Lux walked around the large jungle, smelling fire.
"Aria, scout the area for monsters and report back at this large red tree. If you're in any sort of danger don't risk it and come back immediately" Lux pointed at a tree and commanded.
Aria nodded and ran off into the wilderness. Lux stood in silence and then started climbing up the tree. A month before he had god or a god. It was a turning point for his attitude towards this hellhole. No more rushing in like he used to, just thinking about his past actions made him cringe. He gathered what he could and left his base with Aria. He was on a new mission now, to escape this place. He wanted nothing from this place, he had everything he wanted back in his world so what would be the point of this shit?
He traveled even farther than before and discovered a large mass of trees. The smallest trees he could find were still the size of a city building back in his hometown. The branches were thick and long just like highway roads. He wanted to make a joke there but just chuckled.
He went up onto one of the first branches of the tree and looked out through the forest. His eyes dilated as his sight fell upon something. It was a camp, it seemed pretty primitive but he was still cautious. Since he had traveled very far out there was a larger chance that he could encounter a player. And there was a big chance that they would be more powerful than him since they have been alive for way longer than him.
If he had to fight one of them he would be crushed in an instant. That was just the cruel reality in which he was so ignorant to see. He looked around the camp, the jungle was filled with all kinds of creatures. From blue lizards to walking snowmen. What surprised him the most was that most of them were non-hostile. This made the journey through the jungle much easier than he had previously thought.
Since meeting that god, Lux had been grinding even more than ever and had reached level 42. Leveling up had gotten harder for him too. He could kill a level 30 goblin and gain about 3000 exp which would have been a lot but compared to the 31,000 exp he needs to level up it wasn't much.
He pulled out his compass, the blue flame pointed north on the compass. Lux knew that he would have to travel a long distance to start his main story line. He figured that if he could start the story, it would be much easier for him to become stronger. His shadow appeared in front of him.
"Four," Aria said.
"You did very well" Lux had been teaching Aria how to talk but so far she could only say numbers up to nine.
He caressed her head and told her to stay put as he jumped down the tree. He slid down vines and ran across the forest.
"Four creatures, NCP's maybe?" Lux sprinted farther in and made it to the camp.
He inspected the area. There was a campfire with little fumes coming out of it indicating that it was used recently. There were also some primitive tools on the floor, they didn't seem abandoned either, meaning there was a big chance that the owner would come back to retrieve them. Also the owner was intelligent enough to make them so it was either a NPC or a player.
He walked around the camp some more and spotted three lizardmen in the distance. They were all equipped with long spears and padded leather shields. They seemed very agile too but they showed no signs of human intelligence.
"Maybe it was someone else," Lux thought.
Aria said there were four but he only saw three, Lux guessed the other was roaming around or that she meant another group of monsters. Previously he would rush the group of lizardmen without any regard for his life but now it was different. He wasn't the same reckless person he was in the beginning, he was more aware of the situation.
He ran around the area and tried to spot out the other supposed lizardmen but he didn't see it. He scratched his head, maybe Aria was talking about another group of monsters. He bit his lip. He sighed. He went back to camp and stole the tools. They would be very useful later. He got a rust pickaxe, a used axe, and a broken shovel.
He didn't want to stay for long because if these tools did indeed belong to a player it would be very dangerous to stay here. He didn't know the type of monster a player could become with a year or more in this hell. He went back to Aria and left the area. He really wanted to kill the four creatures that Aria talked of but he believed it was a lost cause. Lux continued on through the jungle.
Lux felt nervous, he wanted to get as far away from this jungle as fast as possible. He rode through the jungle on his black buffalo and with Aria in tow. He stopped by a clearing of trees for water. He sat by the side of the hill sipping his water when he sensed something using a swipe. Its energy waves were like nothing he had ever seen. It couldn't have been the monarch since his energy wave is almost sinister and very calm.
The wave of energy he was sensing was quite big too. He got up from the ground and looked back.
"Hm? What is a person doing out here in the jungle" Lux heard a voice say in a confused tone.
It was another player!!!
