As I was on my way to Royal Capital, I thought to give a visit to the flower garden. As arrived their, I spotted a group of assassins attacking a group of knights who were protect a girl, Princess of Renhard, Lucia Renhard...
So I thought of lending a hand.
I beat the crap out of each and every assassins within a minute and then I turned to Lucia and his general... or whatever, Leon(I think that was his name, maybe), only to found them watching me with astonished, speechless expression.
'Hey, c'mon man. Don't stare me like that, you can at least blink your eyes once... And seriously, close your mouths else fly will get in.'
I thought as I approached them.
Well they were so shocked that they didn't utter a word so i thought to start conversation.
"They are not going to get up for a time being. So you don't have to worry about them."
"H-Huh? A-Ah, yes."
Princess replied stiffly.
I turned my gaze to Leon(maybe that was his name). I sit beside him on one knee. He give me somewhat puzzled and surprised look.
"Don't worry, I'll heal heal you."
"A-Ah, huh. Thanks."
I put my hand on Leon's shoulder. My hand glow with a green light, so did his body.
"Wow, I no longer feel any pain."
"Hmm, though I healed you. It doesn't recover the blood lose so don't push yourself."
I smiled. He was talking stiffly so maybe a smile can make him comfortable. And as for princess...she was standing beside me, watching, without moving a muscle.
"Is she a statue?"
I Joked.
"Ahm, princess. Are you alright?"
"A-Ah, h-huh? Y-Yeah, I am alright. N-Not even a scratch you see."
At his call, princess finally replied.
"It's good."
"Are you alright, Leon?"
"Yeah. It feels like I didn't even got hurt."
"I see, but."
She turned her gaze around, watching her knights laying on the ground. Leon inspected them.
"...They are all dead. It seems like the weapon they were hit with were poisoned."
"..."
Princess stared the bodies with a sad look on face.
"Ah, sorry for rude behaviour, sir."
General turned to me.
"I didn't introduced myself yet. I am the one who leads the command of The Royal Knights of Kingdom Renhard, Leon Kale. And this here is her majesty, Princess of Kingdom Renhard. I thank you for your help."
'Yes! I was correct. His name 𝙞𝙨 Leon.'
"I-It's a pleasure to meet you, as Leon said, I-I am Lucia R-Renhard, the Princess of Renhard Kingdom. I-I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You helped us and saved us, we really owe you."
Lucia introduced herself. She tried her best to hide her embarrassment for late introduction, but the tip of her ears were red. Leon also noticed that as he smiled wryly.
"It's nice to meet you both, Leon, Lucia. I am the one who is known as Allan, please call me that. You don't have to thank me, I just do what I think was right. Their is no need for you to be thankful to me."
At my reply they exchange looks. They were sure confused and surprised as I referred a royalty without any honorifics and called her casually by her name. Usually knights are the first one who spoke up on the behalf of their bosses, but since I was the one who saved them so he probably thought of ignoring it, though it was clear to see it on their faces.
"Ah, E-Excuse me. Earlier, you said you were just passing by when you saw us in trouble..."
"Yeah? Yes, I was just passing by so I thought of lending a hand. Though I didn't thought I will meet a Princess in a place like this."
I replied to Princess who was somewhat confused by the thing I said earlier.
'It was a coincidence, but is it really a matter of concern?'
"Still, how did you get here? Do you know this place?"
"How do I get here? Well I thought of give this place a visit so I came here."
"Give a visit? This place. From what you said, it seems like you have been here before."
"Well, yeah... I come here regularly in 2-3 days. This place is full of flowers so I feel somewhat relief here. But is it really a big deal?"
I asked Princess. She looked at Leon, as he spoke up.
"I think you didn't realize yet, but this place is constructed by his majesty, The King, at the behest of the Princess. This flower garden is owned by Royalty of The Kingdom."
"I see. So that's how it is, wait wh-?"
I turned my gaze around and saw the land covered by fences. 'Were the fences always there?! Man, seriously. I never noticed... Ah, so that explains the reason of there queries.'
"I am extremely sorry. I never noticed that there were fences at the first place."
"You never noticed... Them how did you get here."
Lucia tilting her head, asked me.
"Well whenever I want to get here I just fly and come to this place. I never came to this place on foot."
"Wait, you can use flight magic!?"
"Well flight magic, you can say it like that. That's how I come here...Flying is convenient since I have to travel for long."
"It seems like you come here from a far place."
"Well I used to live in a village called Rahnu. It is at the border of the Kingdom."
"Wait, isn't that village under the attack. We get the information that the knights from Lufi Empire are gonna raid that village."
Leon cut in between. He do know what is going on in the kingdom.
"Yeah, you are right. They attacked the village yesterday so I run away to save my life and come to the capital, and that's the reason why I am here now."
"I see, so you run away."
"Well obviously. I don't want to die."
'Well, in a sense, I don't want 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 to die by my hands. Though I do fought them or you can say played with them. They were all weaklings but I can't say that here.'
"Yeah, maybe that was the best thing to do... Can I ask you since when you're visiting the flower garden?"
"Mh-hm, since a month or two..."
Lucia said while leaning towards me.
"Wait, but I never saw you here before. I come to this place everyday."
"Well I said I come here regularly. But it's not like that I come here everyday, just once in 2 or 3 days. And I also don't stay here for long, I have other work to do."
"Ah, I-I see.".
She looked somewhat disappointed.
I looked around, then I noticed a group of knights rushing towards us. Well I have no interest in staying here for long, so just decided to leave.
"It seems like the help has arrived, though it's a bit late..."
"Yeah... Then I will take my leave. It's was an honour to meet the Royal order commender and The Princess."
Just as I take a step to leave. Lucia spoke up.
"Huh, y-you are leaving already? A-At least allow us to show you the g-gratitude for saving our lives. Y-You can come to the castle and can rest there."
"Thanks for your concern Princess, but I'm afraid I would refuse. I have a business to attend."
"Ah hm, I-I see. Thank you for today."
"Yeah, thanks for saving us again."
"C'mon it's alright... Well then, later."
With that I started floating in air, seeing me Leon a slightly surprised look but then calm himself. Lucia look somewhat disappointed and sad.
I waved them and flied away.
