Meanwhile on the Devil's side, the meeting that started at 10 continued till 12.
They couldn't see his face as the lights were dimmed and he sat under the influence of darkness. His seat was in the farthest corner where the light rays couldn't reach and brighten it.
Alex, acted as the bodyguard and someone who had the guts to face the Devil felt the chilling vibes.
On the projection slides, it showed the total growth as well as the decline in their IT projects.
The Head of the IT department, had chosen the most beautiful and talented girl of the department.
It was Samantha. The head had taken bribes from her family in return of giving her a good job in the company. They thought that their secret was safe and both would achieve their goals. However, they were gravely mistaken.
It was the same as committing a sin. They had forgotten that the Devil had his eyes set on everyone.
"Any questions?"
She had her pursued at the Devil, not openly but Devil CEO could feel the constant staring. He wasn't new to them.
Even Samantha was a newly joined intern. With the help of her family and money, she had successfully secured herself a post higher than being an intern.
When the head and Samantha got to know that their Devil CEO had called them for an unplanned meeting of all department heads.
Since the chance was thrown at them by fate itself, who were they to miss it? That was what came into their minds when Samantha and him started preparing for the meeting.
'I must have explained so well that they can't find any mistakes.' Samantha boosted herself.
She felt proud. When no one looked down at her only because she was an intern. This was the second mistake done by her, assuming things on her own.
"Sir, Samantha is very talented. Only a few days after her joining she had impressed all with her smartness and wit." The IT head used this opportunity to its best. He knew how seldom their CEO asked them to join for a meeting. Otherwise it was always Alex who they had to report.
Samantha belonged to the third level rich family. They had three levels. Her family's income was better than average. She could buy highly priced clothes once in a while.
Samantha's father was the assistant of the finance minister and her mother was a homemaker. Her mother had left her job as a B class actress after marrying her mother.
Samantha had an elder brother. Her brother's name was Tom. He never enjoyed studying. Once he had run away from the school. When he was asked the reason, he said he didn't want to study. But it wasn't the truth.
"Ms. Samantha. I didn't get where the department had invested 1 million USD dollars."
Sam furrowed her eyebrows. She didn't remember if there was any investment regarding the 1 million USD dollars in the script that the IT Head had given her to memorize.
"Sir, regarding the investment, I wasn't told about it." Samantha's reply earned her deep sighs from the others.
'It is her doom's day today.'
'The Devil is awakened now. Hope I survive this meeting.'
Those who were present in the meeting hall had different and contrasting opinions for Sam.
Some pitied her to be targeted by the Devil, while some didn't care.
Alex had his eyes on her however his words were directed towards the IT Head. "Is it?"
Sam flinched by the tone of his voice. It was emotionless and devoid.
Her eyes drifted to the IT Head, who himself was sweating so much that he had to take out his handkerchief to wipe them.
'How should I tell him that I had used that money to buy a diamond necklace for my mistress.'
The IT Head was a 60 years old man. He had a wife and a 20 years old girl.
He wasn't like this from the beginning. He was an honest, loyal worker. Somehow along with the company of corrupted friends and workers, he broke his friendship with truth. As the time went on, he began to use under the table methods.
His hands learnt the art of exploitation of company's money and resources. He used to have work as his first priority but now satisfying his needs, likes and dislikes were his main thought.
Greed and selfishness has taken control of him. They had turned him from a selfless to a selfish person. It didn't occur to him how his actions were affecting the others around him.
He had a loving wife and a daughter who viewed him as her role model. They both lived in the dark.
The caring husband who once took the oath to love his wife had been lurking with the other girls of the same age as his own daughter.
The idol father figure had changed into someone who liked to bed girls and even made some pregnant.
He had destroyed his personal and professional life.
The Devil had no interest in his private life or how he spent his salary.
The one thing that required his concern is whether he was misusing the powers such as behaving inappropriately with the female colleagues, taking bribes, doing fraud and cheating.
All this while the IT head was sure, no one could reveal him, not even his Devil CEO.
"Foolish", The Devil muttered under his breath. The loudness of his voice could be considered below the human hearing range.
Alex also couldn't hear what he said, although he was standing close to him.
"We had given enough chances to you yet you ignored our generosity and kindness. Don't blame us now when we are going to be ruthless with you." Alex spoke.
And the IT Head knew it was a dead end. He couldn't do anything to amend his past mistakes.
"Sir, one last chance. Please I won't repeat my wrong doings." He ran to where their CEO silently sat. However, before he could reach there, he was harshly grabbed by his collar from behind.
He tried to get the pull off him.
"Leave me. I need to beg him to grant me one last chance."
"Let me go."
"Get your sticky hands off me."
"Leave my shirt."
Each attempt of his bore him the same results.
"You will pay for this." At last when his rationality left him conscious, he thought to threaten his CEO, The Devil incarnation.
The man holding him pushed him to the ground where the IT head saw the shoes of the Devil. His eyes raised up until he saw his hazel eyes.
