She grunted in pain. How did this happen? A white haired woman was standing above her with a knife in her gloved hand. A cruel smile formed on her perfect red lips.
"That will teach you to stay away from my man"
What man? She never even been on a date throughout her pitiful life. She didn't have time for that kind of distraction. She couldn't say it though. She coughed out some blood. Was this the end? She heard someone barge through the door.
"Leave her alone!"
A male's voice. She didn't even recognise it. Someone wanted to help her? Too late.
The silence was deafening.
She floated in the dark as the memories of her short life flashed before her eyes. Happy childhood, miserable teenage years, her new college... Her mother, always by her side. She couldn't leave her! They only have each other after her scum of a father eloped with his mistress, leaving them only debts and tears.
"I can't die like this! I need to go back to her! I didn't do anything wrong!"
As she was thinking this, the darkness around her shattered. She was surrounded by light.
"Go home, little one" she heard an angelic voice. And then...
...she opened her eyes.
She definitely wasn't in a hospital. Her head hurt like hell. She was laying under one flight of stairs.
"Lisa! Are you alright honey?!"
That voice... "Mom?"
"I'm here" she felt two slim arms hug her. "Does it hurt anywhere?"
"Only my head... what happened?" She looked at her mother's face. She looked younger, her wrinkles disappeared and her eyes were brighter. Like before...
"What is all that ruckus about?" She heard a voice.
Dad?
