Chapter 12
As Death appeared in front of Ryu a cold air covers the castle where Mizuki and the others are busy Veranda drops a glass of water, "i-it just froze over what's this cold all off a sudden".
"I-it can't be why, why is she even here it's been years." A shock on her face her eyes are frozen at the thought that Death is here.
"W-who is here Mizuki?" Lucy askes out of curiosity.
"Lady Death herself has decided to pay us or I should rather say Ryu a visit it's been years since she visited him, what could she want."
Mizuki rushes outside Lucy and Veranda follow they are reluctant to do so, as they rush they see Ryu being teleported away by her by her, but they are too late to reach him before he is gone unable to utter even a single word to him. The air starts to get warmer after they disappear through the portal.
They are now in a room with a bed and a couch the room is only illuminated by a few candles and incense burning giving a rich aroma Ryu sits on the couch as Death slowly approaches him she lower her hood and drops her cloak revealing her face and body, she has long straight raven colour hair and her eyes are dark purple she stands 170cm tall without heals and she is not wearing anything under the cloak revealing her seductive curves. She walks over and sits on Ryu's lap they are looking into each other's eyes.
"It's been far too long since we did this my dear." She says in a soft seductive tone.
"On that we can agree my Lady, but what has made you think of me after all this time?" He asks in a soft tone.
"I received your gifts and knew you were back after all you are quite efficient at killing idiots who challenge you, but let's forget that Ryu time to bear your soul to me." She replies and kisses him his clothes start to disappear as if using magic to destroy it.
"What's going on Mizuki who was that woman and what does she want from Ryu." Lucy askes in a cold and serious tone.
"That was Death herself she and Ryu met years ago when he killed hundreds if not tens of thousands of knights sending their souls to Death she basked in them no one had ever sent her so many at one time, she took a liking to him and has come here off and on with him."
"You mean to say he know Death on a personal level like that?" Veranda askes with surprize in her voice.
"Yes he does you act surprized about Death being real Veranda did Sūker not tell you Lady Death did not wish to take your soul, she was only being considered of Ryu." Mizuki explains to Veranda and Lucy.
"I had no idea he meant the actual Death." Veranda replies with somewhat surprize in her voice but also a hint on fear can be sensed in her tone.
"You need not fear as long as Ryu is on good terms with her she won't collect easily so just thank your stars, I just wonder how long he's going to be gone this time."
Lucy and Veranda have a worried expression on their faces but it would seem more surprized than worry Lucy replies before Veranda has a chance, "what do you mean how long will he be gone and what the HELL did I hear you right he's killed tens of thousands for this Death you are really throwing a lot at us Mizuki and expect us to just accept it."
"Yes I know normally when she takes him away it's for a couple of days but once he was gone for a month that woman grinds my gears, and to answer your other question nobody but Death knows how many he's killed he was not always as calm as he is now."
Lucy and Veranda just stand there in awestruck after Mizuki tells them the story they have no idea what or even how to reply.
Back in Deaths bedroom Ryu sits in a chair still naked and Death is behind him also not wearing anything she has a pair of scissors in her hand and starts to cut Ryu's hair thinning it out and now just hanging loosely above shoulder length, she puts the scissors away and hugs him from behind around his neck and speaks to him in a soft and gentle voice.
"There you go my dear isn't that better now a full service bed, bath and a haircut you should be well rested now, I could feel your soul Ryu."
She walks around clothes start to appear on her she is now wearing a purple dress that fits tightly hugging her body closely and black stilettos the dress is split at the sides from the waist down revealing her beautiful legs. Ryu also gets up and simply puts on his pair of black pants he looks at her and sits down again maintaining eye contact with her.
"What did you feel enlighten me if you would." He replies to her
"It's not as fiery as it once was Ryu it's old now, tired ready for rest. What happened to you? It's hard to believe you were once feared throughout the kingdom by knights and monsters alike nobody dared to attack your castle after all they thought you were a joke only sending two knights to face you that night I did not take Verandas soul it should be an insult to you. Monsters use to bow to you in your presence and now they think you are a myth. Where is the Ryu I knew once he went out and did not nap all day with his cats." She says to Ryu in a serious tone but not a loud one.
He simply looks at her in his eyes she saw that he was different and he knew this he had grown weaker his mind not as sharp as it once was his name was forgotten.
"You're right Death I have gotten softer is that why you have come to me only to lecture me on my habits these days save your breath Mizuki lectures me each day about it." He replies in a stubborn tone hiding that he agrees with Death.
"She's a wise woman then you are not done yet I came to you because you need a wakeup call you did not even realise that those knights you killed had nou souls in their bodies you are slipping Ryu."
He looks to her his face reveals it all the surprize of it he did not know they were soulless. "What! That's what we were missing I have to get back that only means they are planning something and using the souls for something else a weapon perhaps."
Death opens a portal Ryu is teleported back instantly in his castle. Death simply smiles as she watches him walk away, thinking only to herself "don't worry dear you'll be seeing more of me than you'd like."
Ryu barges into Sūker's room and talks in a serious tone, "Sūker! We need to find that witch or wizard quickly they are plotting something and we need to stop them as soon as possible."
A woman walks in a hallway dark from the far end a blue light emanates from it she opens the door a man stands in front of a blue orb waving his hands to seemingly contain the power within the orb, the woman speaks "Is it ready yet?" she asks.
"Yes only a few more and we will have enough power to perfect the spell these souls will serve your purpose my Queen." The man says his tone is certain and sadistic at the same time.
"Good all is as it should be then." The Queen replies with a sadistic smile on her face.
"You will soon be out of my hair Ryu Sakai it will end and you will never be able to escape your power won't save you this time we have always looked at you're the wrong way but not this time."
