The house was in the same condition, in which they had left it. The same weather, the same smell, it was all exactly the same.
It felt like they never left that place, they must have been somewhere else, but their heart and mind were stuck there. After all, it was so hypnotizing, they couldn't resist it.
They would have believed that no one visited that house except them, but one difference was there a major one. There was no sign of the crow. No signs to prove that the accident actually happened.
"This is weird, how could a dead crow decompose so fast! I mean… it's just been a day," said Adaline confused.
"Anyways, since there is no sign of the crow, we can go to the top floor, right?" asked Sam.
"Sam, use your mind. Since there is no sign of the crow, that means someone cleaned it! Someone was possibly watching us!" explained Alex.
"But that would mean that we are not the only ones who visit this place," this line of Salvadora was the cause of silence at the moment.
"Maybe there is a housekeeper or something like that," said Adaline not sure why she said that.
"Naw, this place has been rotting for years, if there was a housekeeper or anything like that, they wouldn't just clean our mess.
"This place would really be a palace if that was true," said Sam confidently.
"Yeah, Sam is right, there must be someone else," said Alex suspiciously.
"Well, if there is someone who visits this place, then he/she might be a very big clue for us," said Salvadora.
"You're right but first we should explore the house, maybe we'll find something new. We didn't explore the whole place yesterday," said Adaline.
They went to the top floor, even though they were determined not to. The air was much colder there. They were standing right in front of the hanger.
Even though they knew the hanger was dangerous, but still the whole weather there was hypnotizing, they wanted to stay there.
The town looked much green than it was, the evening was strangely mesmerizing. It was like they would be staying there for hours.
Nobody said a word for a long time. The silence was the beauty of this place. Everybody was busy admiring the beauty of that place in their own thoughts.
Something hit Adaline's leg, she cried, "Ow! What is it?" it broke the hypnosis.
It was an old box with a card on top covered by a thick layer of dust. She carefully picked it up and opened it. There was nothing special, but a plain note, which said-
The true owners of this house:-
Mr. & Mrs. Bloodstone
Mr. & Mrs. Silverton
Ms. Pomphrey Soliño
"Mr. and Mrs. Silverton? Like our parents? and Ms. Pomphrey? She is our teacher!" shouted Salvadora.
"There is something bloody wrong here," said Alex examining it closely.
"There is nothing wrong here, this whole thing is fake, I think whoever is visiting this place, knows about us and is directing us towards a wrong lead so that we get confused.
They surely want us to leave this whole thing, the secret is supposed to be a secret for them," declared Sam.
"Actually, Sam makes sense," supported Adaline.
"Hmm maybe, but…" Salvadora started but Adaline didn't let her complete the sentence and said, "But, we will make sure to ask our parents about this. Our parents are police officers, we will surely find something about these Bloodstones."
"Yeah, fine," said Salvadora. "Let's explore some more rooms, let's see if we find anything else."
They visited every room trying to find a tiny clue about the original owners of the house.
But everything was just normal, nothing special. It was like the owner didn't want to be found or someone doesn't want them to find it.
Whatever it was, the mystery was getting complicated by each passing second. If they don't solve in time, they will get themselves tangled very badly.
"It's night, let's head home. And we shouldn't come here from now on as there is nothing else to be found," said Alex tired.
And so, this was the end of their visit to this place, or maybe not. Who knows?
