Chapter 45 - "You've Made A Wrong Choice!!"

Luis Salvatore was in the office discussing something with his assistant, suddenly Marco Esposito smack opened the door and rushed into his office, he put his hands on his desk aggressively and asked Luis Salvatore.

"How can you do this Mr President?"

Luis Salvatore was already stunned by his entrance into his office, he said.

"Jeez, Marco you sacred me is the way you enter into my office?"

Marco rudely replied.

"Ok, if I am sorry that I scared you, now can you tell me how can you this."

Luis couldn't figure out what Marco was trying to say and what he was asking. Salvatore replied.

"I did what? and why are you so angry?"

Marco in an angry tone responded.

"I am angry because you are doing a job which is not yours!" Luis Salvatore maintains his calm and asked Marco to maintain his calm as well.

"Marco! calm down, sit down, take a seat."

Marco is unwilling to take a seat, he sits down on the chair and Luis Salvatore offers him a glass of water.

"Here take some water first then you tell me about your problem."

Marco sips water from the glass and after drinking some water he came back to his senses and now he is normal. Marco politely apologises to Luis Salvatore.

"I am sorry for my behaviour Mr President."

Luis Salvatore said.

"It's ok Marco you don't have to be sorry, now tell me about what decision I took which made you so angry."

Marco Esposito politely tells him the reason for his anger.

"Mr President I want to talk about the player that you have made an integral part of the team."

Luis Salvatore can't of which player he was talking about so he asked.

"I am sorry can't understand which player are you talking about."

Marco didn't want to take the name but now he had to take his name. Marco takes a deep breath and said.

"I am talking about that new player whose name is something like Paul..." Marco tried to remember his name but before he could remember his name the assistant of the president interrupts.

"Paulo Romani."

Marco Esposito and Luis Salvatore looked at him and gave him an intense look. It was clear from their faces that they didn't like his interrupting in between their conversation, the assistant apologised to them for his mistake and stand quiet. Marco thanked him for telling him his name in a taunting manner and continue his conversation with Luis Salvatore.

"Yeah, I want to about Paulo Romani and there is something serious about him which you might don't sound pleasant Mr President."

Luis Salvatore felt something strange in his way of speaking about Paulo. Luis Salvatore permits him to talk about Paulo.

"Yeah, ok Marco! what do you want to talk Paulo?"

Marco when got permission from the president to talk about Paulo, didn't hold back his feelings about Paulo and said everything about him.

"Mr President I don't think you have made the right choice to make Paulo Romani a new player of our, I think he is not capable of being a professional football player."

Luis Salvatore was surprised by his thoughts on Paulo, he couldn't believe what he was. hearing, he questioned Marco.

"And why do you feel that he is not good enough to be a professional football player."

Marco explained his reason.

"Because he never been in a professional match. He never played as a professional footballer before he doesn't know anything about what it takes to be a professional football player at all."

Luis Salvatore however still had his trust in Paulo and with that trust he defended Paulo.

"Marco I think you had never seen him play properly that is why you are saying this and there is nothing wrong with it saying that because I understand that, you came here after a long time and you hadn't seen his talent but believe me, Paulo is the right player who can save this club."

Marco smirked at Luis Salvatore's utterance and replied.

"Mr President I am sorry to say this but who are lying to? me or yourself?"

Luis Salvatore was speechless when Marco said that, Marco continued.

"Mr President no matter how you try to defend him but the defenders of the opposition team are going to brutally expose him in front of the whole stadium when he plays. Mr President, in the end, Paulo is an amateur player who is rejected by a college team there is no way for him to have a breakthrough in his professional football, it is next to impossible."

Luis Salvatore tried to change Marco's mind about Paulo.

"Look, Marco! I think you are being too critical about Paulo."

Marco responded to his remarks.

"Mr President being critical is a part of my job and not just for Paulo but every player. If I am not critical of the player it's impossible to find the best player for this team."

The statements from Marco were legit and Luis Salvatore can't argue with that but he remained optimistic about Paulo.

"Marco I respect your opinion but I still believe that I never made a bad decision in making Paulo a player in this team."

Marco started to get frustrated making Luis Salvatore understand. He replied.

"Mr President I appreciate your belief in Paulo but as a sporting director of this club I can analyse the player's ability more than you can do, I am doing this for years and I know in recent years we haven't signed new players but know we are suffering from the financial crisis and if we aren't in this situation than I think you might not have the same belief for Paulo."

Luis Salvatore was numb by his argument he couldn't counter the argument he made. Marco might be much more critical of Paulo but his concern was legitimate. Marco then continued.

"Mr President I have seen many players excel in their training but when it comes to professional matches they won't even seal their place on the bench, you are confident about Paulo but you know that before coming here I had a conversation with Ale and he also has some concerns about him, now would you don't believe on Ale?"

Luis Salvatore takes some time to think. After thinking about everything he said.

"Ok if that's the case, then I promise you if Paulo cost us the match today or doesn't perform up to the expectations then I will not waste a single second to sack him out of the team."

Marco was pleased by Luis Salvatore's promise and replied.

"Well, I hope you will keep your words."

Marco stood up and exit the office while Luis Salvatore sat holding his head due to tense situation.
