They'd be sitting down on an old red couch near a fireplace giving the cottage a comforting look to it. Though there was no comfort present as the cheetah shifter would be staring at Haru with a questioning expression as if he just found out something, the small baby would still be drinking the rest of the warm milk as he questioned him.
"Your not brother and sister," he broke the silence as cold sweat dripped down Haru's neck. "No.." He'd chirp back in an almost hushed tone, it wasn't a lie though but it also didn't help his situation.
"Children of your generation I swear, always having pups, and cubs at an early age," the man would shake his head from left to right as he placed a hand over his forehead. This made Haru tilt his head as he quickly understood what the man must have thought.
"So, what's her name and your name? We should also get those wounds treated as quickly as possible," he'd now be pointing at Haru with a calm, dare he say almost a friendly look to him.
Though this offer only made Haru stiffen at the thought of the man finding out what he was. "My name is Haru and this is..." He'd think back to the two pear trees he found her by.
"This little one is Kaito but with all due respect, I don't want to be such a bother," he'd frantically wave his hands in the air while a crooked smile danced on his face.
However, it was far too late as the man had already gotten up to get a first aid kit. "It's not ok to be running around with your daughter while being injured, what if she's in danger and you're too hurt to help her hm?"
At this point, the man would be standing right in front of Haru staring down at the naive boy which sat on his couch. He'd only look down at his palms before mumbling.
The man now having a confused look on his face would watch as Haru took off the dirty old coat he had wrapped on top of his waist, allowing all nine of his tails to spring up and let loose curling around him and Kaito.
"Ah, I see why you're so uptight now, don't worry I'm not one to rat out another for their species after all you can't change who you were born as." He spoke calmly with a tone of carefulness as if not to frighten him in some way.
"I'll lay some clothes out for you, for now, both of you go take a bath you need to get that dry blood off you and your wounds and you wouldn't want her to get sick from the dirt" The man would point to the room behind him.
Haru would shoot the man a look of shock and gratefulness as he slowly nodded to the man before taking Kaito heading to the bathroom. The bathroom would have a stone wall near the tub as a semi-large mirror was placed on top of the counter of the sink, the counter having a basket of flowers and other things making Haru look around to take in the coziness of it.
Walking over to the tub he sat Kaito down on the bathroom floor before turning on the tab allowing the water to fill up the tub, mixing in soap to make a bubble before undressing himself, and Kaito sat down as the warm water hit them instantly making Haru relax as he soon began washing her and himself while she played with the bubble foam making him smile.
"You really are adorable huh little one," he'd start playing in the foam with her as she giggled at his actions. A knock could be heard from the door as the man would creek it open before slipping a hand in to place the stack of clothes along with the footsteps of him walking away.
With this Haru would step out before getting dressed in the oversized clothes picking up Kaito and doing the same as he'd grab the dirt-covered clothes on the floor heading out of the bathroom to greet him.
"Oh, your finish good, well put her on the couch and you sit on the stool so I can get those wounds treated," the man now pointing a finger up optimistically. Doing as he was told he'd sit her down on the couch that was closest to him as he sat still.
"What was your name sir," the small thing would question the slim man applying things such as anti peroxide and dressing.
"Buck Williams but you can call me Buck for short," now having a chuckle to his voice as Haru flinched at the sting of a gash being touched.
Buck Williams, Haru mumbled to himself why was he being so kind to strangers he just met? Was it because of Kaito... Did he rat us out and lie to keep us from running? Loud breathing could be heard as a large gap of thoughts consumed Haru only to be broken away by a pat on the head.
"I'm not planning to sell you, nor hurt you I promise," trying to reassure the frightened thing that sat in front of him, the man would leave for a moment only to come back with a fresh cup of tea to try to soothe his pain and stress.
Nearly downing the whole thing Haru would let out a gasp before turning his gaze to the man who was nearly done rapping him with bandages. "Thank you.." a murmur could be heard escaping his lips as he looked down to the floor with a weak smile.
"No problem, there is a bowl of beef stew with rice on the table you should eat something. I'll go grab the extra pillows and blankets for you and your daughter." He would have a genuine smile on his face as Haru nodded.
"How can I repay you," he'd look back at the man while heading to the kitchen to grab the hot bowl of stew that sat neatly on the wooden island, the scent making Haru wag his tails in agreement with the sight.
"We'll discuss that in the morning get some rest your bones need to heal so it's best if you get you to go to sleep now, your body is exhausted but you refuse to acknowledge it," the man would comment before heading upstairs, rustling could be heard as footsteps echoed through the wood.
Haru would sit down on the couch quickly finishing the bowl of stew as the kind man put down old but soft blankets with two pillows, allowing slumber to take over as he put the empty bowl on the coffee table before laying down to the already sleeping Kaito, cradling her close to him as he succumbed to his sleep.
The next day was scintillating as the chirping of birds could be heard along with cars driving by making Rukia get up with a groan as he went to the bathroom, brushing his teeth before taking a shower as usual.
"How would I greet the old geezer this time, won't be too happy I lost his new prize now, will he?" Another groan could be heard escaping his lips as he headed out the door, putting his coat on as he made his way to his beautiful car with a wonderful broken window making his face have an aggravated tone to it.
Nearing a tunnel that was off the road he'd quickly drive into the darkness which lasted for two minutes as he'd pop out the other end to be met with a large cavern that was covered in markets, housing, and more. The scent of uneasiness along with disgustingness filled the air as he drove past the screaming people swinging signs while others motioned to their goods.
Rukia would soon drive into a slopped garage which was located near a bidding house, parking his car before walking upstairs, ignoring everything and one near him as he made his way to an office which was marked, "Balo Monroe".
Heading inside the room in a swift motion the chair would turn around for him to be met with an old slim looking man, a blind eye with a scar on top laced half his face, and his nasty almost elf-like ears twitched at the sound of the man approaching him.
Stopping almost instantly he'd bow before standing back up with his hands behind his back staring at the old man who was completely turned around at this point holding a cane with a shiny diamond which was used as the handle a snake being engraved in it.
"So, tell me why the shipment hasn't arrived yet Norowareta ōkami," the man would now be staring at Rukia as his words left him with a dry expression.
"It got away while I was off guard as I thought it was sleeping, it took a pair of scissors and broke my window to escape through a dense forest. Though with all due respect I can find him within a week," his voice would now sound more formal and direct than usual as he dare not show fear in front of this man.
"Why did he escape?" The man would question with an all to annoyed tone towards him now as he crossed his feet on the desk. A loud murmur would escape his lips and he began to dig into his palms. "I was inside of the store when it happened about the time I went out he was gone along with his scent."
"So, you're telling me one of the best hellhounds I own couldn't find a dam fox Norowareta ōkami?" Bolo would now be up walking towards Rukia with his cane, each tap of it making Rukia narrow his eyes. "No, but I can sir within a week," a gulp could be heard as the man was now standing in front of him.
"One week, if you don't I'll let your brothers have a new chew toy," He held his face with a blank expression as if he were staring at a pawn of a chessboard. "Yes master, I can assure you I will," he'd bark back almost robotically as the man was now inches from his face.
"You better."
