Salvadora woke up screaming. Her mom heard and rushed to her. "What happened, dear? Why were you screaming?" her mom asked gently and put some pillows for her comfort.
Salvadora was sweating and panting, her mom was totally confused. She didn't know exactly how to comfort her daughter in a situation like this.
"Calm down, Sal. Drink some water and you'll feel better," her mom said gently and handed her a glass of water.
"Breathe in and breathe out," Rose said calmly.
As she drank the water, she thought, 'What I'll do? I literally have nothing to say except the truth, I gotta think fast.'
"You okay?" her mom asked.
"Yeah, I am. Perfectly fine, it was just a bad dream, nothing more," she replied.
"Well, it sure looked like one, if you ever need to talk about anything, I'm here," said her mom.
"Sure, why would I hide anything from you? right?" she tried to act confidently.
"Well, I am going to make breakfast so come downstairs to eat."
When her mom was gone, she thought about her dream. 'I think it's just because I was thinking about it too much,' she thought.
But she knew somehow that it wasn't the truth, the idea of hanging never ever came into her mind.
While Salvadora was having breakfast with her brother, she was really happy to see him. Sam hasn't said a word to Salvadora since morning, just ate the food like a stranger.
She wanted to blurt out everything to her brother, but her mom would hear them. She wanted to tell Sam so badly, that she didn't even finish her breakfast.
After eating breakfast, they headed for school. Sam usually talks to her every morning, but today he acted like Sal was invisible.
Sal didn't like that at all, she knew something happened to him too. She was dying to talk to him.
Usually, Sam is the one who gets overexcited over something, but this time Sam seemed to ignore everything.
Salvadora thought, if she and Sam could be in the same grade, or at least in the same building, she could tell him everything. But that was impossible.
She was so occupied in her thoughts that she forgot it was madame Pomphrey's class. The strictest teacher ever!
She stood in front of her wearing a black dress, black earrings, black bellies, and even jet-black hairs!
She always had brunette hair, she never dyed her hair and today was no special day. 'I think I never noticed her appearance like this before,' she thought.
An angry expression was on her face, and that's not good at all! "Miss Silverton, what are you thinking?" asked Madame Pomphrey.
"Um…" Salvadora started but madame Pomphrey interrupted and snarled, "Dreaming! I knew it, where's your English book? Get out of my class!"
Salvadora said nothing and just simply left. She thought it's much better to be outside than to be inside.
'At least now I can think of all that mystical stuff that's going on,' she thought. Maybe she'll find a clue, who knows.
During the lunch break, she tried to find her brother, but she couldn't locate him. Then Alex came running to her, "Salvadora! Salvadora! Your brother has suddenly fainted in his class!"
She quickly reached there. She saw him lying on the floor of the classroom.
"Sammm!" she cried. Then she carefully kept his head on her lap and sprinkled some water on him.
Sam slowly opened his eyes and saw her sister staring with a worried expression. "Are you okay?" asked Salvadora almost crying.
"The sunlight was too much for me, I'm willing to go home," Sam said as if he was not at all ill. Then the school nurse arrived.
"Sam wants to go home, he needs some rest," said Salvadora to the nurse.
"Okay, I will call his parents," said the nurse.
Salvadora was dying to know why Sam suddenly fainted, he had never acted like this, was he really ill? She wondered.
When she got home, she quickly reached his room and saw Sam was lying on the bed with his laptop on his lap, she knew something was wrong. "Sam!" She cried angrily.
Sam calmly answered, "Salvadora, I just found something really interesting on the web."
Before Sam could open his laptop, Salvadora asked angrily, "Were you really ill? Did you have a weird dream last night too?"
A worried expression came on Sam's face, "I was just going to tell you, I wasn't ill. I just needed some time to think about all this stuff, because of the terrific dream that I had last night," Sam continued, "You hanged down yourself in that creepy house!"
Tears started to come out of Sal's eyes, she hugged her brother and said, "I had the same dream too, but in my place, you were there."
"Sis we have to dig more information about this, we'll solve this together, okay?" said Sam wiping his tears.
"Yeah, but never ever do this again. If you have a plan, then don't forget to share it with me, period," said Salvadora.
"I won't, I promise. Okay, so I searched something about that creepy house on the web.
I opened some websites and there I found an article written by some guy named John Mathews which tells something about that house.
"Really? I thought there would be nothing on the web. You know, in these kinds of stuff, internet is totally useless," she said suspiciously.
Anyways, let's check it out," said Sam. It says: -
"Hey guys, I am John and I am a local ghost investigator. When I was researching about this house, I found something. Something that no one did until now.
I can't tell you much, but whatever I do, take it seriously, period.
Then I contacted a spirit, it didn't tell much though, but it said the word, 'Cursed'. But now I am in big trouble because I have shared this information with you guys, I know the witch will kill me.
But guys, please someone solve this mystery!"
