The path paved towards that dream is one that is filled with things unimaginable. I will be changing some details from time to time from earlier chapters because I feel like I could explain some details better or grammar errors This is my first story, please leave your criticisms on the comments below, I also appreciate shitposting Chapter Posting: I would be posting 3-4 chapters a week but if the story picks up steam I might make it to 7 chapters a week. I really want the story to be an experience and not just a story

Chapter 1 - The Start of Everything- Prologue

On a rough road leading deep into the forest, with vines dripping down to the ground , there was a woman carrying a wooden basket, inside that basket was a child unfamiliar with his environment.

The woman said, lamenting this child's fate, "I'm sorry, I can't afford to raise you," in a somber tone, as she neared a clearing in the forest. She placed the basket down slowly , looking at the child's face once last time , then scurried away, hoping that no one saw her. All she left with the child was a note with his name on it. On that note it said "Vast, like the starry sky."

As the woman left, an old man hidden by the trees, walked slowly to where the basket was.

Looking down onto the child, he muttered, "What a handsome young child, it's truly saddening how people nowadays abandon their children," while the child looked straight at him, with indifferent black eyes.

Then as he carried the child into the forest, he said "Perhaps I would have done the same," he muttered as he walked into the forest, never to be seen again.

As the old man walked, he remembered that he had little time left, after existing for dozens of millennium , he had seen it all, the joys and sorrows of life, all the death and pain that life brought that truly made life hard to live in, but he also saw happiness and pleasure in it.

He knew the pain of being betrayed by someone because he was betrayed by everyone he knew. He didn't even know why he picked up the child, he had seen so much that an abandoned child does not and will not invoke pity on him.

There was something about that child, the look the child gave him, that truly captivated him. That his eyes were as vast as the sky up above that he once roamed, filled with adventure. This in turn reminded the old man to check his talent when they reached the cabin.

Soon, they reached a small cabin in the woods, not too shabby, It had a wood ceiling which has cracks but not any holes on it. The walls were starting to gather mold, and you could see some holes in the wood if you looked closely.

It was not great, but it was enough, and the old man entered and placed the child on the table and gave a good look at the child then suddenly noticed the note, he was curious about it so he picked it up and smiled saying, "Huh, what a name, it truly fits him."

He prepared to check his talent, and when he did, he smirked and said, "I knew this child was special." The talent the child had in his body had never been seen for throughout his lifetime.

He knew that geniuses needed to be cultivated by sects and organizations but he'd seen what they could do to a person, so he decided to teach this child how to live alone and to never trust anyone.

No matter how nice they are, they could betray you at any moment.

As the old man looked put the child to sleep, he walked outside and pondered, he wondered how the child would fare in the world he once roamed, he said to himself that he would mold that child into a person who has an cold and indifferent personality, who only cares about himself, and not others.

It was a selfish motive, but it made sense to the old man, because he believed it was the only way to survive in the starry sky.

This was the start of the journey of Vast, a Boy with a Dream, what dream you may ask?, well you'll find out soon enough.
