3RD POV
{7:55 PM}
"Honey, are you ready yet? We should get going now" Damon shouted out from the bottom of the stairs as he straightened his tuxedo. Not long after, a beautiful lady wearing a dark red off-shoulder dress that stopped a few inches below her knees with her natural platinum blonde hair left unstyled sped down the stairs with her purse in her hand.
"Yes I am, but shouldn't we just bring Christy with us? I really don't see why we should just leave her here" Amelia said motioning her head over to little Christy who was sitting on the couch watching tv.
Damon grabbed Amelia's hands and held them in his. "Lia, we already talked about this haven't we? She's going to be just fine plus Sam will be staying here with her so I'm sure no harm would come to our little angel." He said comfortingly as the lady nodded her head.
"Fine, if you say so. But when is he going to arrive?"
"I texted him earlier, and he said he'll be here in a few minutes."
"Okay, that's good. Well, I'm just going to check if there are still some snacks for Christy in case she gets hungry, why don't you go tell her about Sam coming over so she knows."
The man nodded his head before heading over to little Christy, taking a seat beside her. Feeling the couch sink beside her, little Christy snapped her head to her side as her cute golden eyes laid on her father. A big grin made its way up to her face as she prepared to pounce on him but suddenly stopped when her eyes averted on the black suit her father was wearing.
"Daddy? Where are you going?" The girl said with a hint of confusion in her voice as her father patted her head softly.
"Well, Daddy and Mommy are going out tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary." The man explained to her daughter as she nodded her head in understanding.
"Woah! That sounds fun! Can I go with you guys? I wanna go too!" She clenched her fist in excitement as her father let out a sad sigh.
"I'm sorry sweetie but you can't. Only adults can go there"
"B-but I am old enough!" Little Christy stood up placing her hand on her chest as she looked at her father determined to go.
"Your only 4 Christy"
"No, I'm not! I'm like 4 and a half!" The man chuckled at his daughter's determination then scooped her up and place her on his hip holding her tightly before standing up.
"How about this, why don't we go to the amusement park first thing tomorrow. But in one condition." Christy stared at her father.
"What is it?"
"You'll have to let Mommy and Daddy go out tonight."
"B-but, whose going to stay here with me then?"
Before her father could answer the little girl's question, the doorbell rang making her mother rush back towards the front door as the other two did the same. Damon slowly sat little Christy back down as Amelia opened the door. Christy hid behind her father's legs as she gripped them, looking confused and mad that some stranger entered her house all of a sudden.
"Sam! I'm so glad you could come. Thank you for agreeing to take care of our little girl, I hope it wasn't too much of a hassle to your schedule."
"Oh, don't mention it, Damon. I'd love to take care of little Christy for you guys. Now..where is the little girl?" Christy tugged on her father's pants making him look down at her, immediately feeling a wave of guilt wash over him as he saw that Christy lost her grip on his pants and she held her hands instead.
"Just a second Sam, I just need to talk to Christy. Why don't you make yourself comfortable in the meantime? Honey, can you show him the kitchen please." His wife nodded her head as she began leading Sam towards the kitchen.
But right before the man was completely out of the room Christy caught a glimpse of the strange man staring at her with a wide grin on his face making the girl clench her fist trying her best to hide the fear building up inside her. But at the same time, the wide grin the strange man had on may appeared to be a cheery one seemed to be a grin of a psychopath, at least that was what was going on in the little girl's mind. Damon led Christy by the hand towards the living room as he knelt in front of her.
"What's wrong Angel? You seem anxious" The girl fidgeted with her fingers as her father began to worry for the girl.
"Why are you leaving me with a stranger?" The girl said confused and angry as her father's eyes widened.
"What are you talking about sweetie? He isn't a stranger, he's my friend and I trust that he will take care of you."
"But I don't feel safe with him! What if s-something happens? He's really sending me bad vibes..." The girl's eyes began to water as her Father wrapped her arms around the small girl, trying his best to stop her from crying.
"I was planning to give this to you on your birthday but here." Mr. White let go of the little girl as he reached for something in his pocket making Christy stop crying and turn towards her father's hand, with curiosity and excitement in her eyes. Damon then held out his fist and slowly opened it, revealing a beautiful gold heart-shaped locket with intricate designs on the sides.
"May I?" Crystal nodded her head and turned around moving her hair out of the way, allowing Mr. White to put the locket around her neck. After he did so the girl turned back around and held the locket in my hands, as she stared at the beautiful item in awe.
"There's something on the back of it" She turned the locket around just like her father said and what was written on it made her grin like a Cheshire cat.
You're never alone because we're always here. Love Mom & Dad
"So if you ever feel sad or lonely, you can just...look at this." Damon opens the locket up revealing a picture of the three of them smiling together. Christy placed her small fingers on top of the picture feeling something warm in her chest replacing the anger and confusion she felt earlier.
"Do you like it, Christy?" Mr. White said looking at her daughter's face, Christy snapped her head up and started bouncing up and down.
"Like it? I Love it! Thank you, Daddy!" The girl shouted in joy as she wrapped her arms around the check of her father as he did the same.
"I'm glad you loved it Christy but your Mommy and I have to get going now or we'll be late," Damon said as he stood up looking at her daughter giving her a small smile.
"Okay, you guys have fun. Just make sure to remember to bring me some take-out!" He nodded his head as she bent down and kissed the top of the little girl's head.
"Okay, but I have one more thing to tell you. If there is ever an emergency while we're away just press this button and we'll come straight back here. Do you understand Christy?" Damon said to her with seriousness in his voice as he pointed at a little button in the middle of the necklace, the girl stood up straight and did the salute pose.
"Roger that! Now go! You don't want to be late do you?" Christy said pointing at her Fathers watch as his eyes widened.
"Your absolutely right. Now let's call your Mom over and we'll be on our way."
Damon called Amelia who just finished explaining some house rules to Sam as they both emerged from the kitchen. But before leaving Amelia, Christy's mom approached the little girl wrapping the girl in a tight hug as she struggled to breathe.
"I love you, Christy! Don't worry we'll come back soon, we won't stay too long out. So now be a good girl and go to bed early tonight, okay? No candy after dinner and no movies before sleeping. Understood?" Little Christy nodded her head giving her Mother a big hug.
"Yes, I understand. Just remember to come back home early okay?" Christy said whispering the last part as she glanced over to sam who just stood beside the door staring at her.
"Yes, we promise," Amelia whispered in her daughter's ear as she gave her one more kiss on her forehead. After saying their last goodbyes and reminders, they closed the door leaving Little Christy and Damon's friend, Sam all alone in the house.
