In my leg, I felt an excruciating pain when the gun was fired. I knelt for a moment in an attempt to ease the pain.
I was in a lot of pain, far more so than most of the bear's assaults. However, it was painful in a strange way, in a different way than the bear's attacks.
When the bear attacked me, it would use blunt attacks to harm me, but the bullet penetrated my body with an unbelievable amount of speed.
It was more like a miniature version of the bear's massive bite, which tore my body in two, but the difference here is that I am awake and can feel it, whereas back there I passed out from the pain and only felt it for a second or two, which the adrenaline of battle helped with.
In terms of my injuries, you could see that my grains were not dense enough to prevent the bullet from penetrating my leg, but they were also not so light that it allowed the bullet to completely pass through my leg.
Around a quarter of the bullet could be seen on the other side of my leg, indicating that it came very near to penetrating through my entire leg, but its speed and velocity were reduced too much for it to penetrate the remaining grains of my leg.
The strange thing is that I didn't even lose as many grains as the amount pain I felt. The amount of grains I lost was just half of what was present in that specific place of my leg that was shot at, which isn't much in comparison to all of the grains I've lost up to this point.
Even though the pain was tremendous, I was able to function well enough to remove the bullet from my leg and allow it to recover. I then grabbed for the bullet and extracted it while the grains had already begun to cover the injury, making it look exactly the same as before but somewhat less dense.
I didn't realize it at the time, but while I was removing the bullet and regaining control of my body, the man who shot me from behind was in too much shock from what he was witnessing to respond appropriately or scream out to others. In other words, he was completely dumbfounded, which I find hilarious.
After my body had recovered and the pain had subsided, I felt only hatred and anger in my thoughts and body. Even as a human, I had always thought of humans as a terrible and bothersome race; I despised them but couldn't do much about it. I wasn't the same person I used to be; my animosity remained, but I was no longer horrified or disgusted by their behaviors since I honestly didn't care.
Even though I felt no disgust this time, I felt something. An emotion that grew stronger as I pondered about the circumstance I'm in more and more.
That emotion was none other than rage, and it wasn't just any rage; it was anger laced with hatred.
What began as wrath at the prospect of being looked down upon by a creature weaker than myself was gradually morphing into a ferocious rage, a whirlwind of rage. One that was difficult to calm down or avoid.
Only one question remained in my mind as I was getting up, how dare an arrogant human attack me? How dare it injure me and make me feel pain when the bear hardly qualified to do so?
A small pain was present within my brain at that time for a few seconds before it faded. I was no longer in pain. I'm ready to exact my vengeance on those who crossed a line that should never have been crossed.
At the time I got up, some of the hunters had already arrived there but they looked nothing like hunters, they looked more like soldiers. They looked at the scene in front of them and the speechless and pale soldier who was not moving at all.
'What they were witnessing made no sense to them. Tito's explanation had made them aware of strange-looking chimaeras, but they still had no information about the monster they were seeing. In addition, one of their comrades was in a severe state of shock. 'However, unlike their comrade, the soldiers did not appear to lose their calm and instead attempted to act swiftly.'
'The two other chimaeras were shot in the legs and under control, except for their insults to Tito, this allowed the soldiers to deal with the terrifying demon-like monstrosity in front of them.'
I was enraged and wanted to kill those who were simply trying to take advantage of me. They were all going to die for opposing me, from the troops who caused me anguish by catching me off guard to the chimaera named Tito who betrayed us and caused all of this.
THEY HAD TO PAY FOR WHAT THEY HAD DONE.
I was encircled and had to deal with humans who could inflict enough damage on me to cause me to halt for a few seconds. The only way for me to escape was to employ my shadow ability.
I instantaneously cast a super-dark 5 meter shadow. All others around the shadow could see the unexpected anomaly, but it didn't matter because the second they go within it, they will die, and if they don't step inside, they will remain uninformed of their target's whereabouts.
I waited in a circle to be ready in case they opened fire on the shadow as a whole, but nothing happened for a few seconds. I now had the opportunity to broaden the battleground where my shadows lurked.
I dashed to the edge of my shadow and stepped out of it, only to cast another. Gunshots could be heard, but they were ineffective because they missed their target. I could now feel the presence of 3 soldiers in my shadow.
I then proceeded to kill them using the same approach I used to strike the bear in the side, but this time I not only did I hit my target without difficulty, but I also killed them or brought them near death in a single hit that smashed their organs and bones.
After the three soldiers were killed, I continued to employ my shadows to evade shots and strike my targets. At the end of what seemed like a 5-minute combat, all the men close me were dead, leaving me with two other soldiers in the back and Tito.
