Chereads / Void Heir: Rikeron / Chapter 10 - Useless Teacher

Chapter 10 - Useless Teacher

He looked at me and growled. He squinted his eyes while he kept staring at me.

I chuckled internally. 'This muscle head doesn't recognize me!'

"Yeah, wow intimidating. Now Shush, I'm trying to watch the matches!"

I looked at the Arena, but I kept them all in my sight from the corner of my eye. I glimpsed at a familiar face behind the muscles.

"Hey, Rollen, why don't you come to sit next to me and watch?"

The young man widened his eyes and tried to go through the tree-like arms that hang over him when the gorilla grabbed his shoulder and pinned him down.

The burly student sneered. "Mind your own business!"

Mind yours, you overblown idiot. I really can't stand them, heroes. "Hey, useless teacher! Little help here!"

My shout turned the stage's gazes in my direction. The teacher glared at me and turned the other way. The two combatants stopped fighting.

They looked at each other and nodded. They walked off the stage and approached me. I turned my head slightly. "That's Rollen from our class!"

I don't know why, but they approached that group and pulled the powerless Rollen from the idiot's grasp. They brought him next to me and returned to the stage.

One of them uttered. "Useless!"

I think he meant me. Well, it's true, so no hard feelings. The Principal placed a ban on me and I'm not allowed to fight.

Gorilla, speechless, went after them at the stage. He was about to strike them when the teacher interfered. With a single palm strike to his chest, he sent him flying through the castle's walls.

Hmm. It looks like even some of these prestigious teachers are like that. I can understand the normal teachers but these being rotten is out of my expectation. Because it was a powerless individual who needed help, he didn't lift a finger, but he helped those with powers.

How is behavior like that suited for a hero?

Rollen sitting next to me rolled his eyes at him. "Rotten!"

Yeap. We agree on this. "Indeed, he is!"

Startled by my reply, he stuttered. "Th-Thank you...!"

"Don't worry about it!"

Gorilla's group disbanded, and we remained seated on that bench, watching one fight after the other in silence. We didn't bother each other with meaningless small talk, neither did we avert our eyes from the stage.

At some point when everyone finished, the teacher called out to me. "Rikeron, you are up!"

Huh? What is he talking about? "I'm not allowed to fight!"

"Yes, I know that, but your classmates don't"

Oh, so he yelled that to let them know and explain why I didn't act. Despite that, you are a rotten teacher who doesn't help those in need.

"What are you waiting for? Get up here?"

Still? Dude, I'm gonna get in trouble. I don't think he'll back up.

A sigh escaped my mouth. "Who am I fighting?"

He sneered at me, which made everyone gasp. "This useless teacher!"

Rollen, who sat next to me, jumped up. "I'll go get help!"

I stood up and walked towards the stage. While doing so, I let the black smoke pour out of my body. I've seen this guy's strength, and it's nothing to laugh about.

The moment I stepped on that stage, a powerful force blew past me. I didn't even see what happened, but I heard screams coming from behind me.

I turned around, and I saw a person who took the impact. It buried him in the wall whilst the benches behind the tempered glass exploded.

The attack didn't harm me, but I felt my heartbeat rise. My knees trembled and air didn't enter my lungs.

I looked at him and noticed his irritation. I heard him mumbling, and he launched another attack of a stronger force.

The same thing happened, but fortunately, no one got hurt this time.

"What's up with your power? Why don't my hits land?"

This doesn't feel right. "Just because I called you useless, you are trying to kill me?"

He looks at me with bloodshot eyes. "Huh? Who cares about that? If that idiot muscle head went after you instead of the wimp we wouldn't be in this situation!"

As I thought. Someone put him up to it. "You are the one who sent Gorilla after me?"

"I did, but the idiot forgot what your face looked like..."

He kept mumbling for a good while. He took a few deep breaths and attacked again. This time he rushed at me and punched me with his full force. His hand went through me, but the impact that landed behind me was larger than the previous one. A wall even collapsed.

"Why? I did nothing to you!"

He didn't answer. Instead, he snarled and threw a few more punches. It didn't have an effect, but fatigue showed its signs as I sweated and gasped for breath.

That's when the smoke poured out in larger amounts and covered him.

He screamed as he tried to go out of it, but the smoke took its time and casually returned to my body.

My senses heightened, and power surged through my veins. 'Did I get his power?'

Sweet! I faced the opposite way and threw an uppercut. The force ripped out the tiles of the Arena and floated them high for several minutes before they crushed down to dozens of pieces.

The teacher squeaked and took a few steps back. I remained motionless and stared at him.

The black smoke retracted back into my body.

The force I showed made everyone watching gasp.

The teacher gulped and let out a howl like a crazed animal. He charged at me and directed his fist towards me.

Without the smoke, I'm vulnerable and I can't fight back because I gave my word. I closed my eyes for a second and when I opened them; he was already in front of me, ready to strike.

I can see his punch heading straight to my face.

I flinched on instinct when long white hair dropped in front of me.

The Principal appeared and stopped the punch with his hand. His hair fluttered from the impact, but he remained unscathed.

As he held the teacher's fist in his hand, he twisted it and planted him whole to the ground.

He turned to face me with a smile. "Are you ok?"
