Chapter 14
As Eldar looks on Ryu slashes vertically and splits his head in the middle, this time after five seconds he is back again looking up at Ryu before he could utter a single word he is killed again and again each time more brutal that the last inflicting as much pain as possible.
Suddenly Ryu speaks "had enough het this is the tenth time I've killed you and brought you back with Lady Death's power."
"W-what do you mean I-I don't know how you can keep on killing me" he replies in a shocked tone
Ryu smiles as he looks at Eldar, "You see I'll explain it to you that mark on your chest belongs to Death herself and I can resurrect you every time I kill you I have 10 seconds to bring you back and should those 10 seconds pass you'll be dead forever, now Eldar the truth what are you plotting?"
Terror in Eldar's face he starts to speak, "I-I don't know Ryu the Queen came to me she wanted soldiers she didn't care who I only later learned her wizard was soul sucking them…"
"And you just let her take your people away to become mindless husks a shell of their former selves?" Ryu interrupts him briefly but continues to listen to his story.
"I would sacrifice every man, woman and child if it meant destroying you Ryu! I despise you, We Elves would have ruled over the known monster races but then along came you and showed them not to fear the Knights, my plans were ruined by your hands you just don't know it! I HATE YOU, YOU BASTARD." He shouts in a loud voice towards Ryu anger and hatred clearly visible in his eyes, Ryu simple looks at him then snaps his fingers and Eldar's heart explodes, Ryu revives him at exactly ten seconds making Eldar feel close to death Eldar pants loudly as he is on his hands and knees face down to Ryu.
"None of that again Eldar I'm not in the mood for your mood swings simply tell me where this wizard is so we can be done here." Ryu says in a cold tone it sends chills down Eldar's spine.
"I never saw him the Queen is the only one who knows where he is I only send the soldiers to her she sends them to him, now please let me go I'm begging you let me live!"
Ryu looks at Eldar and responds to his begging, "Enough Eldar I'll let you go you may live but only in constant fear if I ever see you again or so much as hear from you your heart will explode again and this time you'll stay dead, no go run run as fast as you can."
As soon as Ryu finishes his sentence Eldar starts running not even looking back at Ryu just in front of himself as he runs, while standing there Ryu thinks to himself, "I should ask Lucy or Veranda about this maybe both of them they might know how to get into the castle unnoticed and Sūker should have a spell to narrow down the location once I'm inside, time to head back."
Just as Ryu finishes he teleports back to his castle in the throne room everybody awaits him eagerly, he looks at them but before he could speak Mizuki talks first.
"So you're back and what of the elves and Eldar learn anything worthwhile over there?" She asks of Ryu
"Indeed I did the Queen is taking elves and delivers them to a wizard of sorts to be soul sucked he is using the pure energy from their souls for a spell most likely and the empty vessels are combined of human and elf to create what we saw in that village no pain no remorse just mindless creatures to be used and discarded, and on Eldar I let him live but we won't be seeing him anytime soon again."
Lucy and Veranda look on in amazement at the thing they are hearing Mizuki simply smiles at Ryu her eyes light up as she sees he is once again becoming a man of action he once again fights but for whom or what she also wonders, she'll question him about this on another time.
Suddenly Ryu speaks to Lucy and Veranda, "Ok you two have any of you ever seen something strange while you were there in the castle anything out of the ordinary that may lead us to this wizard the Queen seems to be hiding?"
They simply look at each other finally Lucy speaks she tries to answer Ryu's question, "I did in my time there notice strange things the Queen would lead a dozen or so hooded figures in the castle to her study but that's not the strange part in her study is also a hidden room which works with a portal only she can open, I tried following her once through the portal but it did not open again and each time she returned it was always alone."
"Sounds like what we are looking for." Veranda remarks.
"Yes it does now what would be the best way to get in there would you guys say?" Ryu asks of them
Veranda is the first to answer and come up with a solution, "Well Ryu you could be taken there as a prisoner but that would limit your movements in there considerably and too bloody of an exit, lucky for you there is another way the Queens masquerade ball is only a week away that would be the best time to infiltrate and kill this wizard and lucky again for you, you'll be wearing a mask."
"Brilliant thinking Veranda it's the best chance we have to do this silently and without suspicion." Ryu remarks praising Veranda in a way for the way she thought of it.
"I'll have a spell ready for you by then Ryu, once you are in her secret room to force open the portal." Sūker says with a dead certain tone
"Very well then that is the plan we have a week to prepare everything now everybody let's not waste time here and start to get busy things are about to get more serious once we pull this off." Ryu says and dismisses them, Mizuki is walking with Ivaldi smiling and looking forward.
"What's with the grin Mizuki?" He asks.
"It's nothing really it's just when's the last time you saw Ryu like this? Taking action so swiftly it reminds me of the old days he did not sit around and wait for things to happen he did it he was so fearless back then and somewhere he mellowed, I don't know what Death told him but whatever it was it brought him back the old Ryu no not quite I would say a new Ryu better than his old self it makes me glad." Mizuki says while walking with Ivaldi
"Hmm you're right about that it's sudden but I sense also something awakened in him only time will tell Mizuki, I'm just as glad thing were starting to get boring here in the castle now it's not going to be boring for much longer." Ivaldi says to Mizuki in a friendly and sort of care free tone as they continue to walk down the hall.
