"

"Happy birthday, gorgeous. And I'm fine..." They happily hugged each other. "Tell me all about yourself... you totally disappeared. Where have you been?"

"It's a long story..."

"I can't wait to hear all about it." Both girls giggle. Brittania was wearing a royal blue party dress, and topaz jewelry.

The air was filled with beautiful music and laughter and a sense of belonging. The cool breeze was so refreshing in the hot summer evening and the sunset was amazing.

"Oh My Gosh! Who are they?" Trinity followed her friend's eyes and saw Tyrone with Emeralda and Esmarald.

"Well, the one wearing the dark yellow shirt is Tyrone, and the other two are his cousins, Emeralda and Esmarald."

"Please tell me at least one of them is single." Brittania was still staring at them.

"Well, Esmarald is.. Tyrone is taken. By me," Trinity replied, holding up her left hand.

"Wow, congrats. You have to introduce us, and tell me how you met each other!" Brittania exclaimed.

"Hey, happy birthday." Tyrone kissed her on the cheek.

"Thanks. By the way, this is Brit, short for Brittania, my best friend and Brit, this is my fiancé Tyrone," Trinity said.

"Hi."

"Hello."

"And these two are Tyrones' cousins," Trinity continued after her best friend and mate greeted each other.

"Hi, I'm Brittania, but you can call me Britt," she said, shaking Esmarald's hand, and smiling at his sister.

"I'm Esmarald, but everybody calls me Jack."

"And I'm his twin, Emeralda."

"I like your dress," Brittania complimented her.

"I told you this colour looks so cool on you," her brother chimed in.

"Jack chose this colour?" Brittania exclaimed.

"Well, he like darker colors, and this ocean blue is his favorite. As for me, I like lighter colors."

They were still chatting when Derek called out to Trinity, "Hey Trin, mom's looking for you."

"Guys, I better go check it out," she excused herself and walked inside.

Dorin was sitting on the sofa with Patrick and they seemed to to discussing something. "Mom, you called me?" Trinity asked, as she got near.

"Rin, come here and sit down. Pat and I wanted to give you your birthday present and also share something."

Trinity sat down on the sofa beside her mother. Dorin gave her two small jewelry box. Trinity looked at her mother, than carefully unwrapped the first box, which consisted of a silver chain. Unwrapping the second box, Trinity's eyes watered. It was the same orange dragon that she had seen on display at Mr Eric Dayson's party.

"Mom..."

"When I told Pat about how you wanted that stone dragon, he came up with the idea of surprising you on your birthday, so he spoke with Eric; and he sold it to your dad at a reasonable price," Dorin told her daughter.

She slipped the chain and pendant together and wore it around her neck, feeling Dragonia smile from within.
