Why is he back here so fast?
I thought the Arena would drag on for several more hours.
Lamina is in no shape to run and I don't know what the situation is with Madam Reena. I'm in no shape to fight, either. I lack the experience for that sort of thing.
"Did you see that? That guy, Rikeron! He actually ran away"
"Hahaha! What kind of hero is that?"
"She's still in there, right?"
Are they talking about Lamina?
"Of course. Where would she go? The Principal is out for the day and she's tied"
We could hear their voices clearly from inside the Principal's office. He and his bullying buddies teamed up and headed this way.
I should probably inform the ladies. "You can hear them, right? I'll stall them!"
The time needed to activate the skill lessened by a lot each time I used it. Now it was almost instant. Once again, black smoke poured out of my bores and enveloped my body.
If they are coming from the direction of the dorms, I should go behind them and keep them from finding it out I was in the office.
That should buy enough time.
Here it goes!
My body felt quite light as I rushed through the office's wall and appeared behind this group of ignorant bullies.
Three of them ganging up on a girl. How shameful.
Let's have some fun!
I'm not invisible or anything, but this form is intangible. I don't know how long it'll last so I better be quick about it. A few punches should do the trick. Maybe!
But, before that, better check what's on the other side of that wall. If this one goes into the principal's office, then this is…
I peeked outside and almost fell out of the castle. It was the yard and nothing to support my footing.
It's not a bad idea, and they are bullies, so who cares, but it's too risky.
In and out of walls to keep my body out of sight should give me a chance to at least bang them against the wall or something.
But that part will be tricky. A diversion maybe.
They walk too fast and I have little time to think.
Here it goes.
With a body light as a feather and engulfed in black smoke, I kept half my body out of the wall to observe them. That felt creepy. I know for sure I wouldn't want to see that.
It didn't take long to get closer. I grabbed one of them by the head and slammed it against the wall.
A guh sound escaped his mouth and accompanied the thud of his body as it hit the floor.
His blood even got in my mouth, which forced me to step out for a moment. Gross!
The sudden ruckus made them turn. They gasped in surprise after they saw me. I guess it would surprise anyone if a person walked out of a wall covered in smoke.
Djabodi's eyes shot daggers at me as red veins popped on his forehead that bulged, ready to explode. "You…!"
His rage had him spitting blood.
With a fist already surrounded in flames, he launched an attack.
Once more, his fist went through me.
Something weird happened as well.
The smoke increased in volume and covered a large area like a mist on a humid morning.
Like spears, it shot in his direction and covered his whole body.
Meanwhile, his partner came at me with his fist ready. My intangible body let the fist go through.
It didn't take long for the smoke to pull out of him and return to my body.
I felt a burning sensation. As if my gut was about to burst into flames.
I looked at him as anger built up my stomach.
Memories of what he and his buddies did to me and my friends, and now what he tried to do to that girl, all came like a stream in my head.
I charged at him, who remained still.
He sneered. "You have one chance. After that, I'll end you!"
His fear only grew when, unbeknownst to even me, flames enveloped my fist.
I landed my fist straight to his face.
Endless waves of flames burst out of my hand that destroyed the wall behind him.
I made his face unrecognizable with how much I charred it.
His companion tried to run away. I caught up to him and slammed his head to the floor.
A few teeth flew out of his mouth.
My rage subsided when the phone in my pocket rang.
"Hello? Madam Reena?"
['Rikeron? Is everything ok? Can we come out?']
I looked around before I answered. It frightened me. Two students bled on the floor and a well-done student in front of a broken wall.
"It's messy out here, but yeah, it should be fine"
This situation made something clear. This smoke was too similar to the one from that day. It even sucked that guy's ability. But it looks like it was a one-time thing. I can't feel it anymore.
I'll have more time to check that out later.
Madam Reena walked out with Lamina. The black-haired girl looked quite weak.
They both stood frozen. The women gulped at the sight in front of them. They looked at me in disbelief. Madam Reena stuttered. "Wh-What… Happened here?"
Lamina pointed at them. "These are the guys that did that to me!"
She couldn't hold it in as tears streamed down her pale face. Madam Reena embraced her and walked with her past the bleeding students. "You are safe now!"
The explosion from earlier drew unwanted attention.
I escaped with my skill and went straight to my room.
It's certain when those guys wake up I would probably face charges of some sort, but I have no regrets. They had it coming.
The next day, I woke up to the banging on my door.
I prepared myself for the worst when I opened the door. To my surprise, in front of it, stood the Principal.
He walked in and said nothing. He paced back and forth for a few minutes.
The long white hair fluttered as if it danced every time he'd change direction.
A robe that shared the same color covered his body, whilst gold threads served as embroidery.
When we first met, he seemed aloof, but his current mood contrasted that.
At some point, I tried to make eye contact and my eyeballs almost froze.
He must have thought of something because, after a while, he looked at me and shook his head. "You are my student and I want to protect you, but you can't go around restructuring my school"
He sighed before he continued. "From this moment forward, I forbid you to take part in any fight until further notice"
Understandable. Even if he kicked me out, I don't think there would be any resistance on my part. "I understand!"
Madam Reena must've told him what happened. He didn't ask for an explanation.
Moments before he left, the Principal stood by the door and looked at me. "They will investigate and try to blame you for what happened. Keep your head down. If anything happens, seek me out"
A week passed after that, and I haven't seen him. Madam Reena visited me a few times, and we chatted.
I attended class based on the schedule. The other students or teachers said nothing to me. I'm not sure if they knew anything about what happened.
Lamina sought me out, and we had a few conversations.
The week progressed, and everything went back to normal. The bullies were nowhere to be seen, and they buried any news regarding them. It's possible the Principal was behind it.
A few days later, a letter arrived at my door.
