After Lux left the grand hall with Aria in tow, all the bees avoided him completely as if they had just gained mass respect for him.
Lux figured having such a powerful creature as a contracted being had its extra perks. Lux made it out of the bee tunnels and used the buffalo to ride out of the biome. He rode off into the distance where the giant worm chased him off too. Then a giant worm busted out from the ground, it screamed at Lux. Lux jumped from his buffalo and told it to move out of the area.
The giant worm ran at him madly, ready to kill its prey. Lux summoned the flintlock rifle which was already preloaded and flicked the lock which ignited into blue fire. A black blur shot leaving behind a cloud of smoke in its trail
Tatatatatatata!
The bullet penetrated right through the whole body of the worm, the worm was killed in an instant.
"Hehehe, this thing really killed that huge worm!" Lux laughed.
He checked his stats and saw he leveled up a lot and was now level 27.
"Yay! I'm past level 25!" Lux cheered.
"I guess I don't need to eat this giant beast but still it's a shame I can't gain experience from it" Lux scratched his head.
Lux figured that he could hunt all day using his trusty gun and the skill Swipe that allows him to sense other creatures. He rode off on his black buffalo and sensed a band of creatures in the distance.
He rode into the area and scouted the place, it was an average goblin camp but the peculiar thing was that the goblins were pale white with purple tongues.
"I feel like these goblins are a higher level than the ones I fought when I was weaker" Lux observed the goblins from a distance.
While the flintlock he had was very powerful, its reloading was very slow. That's why he always had it preloaded before a fight. So fighting multiple opponents like the gang of goblins wouldn't be a very good idea.
Lux rode off, trying to find a more adequate monster to kill like the giant worm. Then Lux had an idea, what if he raided that stone tower from before?
While there were multiple opponents there, Lux had a greater shot at gaining more loot since his weapon was ranged. Even if the guards got close to him, Lux could just summon the black buffalo and flee the battle. Nothing was lost from fighting them. He also wanted to check out that weird feeling he felt when he first encountered the tower.
"Hehe" Lux giggled an evil glint in his eyes.
He drove all the way back to the stone tower. The blank-faced guards covered in steel guarded the outside of the tower. There were six guards outside and two guarding the main entrance, and another four archers covering the top of the tower. There were surely more inside the tower but it didn't matter.
And he felt the same feeling as before, a force of evil lurked around the area.
Lux heeded caution.
It didn't seem like Lux had an advantage just straight up shooting one of the guards, that would alert all the others to him. Another thing about the flintlock was that it was pretty loud, but Lux knew how to use that to his advantage.
Clutching a marble rock, Aria shot it at the head of one of the eastern guards. Lux told Aria to hide and lured the confused guard into a small clearing in the forest.
The guard looked around the area, nothing was seen. The moment the guard turned his back, a loud bang rang across the forest. The guard's reaction speed was incredible and he raised his hand to block the attack. But the bullet was too powerful and broke through his arm and went straight through into his chest, penetrating his heart.
In the last moments of his death, the guard looked around and saw a black shadow hidden behind a cloud of smoke.
The plan was now in motion.
The other guards became alert and instructed two armored guards to find their lost brethren. The two guards walked into the small clearing, the area was filled with smoke. They didn't see the other guard either. They raised their shields and swords, but it was in vain.
Bang!
A bullet ran through both of their heads from the side, but from where? It was impossible for a bullet to hit them since they were covered by thick trees on both sides.
"Who the hell?'' Both guards fell to the ground in confusion.
But it was true, the guards were right that it was impossible to get hit by the side but they didn't take into account the sheer power of the bullet. It went through the tree and through both of their heads without stopping.
"Hehehe, the plan is going just the way I wanted," Lux laughed to himself.
"Alright, now for phase 2".
By now, the guards didn't dare send another to die and were on full alert. All was well for Lux. He had already gained three sets of incredibly strong armor, he put it on.
He was now suited in a full set of armor, but he wanted to push his luck to see how far he could go with only his new gun and his new weapon.
[Ice Touch Rune has now been applied to Reinforced Iron Mesh Gloves]
He felt his hands grow cold and yet he wasn't uncomfortable with it. He walked with his hands by his side towards the guard.
Slash!
A group of trees fell down suddenly and the guards were confused, how did their harasser move around the forest so fast? As they were staring at the group of fallen down trunks, an armored person ran at them from the side.
It was one of their brethren, they were covered in blood as they covered their face. The guards covered the dying guard, the dying guard grabbed them and hugged them all in pain. It was strange for the other guards to see this happening until they felt an ice chill freezing their bones.
It was an imposter.
Lux had dressed as a dying guard and lent Aria his squid dagger to cause confusion within the crowd of guards. With this, he ran up to the guards as if he was traumatized and hugged them all to freeze them in place.
Lux didn't have a weapon that could kill all of them but they did. He unsheathed a sword from one of the guards and sliced all their heads within moment's notice. The archers didn't understand why one of their own would betray them but still had to fire arrows at the attacker.
Lux grabbed the body of one of the guards and used it as a shield to block the arrows, even though his armor could repel the arrows he wanted to preserve its quality and durability for the future.
Three consecutive arrows hit the body of the guard, the archers stopped shooting.
"Just as I thought, these guys have a code of honor" Lux threw the body to the side and grabbed another. Not only did the body of the guard act as a shield, but it was also a psychological trap for the guards.
He ran towards the gate of the tower, two heavily armored guards stood there in a panic. Lux had finished reloading his rifle and shot one towards the guard, it also had incredible reaction speed but because of the weight of their armor, it wasn't fast enough to block the shot, and was killed due to that fact.
The other gritted its teeth, it was going to attack in full anger without thinking which was perfect for Lux. He threw the body of the dead guard at the heavy guard, he sliced the guard in two. His face in utter shock and fear, he had just sliced his own, it was even worse that the guard was dead. It meant the heavy guard had vandalized the other guard's death which completely broke down his angry composure.
With that, Lux hacked his sword at the guard's neck like a tree. The guard's neck was iron-hard but since the guard was completely paralyzed in shock, Lux managed to kill the guard due to blood loss.
"He's… a… monster!" The archers almost barfed in disgust and fear.
Lux grabbed the body of the dead guard and threw it in front of all the guards as a way to show his power.
All the other guards fell down to their knees, they had been utterly defeated physically and psychologically.
Due to Lux's carnage, he had leveled up massively and was now level 39.
