There are at least 40 goblins and 20 hobgoblins. But I wonder, why there are so many of them here? From what I guess, goblins are not that intelligent monsters, so pretty much, a leader should be present to gather them.
Goblins are not organized in line but the hobgoblins, are surprisingly behaved. They stood in line, they seems to know how to be organize, and the thing that more surprise me, is that they know how to greet me.
Not that I don't want to, I just thought that they would be trembling like the goblins. Well, maybe my instincts failed me. I overestimated myself as a goblin king huh. I thought that I can make them kneel with fear. But seems like they want to pledge their loyalty to me.
I took a breath and visualize my skill. Now that Tema is gone, I don't know if I can use my skill without a system. But since, the power I got when Tema was boosted became a part of me, not into the system, maybe like how I traveled through here, I can still use my skills.
I asked them in great oppression putting my foot on top the head of the elder goblin.
This one is not normal. He seems not like your normal elder goblin. Maybe this one is the one whose giving the monsters an intelligence. I need to properly observe this one.
"/You, what are you?/" I interrogated the old looking goblin whose prostrating bowed at me.
To my surprise, he didn't seem to be affected by my threatening.
I was correct. This elder goblin is the one whose informing them how to properly react. Even though the goblins can't hide their trembling as they still act on their instinct, the hobgoblins who has a little higher intelligence can act like a rained soldier.
If he is not this much affected, does he have something up his sleeve? This, it's not giving me a nice feeling. I feel threatened... Not in power, but my plans feel exposed by this wretch. He is intelligent one but if my skill don't work on him, I need to kill him. He's still thinking with his instinct.
"/I am only a normal goblin, great king./" He paid a heed to my threaten. But right now, somethin is off. He is a little alarmed than before. Why do he seems like that.
If I recall my past as a normal goblin, he is not the elder who always tells us story. Yes, he looks like him, but this one, he's aura doesn't tell me so.
It is also suspicious that there are many hobgoblins. To think that this may be his scheme too, how did he come up with an idea of evolving this number into hobgoblins? Why would they follow a goblin, if he's just like from what I remember? So it totally means, this wretch is not the same as before. Where is the real elder?
My INT stat, is really giving me some results. To think that I already think that much, it's really surprising. I should follow what I think is right. I am not wrong as I am intelligent than before.
"/You are not. What really are you./" Leaking out some threatening voice, the hobgoblins are guarded up.
I can't help but to chuckle in joy. Joy not because of this submission, a joy because of my instinct.
Not that I am a maniac myself, I felt obliged to laugh.
If I think about making him one of my subordinates, can I really trust him? Not that I forgot about killing him, I still doubt this wretch.
Now that I observe him well. Studying his behavior, it really seems off. He feels not threaten but when I think about killing him, I felt his fear. It does seems like he's something. Was it a parasite? A skill? or system?
"/Now that I think about it. You really strange wretch. What do you have?"/ If you're not going to answer, I'll kill you.
"/Kuh!"/
Ha! He reacted! So he may have an ability to feel or hear my thoughts. But it does not explain the way he change, and the way he gather this people. It is easy to assume that he may have an ability to feel thoughts, or see the future by he knows that I'll come here to gather, he gathered this much to have him in my side. Either, he is someone like a parasite in this elders body.
I have to assume that it's three. He's a parasite with an ability to see the future and hear thoughts.
"/I'll really going to kill you if you don't tell me./" By that comment, the hobgoblins pointed their weapons at me.
I see. So it is also bad to keep this hobgoblin. They may submit to me but their loyalty seems only for this elder. It's not good to keep lurking wretches into my followers.
"/I am a parasitic dungeon core, great king. I lived in this goblin and acquired his ability
Bingo!
[Swash!]
The bloods gushed out as I slice the head of the elder goblin. The hobgoblins reacted acting as if going to attack me, but they suddenly stopped when they saw the corpse of the elder goblin.
Screeches of goblins echoed through the entire cave as the goblins panicked seeing their elder dead. I faced them an grinned with delight as I squashed the corpse one more time.
Oh this satisfaction. I love this more than anything. I really want to keep on slaying creatures.
I saw the hobgoblins slowly approaching me with caution. They seemed to be alarmed of me. But surprising, they didn't take their vengeance. Was it that the parasite has more abilities than what he said to me. Ah, he was just filling my assumptions of him to keep hiding his identity. It was a waste, maybe I can absorb some of his skill as he is a parasitic dungeon core that only appears once in a blue moon.
I raised my hand to the trembling monsters as I activated my skill
40 goblins, 20 hobgoblins, not bad. Now, I just need to have them trained. And there's the tiger kins will be useful to me. I don't really need this goblins to fight for me, I need them to camouflage in attacking some human cities.
It may be dangerous if they discover that some demi-humans are attacking the humans. Danger may fall into demi-humans in human society.
Ha... This world is really a troublesome, human supremacist are at large. This is going to be a long work. I don't even receive a pay at this. Well, my reincarnation is not enough from this hectic job.
I sighed as I ordered them to line up. And remarkably, they gained some intelligence just becoming my subordinate. They followed my orders and became organized than the elder goblin. I'm too great for them.
"/We shall visit our comrades, tiger kins. Humans shall be alarmed by the upcoming disaster./"
