CHAPTER 6
Present day
"A simple story sure, probably not worth killing you knights and hating you but to me it was a turning point in my life." Ryu says while seemingly lost in thought.
"No so what happened to the queen and her executioner, and by you sitting here I will just assume you found your dragon well if that even if it's the real name."
"Ahh yes I spent 5 years searching for it going from town to town like a wanderer killing knights freeing the monsters as you call them, and the queen well I obliterated her army and made sure to kill her and her executioner with my own hands, and since then I've never truly had peace it's just fight after fight so I retreated here and enjoyed some form of peace at the very least. My story is done the door is open you may leave and return to your so called hero."
Ryu gets up and creates a portal that leads near the capital, Veranda steps through it without a second thought she feels like she needed to take this opportunity or she might not escape at all.
She heads home and dresses herself in proper clothes she is now wearing brown pants with leather boots that comes to her knee the pants tucked in her hair loosely tied behind her head and a simple white blouse with a black jacket, she has a spare sword she takes it with her strapping it to her side.
"I should see where Sir Nozar is he might be worried about me I can't wait to see the look on his face when I surprize him it will lift his spirits I'm sure." Veranda thinks as she walks in the capital.
She asks around for Nozar but nobody seems to know, finally someone directs her to the nearby house of a well-respected nobleman knight would often gather there to celebrate victory, she assumes that he must be miserable she was his partner for a year. She looks through the window and what she sees shocks her he is happy he had silver eye colour and light red hair he was laughing and there were many around him but what she heard was what brought her to tears.
"My comrades I am so glad that we have this victory Ryu was slain, a great victory for the kingdom but Veranda lost her life she was-"
"Annoyning, stuck up plus she did not want to give you a piece of her, good riddance I say Nozar." The knights shout as they interrupted him.
Veranda outside saw and heard this and she thinks that this is what they think of her why would they she only ever did what they have asked of her and worked hard for their respect but it seems that nobody in fact respected her in return. She feels rage and anger for the first time.
"Enough is enough they mock me for doing only my duty as a knight I'm not some noble whore either to sleep with them," she barges in and everyone looks at her Nozar drops his drink, there is a woman sitting beside him her hair long and dark she is wearing armour that only appears to be skimpy and cover the basics much like a bikini except her boots come to her knees and they are high heels, her eye colour was sapphire blue she too loses her smile.
"So this is what you all think of me after my death you mock me isn't that right Nozara you and your sapphire bitch!"
"Watch your tone girl or I will kill you for real this time seeing as Nozar is incompetent in even killing you." The woman states in a cold tone towards Veranda.
"Ohh no need to get so violent my sweet I'll kill her here and now, sorry Veranda we can't let you live you need to die now and I take it Ryu is still alive as well seeing as you're here alive."
Veranda remains quiet her hand on her sword she is ready to fight.
"Very well time to die you won't speak so matters little to me now."
He moves quick and grabs Veranda by the throat she could not react in time, he punches her in the stomach letting go of her she falls to the ground on her knees, Nozar grabs her by the hair and lifts her up looking at her she tries to break free but is unable, he takes her away from the capital near a lake the woman follows them.
"See Veranda you were always annoying to me I was glad I stabbed you with Curtana this time I'm going to cut off your head instead." He says with a sadistic look on his face the woman also smiles at the idea.
"Let's first have some fun with her she can take a lot of pain after all she is a woman let's do finger nails first." The woman states with a cruel intent her face cold as she smiles at the idea.
"Y-you sick bitch I won't lie down ant just take it." Veranda is determined to survive, the odds however are not in her favour two against one and Nozar is powerful on his own as she experienced it now first hand, she only knows she must fight and try to run away to stay alive.
She draws her sword in a effort to survive but deep down she knows it's hopeless, she is overpowered by Nozar the woman only watches as the one sided battle commences. Veranda is outmatched her sword is broken she falls to the ground she tries to crawl to her broken blade she will not give up. He grabs her hair once again and drags her to a nearby puddle and begins to drown her.
"So this is it my life is over now to die by the hands of my own comrade I would have given my life for him, no I did give my life and it was saved by the enemy and my ally takes it how strange the world truly is no one is going to save me, I-I don't want to die like this I worked so hard to get where I am and still it wasn't enough." Verandas final thoughts echo in her mind as life fades from her she stops struggling and accepts her death.
All of a sudden she can breathe the hand that was drowning her was gone she looks up and sees Ryu standing in front of her his right hand a fist and extended, Nozar stands several meters away holding onto his chest with one hand, he looks confused as they both look at Ryu.
"Seems you can only fight those who can't properly fight back." Ryu takes a fighting stance.
"What no sword this time my, you're confident let's see if cutting of your head kills you."
Nozar charges at him sword in hand he garbs his wrist and tightens his grip Nozar unable to move he tries to break free his feet sinking into the ground as he starts to scream pulling away with all his might he lets go of Curtana, Ryu punches him away from his sword, Nozar pulls a knife and readies himself.
Ryu summons a steel gauntlet in his right arm with sharp nails they charge at each other once again they pass each other. He hears a beating sound he turns around and faces Ryu he holds a beating heart in his hand.
"W-where did that come from playing tricks are we w-whose is that?"
"Yours" Ryu replies in a calm tone. Nozar looks at his chest there is no mark his armour is still intact, suddenly he coughs up blood and falls to the ground. Ryu crushes his heart the gauntlet disappears, he looks over to the woman.
"Take your friend or do you wish to join him?"
"I'm no fool I shall take is body away I'm no match for such raw power." She replies with still a smile on her face it looked sadistic filled with lust and pleasure in her eyes after seeing Ryu's display. She carries Nozar away. "By the way my name is Lucy be seeing you Ryu Sakai."
Veranda looks at Ryu she does not know how to respond Ryu has saved her life twice and the once she called friends and comrades have tried to kill her twice, he picks her up from the ground holding her in his arms.
"N-Now my first princess carry is also by this man." She simply looks at him as he carries her a portal opens and they walk through it she knows not what to expect next but she only knows that things are not as they seem he was a hard man on the outside, and somewhere deep inside he was also soft he was not as heartless as the stories made him out to be she closes her eyes and accepts to go with him.
