Chapter 14 - Moving into Andre's Home

Darren was unwilling to let Layla stay in Andre's house in the first place. Once he saw Andre refuse, he immediately wanted to bring Layla back.

Layla looked at the skull that was eyeing her greedily from afar. It was obvious that the evil spirit had been enraged by Layla's actions. Even the green flames around its body had darkened.

The evil spirit really wanted to kill this crafty woman right now!

Layla was sure that as soon as she left the range of Andre's protection, the evil spirit would definitely punish her severely, and might even take her life!

At this thought, Layla said to her father, "Dad, can you give me a chance to convince Uncle Andre?"

Seeing how persistent his daughter was, Darren could only agree.

Layla pushed her wheelchair in front of Andre and praised him with a few words in a high-sounding manner first, expressing her desire to learn from him.

Then, she looked at Andre meaningfully and said, "I heard that all the men in your Brian family are indomitable and responsible men. Layla believes that you won't escape your responsibility, right, Uncle Andre Brian?"

Layla deliberately emphasized Andre's name at the end.

Layla was hinting to Andre; she knew that he was the culprit who caused her to be unable to move her legs now.

Earlier, Layla had seen Andre's cars in the parking lot. One of them was the black Mercedes-Benz SUV that had hit her that night.

Layla had already checked previously that this car was a limited edition. Now, Layla was even more certain that Andre was the driver who had caused the accident that night!

Since all of this was caused by Andre hitting her, then it was his fate to take responsibility now!

Andre naturally understood what Layla meant by that. However, it seemed like this young lady had mistaken him as that driver who had caused the hit-and-run.

However, as Andre looked into Layla's bright and determined eyes, he couldn't bear to embarrass this young lady in her face.

Moreover, the accident that night was also a consequence of him chasing after the murderer. He was responsible indeed.

Since this was the case, Andre sighed and agreed to Layla's request to stay here and learn from him.

With this outcome, Darren didn't dare to say anything else. He repeatedly asked Andre to take good care of Layla before leaving.

Seeing that the president had left, there was no longer any need for Andre to stay in the living room. He simply instructed the servants to prepare a room for Layla and went upstairs.

Layla saw that Andre was leaving. How could she let him?!

Not far away, there was still a vengeful evil spirit waiting for her to be alone!

With every step that Andre took, Layla would follow behind and push her wheelchair after him. When he took two steps, she would speed up and match his pace.

No matter how gentlemanly Andre was, he felt a little impatient at this point. "What on earth do you want to do?!"

Layla blinked her big innocent eyes. Of course, she could not say, "You are my amulet now. Only by staying by your side will the evil spirit be unable to hurt me!"

"Uncle Andre, of course, I'm learning from you. How am I supposed to learn if I don't stay by your side?" Layla felt a little guilty, but she still pretended to be serious as she spoke.

Andre raised an eyebrow. As the former head of the Brian family and the vice president of the company, he had experienced many things since he was young. Of course, this childish trick of Layla's could not escape his eyes.

He knew that Layla had ulterior motives, but he still wasn't sure what this young woman wanted from him right now.

However, any woman who tried to get close to him would definitely suffer misfortune.

Hence, Andre gazed at Lela's exquisite face, but the words that came out of his mouth were cold and heartless.

"Young lady, don't try to be clever with me. I understand very well that this is not what you want. Stop following me!" With that said, he turned around and quickly walked upstairs.

This time, Layla was dumbfounded. No matter how good the quality of her wheelchair was, she couldn't get up the stairs.

"Uncle Andre! I can't go up the stairs. Can you give me a lift?" Layla asked as she spread open her arms.

"No." Andre refused without hesitation. He needed this girl to know when to back off.

"Andre, you promised my father that you would take good care of me!" The young girl panicked and didn't even add the word 'uncle' anymore!

"That doesn't mean that I should give in to everything you want," Andre replied without looking back as he continued upstairs.

What a heartless man! In a huff, Layla cursed angrily in her heart.

Just as this thought appeared in Layla's mind, she saw two tall servants coming down from upstairs. They carried the wheelchair—along with Layla—up the staircase.
