Salvadora Silverton was standing outside of her house waiting for her brother Sam. "Come on fast Sam! Or I will be heading out soon."
A sweat came to her forehead, she wiped it with a handkerchief. It was getting really hot and Sam was taking too much time.
"Gimme a minute!" Sam shouted from inside the house.
Sam was getting ready. He really wanted to impress Sal, so that she would have no reason to leave him behind.
"Ok! ok! I am waiting," said Salvadora.
'Why the hell's he's taking so much time? what's he doing for so long,' she wondered.
Sam arrived with a flashlight, camera, and some batteries, he looked like he was going to some kind of serious investigation.
Salvadora nearly laughed and said, "Why are trying to look like a professional investigator? We're just going to explore some things."
"Because I am. Besides, when I get famous, then I won't just need to look like a professional, I'll need to be an actual one," he said with an attitude and smiled like he was so proud of himself for doing nothing.
Sal laughed because of his hilarious act. "Just keep dreaming and dreaming and dreaming, bro," she sang hilariously.
Sam frowned, he liked making jokes, but when someone overplays him, he just doesn't like it.
"By the way, where are we going?" asked the boy with excitement. He knew that this question will steal the smile from his sister's face.
The little boy was really excited to go, while the big sister was annoyed that her brother was coming.
"Um…if you want to come with me then don't ask silly questions!" Replied Salvadora with anger.
Sometimes, Sal gets really angry. Sam knows exactly how to get under her skin.
Though it was a general question to ask, Sal just didn't want to answer that question at any cost.
He didn't expect that, he thought Sal would just be annoyed a little bit. But, her mood completely changed in a second.
"Umm...okay, understood," he said quietly.
Salvadora realized that she had overreacted a bit too much. 'I am the elder sister of Sam, I have all the rights to be angry, don't I have?' she thought.
Salvadora and Sam weren't the closest siblings, but they always shared things that they don't tell their mom and dad.
"We are going to a place to complete an assignment, you said you wanted to come too, so I am doing the same. I didn't mean to shout Sam."
They reached the Highway, where all their friends decided to meet up.
After waiting for few minutes, a duo of a boy and girl arrived. Sam smiled at the girl raising an eyebrow, spotted Salvadora.
The boy wore a blue half sleeves shirt with white trousers. The girl was in a casual dress, a red midi dress with a bow.
Before anyone could say anything, Adaline Cady smiled and said, "Hi Sam, nice to meet you."
The boy was Alex Cady, Salvadora's best friend. At least, for now, he was. With him was his little sister, Adaline Cady.
Adaline used to come with her brother since she was little, she used to tell Alex that she likes Salvadora, but the actual reason was 'Samuel Silverton'. Salvadora and Alex both knew the actual truth.
"Can we move now?" Alex asked.
Then Sam saw that they were standing in front of an old creepy house. It was surrounded by dust and tall trees like it was a haunted house.
It was painted pink, The windows were all boarded up as if what was inside was too terrible to see.
They all got chills by only seeing it, they wondered what will happen when they will actually enter.
"Guys, why are we standing here? I mean in front of this creepy house," asked Sam totally freaked out.
"Sammy, I had already told you not to come because in this work we need adults," Salvadora said frustrated.
"Actually, we thought to go to a monument, but then we decided if we will reveal the secrets buried inside this creepy house then we will certainly win and get the opportunity to visit 'Disney land' and we will be on the television shows too!" Said Alex defending Salvadora.
Sam thought that it's nice to visit such an amazing theme park, but going in the mouth of danger wasn't something as easy as a pie.
Everybody sensed the danger, but the place was so hypnotizing, they couldn't resist it.
So, he asked, "Have you guys told your parents about it?" This question spread silence on everyone's face.
"Sis, have you told mum and dad about this?" he tried again.
Then finally she answered, "I have just told them that we are going to explore some things."
Sal felt guilty for not telling mom and dad about it. She knew it was wrong but she didn't have any choice either.
If she would have told them, then her parents would never let her go at any cost. And of course, they both would have to hear a boring lecture from their parents.
"Guys, we don't have the whole day for fighting among ourselves. Whoever wants to go to Disney land, can come with me," said Alex hurrying inside the house.
Alex didn't want to waste any time standing there. He knew if he wouldn't be straightforward, then they'll waste today just thinking about it.
"I'm coming too," and Salvadora followed him into the house. Then she glared at her brother and told him not to dare tell mommy and daddy.
Sam and Adaline looked at each other and then they too followed their elder siblings inside the house.
Adaline came just because Sam was coming. She didn't know that they were going to a horrific place like this. She herself didn't know whether she was ready for it or not.
Both of them only went inside because they didn't want to act like a scared little cat in front of their older siblings.
They really didn't know if they were doing the right thing.
They thought that the situation was under control, that it started because they choose to.
But sometimes, things happen which you don't choose.
