"Sorry you're awake," Dana finally open his voice first.
"It's okay," Jani smiled simply.
Dana walked towards her. Then sat right next to Jani.
"Have you eaten?" Jani asked as usual as if they were fine.
These few days it seemed as if there had never been a problem that made Jani move back from the game Dana was creating.
"Yes," just like that.
Dana looked into Jani's eyes meaningfully.
Jani noticed that there were many things that Dana wanted to say, but this man seemed to choose silence. Jani will try her best. The past few days have been really tough for her. It was as if Dana had pulled her heart out.
Hugging her man from the side while closing her eyes for a moment. See if everything is really okay. Dana tensed up without returning Jani's hug which brought a wry smile to her lips.
Is it okay if she is greedy more than what is destined for her? Jani smelled the scent of the man she missed. Again the girl smiled wryly. The difference, this time suddenly she felt like her heart was squeezed. Excruciating pain. Her eyes burst into tears without being asked. Drop by drop but she was still trying to catch her breath so as not to sob.
The man was still silent without replying or speaking a word. Like a statue, cold and untouchable. Jani was unable to dive into the hearts and minds of her lover. After being able to control herself, Jani let go of her arm.
"Get some rest, I also want to go to the room first, okay?" Jani smiled then stood up from her seat.
However, Dana managed to block her hand. "I beg you, not now, Dan!" Jani thought.
"Shall we talk for a moment?" said Dana.
Jani has no excuse. She nodded weakly then sat back down.
"If I told you there was another woman, would you still want to stick with me?" Jani just wanted to run when without an introductory sentence, the man beside her got to the point of the matter.
Jani guessed that the woman in question was Rey. "I know you haven't worked overtime for the past few days," Jani squeezed her cold hands.
Her heart felt heavy to discuss their current problems. Her heart wasn't ready if something happened that she was afraid of.
Jani lowered her head. "Is everything about Rey?" Jani raised her head and looked at Dana.
Even though her suspicions were too strong, Jani still wanted Dana to say no.
But Jani swallowed a bitter pill when Dana nodded his head, "How did you know?" Dana asked with a frown.
Jani smiled with tears falling again. Dana is like being hit by an invisible object. Seeing Jani like this made him feel guilty. He is an asshole. Pulling Jani into his life only to be hurt like this.
"I found a photo on the page of Zahir's novel," Jani managed to catch her breath so she could speak fluently. "You also compared me to a girl named Reyna once. I know for the past few day you were with other woman and also there are a lot of woman's stuff in my room. At first I was just guessing but now I'm more convinced after smelling a woman's perfume. Isn't it possible if you use vanilla scented perfume?" Janie chuckled.
But instead of making Dana chuckle, she made the man dumbfounded when he saw Jani's tears dripping more heavily than before and the discordant chuckles that added to the burden on his shoulders.
"Sorry," was the only word that came out of the man she loved.
Instead of making her heart lighten, it only grew more painful and congested. "You can leave me Jani. I have no right to detain you if you want to go. I'm an asshole," Dana gripped Jani's cold fingers.
"Are you going back with that woman?" Jani ventured to ask questions that might make her heart roar.
"Not yet," Dana answered curtly.
The answer is getting more and more complicated.
"Not yet? What… do you intend to go back with her?" Jani is still chasing a definite answer from a Dana.
"Maybe yes, maybe not," again Jani breathed heavily.
Her tears were getting harder and harder for her to control. "Then?" Jani is still trying to figure out which parts of her relationship with Dana could be repaired.
"I still want to have Reyna back. I'm sorry what I said must have hurt you," Dana said, looking straight into Jani's eyes.
Smiling and shaking her head firmly, "You've dared to be honest with me, it's better than continuing behind my back and worse if you get back with her and you still hangs on my status," Jani tried to sound strong even though her voice almost trembled.
She's great at being able to control herself so far.
"I know you must be very disappointed in me."
Jani again shook her head, "Not only disappointed but also very hurt. But I'm not the controller of people's feelings. Now what do you want us to be like?"
"What do you mean?" Dana asked back because he did not understand Jani's request.
"Do you want me to give up or what?" Jani choked a little.
"I don't want you to give up Jani, not in the slightest."
"Then I have to keep fighting by myself like this? You know, sometimes I feel really tired of our relationship but I also find it hard to let go of you just like that. Please help me by making things easier," Jani looked straight ahead.
Dana sighed wearily. The man released the grip on Jani's fingers which made the girl feel a big loss in her heart. Dana brushed her hair.
"Could you give me some time to sort things out? I can't promise whether I will stay with you or I will return to her. It's just, I think you already have a little bit of my heart," Jani frowned as she waited for Dana's next sentence. "I think getting used to you made my heart change a little. I'm not sure what the clear words to describe my feelings for you. But, can you stick with me for a little longer? I'm not insisting, you can refuse me if you don't agree with my ridiculous-sounding request," Dana hoped Jani would answer that she would.
He is selfish, but let him be selfish this time. Because after this whoever will accompany him, he will defend. Not only that, Dana's age is ripe for marriage, let's just say that the result of Dana's request to Jani is the finalization of his future wife. Dana's mind scoffed, getting a wife in a greedy way. Dana have gone too crazy.
Jani was surprised to hear Dana's request. Should she agree? What if Dana doesn't belong to her anymore? What if only Jani was hurt? Various questions immediately flocked to come out of her brain. She held back any questions that might only make things worse. Jani looked deeply at Dana. Trying to dive into the heart and mind through the man's eyeballs. Jani gave up.
