Chapter 33 - A/N Chapter 31: The Past

Crystal's POV

Psst...

PssTt...

PSSTT!!..Wake up, Crystal!

I slowly stirred awake and opened my eyes to see a small glowing white orb hovering over my body.

"Huh?! What the heck? Where am I?! Who are you?" My eyes widened in confusion as I quickly sat up and backed away from the floating ball with my hands in front of me, ready to defend myself.

"Well, it has been a while since we last chit-chatted, so I guess I can forgive you for forgetting me. And quit being so cautious will you, no one is going to hurt you here." The glowing ball said emphasizing on the here, it wasn't until she mentioned it that I realized where I was. I wasn't in my dorm anymore which was odd because I remember myself getting in bed and going to sleep last night.

I was in the middle of a plain white room, no one else except for the floating white orb and I. After taking a quick look at my surroundings, I placed my attention back on the glowing orb as I crossed my arms.

"Why am I here? And who exactly are you? How do you know my name?" I said in a serious tone as I watched as the ball floated closer to me making me back away a little.

"Aww, you're hurting my feelings, Crystal. I guess you forgot how I healed you during all the drama you and your friends went through before." My eyes widened in shock and relief as I slowly walked towards it.

"Celeste? Is that you?!" The orb let out a small giggle at my question.

"Took you long enough!" I stood there speechless before running up to the orb and wrapping my arms around it.

"Hey, Celeste. Sorry I didn't recognize you earlier. But anyways where have you been? I haven't heard from you since the incident?" I asked letting my arms fall back down on my sides.

"Well, you could say I just took a short nap, healing you was exhausting you know, so I needed to recharge."

"Oh okay, I guess that makes sense, but I have another question. Where exactly are we?" I asked referring to the large plain white room we were in.

"We're in your mind silly! So you can think of anything and it'll happen. But you could also say your dreaming since your body's sleeping." She explains in a cheery tone as I tilted my head in confusion.

"But why is it so blank? And why are you and I the only ones here then?"

"Hmm... I guess you wanted to talk to me then, and about all of this being blank, I think it comes with sleeping I guess, you might end up dreaming about something later." My mouth made an o shape as I took in this new information.

"And so since I'm here now you can tell me all about what's been going on!" Celeste suggested as I just nodded my head.

"Oh..okay sure but where do I start. Hmm...Well for starters Sera, you know one of my friends, the one with magenta-colored hair. Well, she came back to school, but after the whole "she lost her ability" drama before, I feel like there's something in the pit of my stomach that's trying to warn me about something but I don't know what. I just don't know what's going to happen once things start going downhill from here." I explained burying my face in my hands as I looked down at the plain white floor below me.

"Well, I guess we won't know things until we experience them, right?" I looked up at her and gave her a small smile.

"Your right. But I'm afraid that things might get really bad soon, and I wanna know how to stop it before it happens"

"I mean you could always use your ability to you know...read their minds to find out what exactly?" I snapped my head to her in disbelief.

"What! No way I would never do that to them, it's an invasion of their privacy. And besides, Mom always told me to never use my ability for my benefit...only if I needed it. Plus I still need some practice before I can use it properly, I don't want to have another headache." I say rolling my eyes.

"Well, you can start right now!" My ears perked up.

"Huh? What do you mean now?"

"I mean, you are in your mind right now, so why not start your practice by "visualizing" what you want to happen."

"Ohhhhh, okay okay I'll try. But what do I visualize first?" I said placing a finger on my chin before stroking it.

"Maybe start by visualizing me in a different form! Being a ball is getting old. Maybe turn me into something else like uhmm...a person?"

"Okay, here goes nothing then" I then closed my eyes and focused on Celeste, and imagined her as a person. I felt myself get light-headed but just shrugged the feeling off, and continued to concentrate.

"Yes! You did it, Crystal!" I snapped my open and was taken aback by what I saw. I saw...myself?! It was as if I was looking at myself in the mirror except it didn't look like me. The other me had snow-white hair but it was only up to her shoulders and she had dark royal blue eyes with rosy pink cheeks.

"Celeste? Is that you?" The girl let out a giggle before giving me a wide smile.

"Did you notice that it's the second time you asked me that?" I let out a sigh before returning her smile.

"So this is your human form? It looks so cute!!

"Thanks! It does feel good to feel like a person huh?" I chuckled at her as she touches her arms and her legs. But my smile slowly turned into a frown as I recalled something I thought of before. Should I ask her now? Would she answer it? Maybe I should just tell her. There is no harm in trying right? I let out a long sigh before looking up at the girl with a serious face.

"Hey, Celeste...You said you would tell me more about yourself before. Can you tell me now?" The girl's eyes widened for a split second before relaxing as she walked closer to me.

"Alright...I guess I do owe you an explanation. So what do you wanna know first?" I looked down at my fingers with narrowed eyes, thinking about what she said.

"Where did you come from? Surely not everyone...you know has someone like you who has healing abilities and lives in your mind right?

"....." I waited patiently as Celeste furrowed her eyebrows and stared at the floor, she was hesitant.

"Do you...remember what happened on that night? My mouth slightly parted as I recalled the dream I had before, those dreams, those awful memories I had that I could never forget.

"Y-Yes, I do. Why do you ask?" She let out a sigh before turning her back towards me.

"How much of it do you remember?"

"Umm...Well, I remember the time when my mom and I were being chased by some guys wearing all black and-"

"No! A little farther from that. Do you remember the time when you were...kidnapped?" I stared at the white-haired girl in confusion as I tapped my foot on the plain white floor.

"No, I don't remember. Wait- I was kidnapped?!" I shouted in shock as I stood there wide-eyed

"Yes, you were. But I guess you forgot over time..."

"Huh!? But- How-!? What happened Celeste? Why was I kidnapped?! " I didn't give the girl any time to respond as I let out a deep sigh before I stood up and walked away, she was about to open her mouth to speak until I cut her off.

"I just...need to process this, you don't have to worry. I'll be back" I reassured the girl before I continued walking further away from her. Maybe I shouldn't have left her there alone, I acted impulsive deciding to walk away from her. But can she blame me? I just learned I was kidnapped in the past, my mom's mom not even bothering to tell me about it. I shouldn't get mad at Celeste for trying to comfort me...I better get back to her and apologize. My eyes snapped up as I got an idea, I took a deep breath before slowly closing my eyes.

Celeste told me I could imagine anything and it would appear, so maybe I can...I opened my eyes again to see a floating bed of clouds with a cold strawberry smoothie and freshly heated hash browns beside it. A wide grin made its way up to my lips as I climbed onto the soft and fluffy furniture and sat down. A grin made its way up to my lips as began making my way back to Celeste. I just hope she isn't mad at me. As the bed flew fast, a familiar figure came into view as I made the bed land right next to her. Her eyes were glued to the ground as her back was hunched back.

"Hey, Celeste... I'm sorry I left you out of the blue. And I shouldn't have done that in the first place. I was just surprised and mad at the same time...The girl lifted her head and faced me, nodding her head understandingly.

"It's no big deal Crystal, you have every right to feel that way. And I'm glad you seem to be feeling better."

"Yeah! the food and the bed lighten up my mood. But... I think I'm ready to hear the whole story now. Since I don't remember, maybe you could tell me all about it?" I smiled at the girl as she smiled back.

"Your right, maybe it is time you remembered. But where do I start-"

"Wait! You can't start a story without a comfy seat, here." And as I said that, a blue armchair with a recliner appeared out of now where, and I didn't have to close my eyes.

"Hey, I did it!" We both let out a laugh at my enthusiasm, Celeste then took a seat and glanced up at me.

"Well, it all started one night..."
