Chapter 16 - Goblin Horde P.2

The goblins marched in a fixed line as we travel through the forest. As we got out of the plains, the hobgoblins slay the harder monster the goblins can't handle. I already gave them an order to strengthen and train while we're on the journey.

We were annihilating every monster that shows hostility to us. Alarming the every creatures at the vicinity, powerful monsters that the hobgoblins can't slay, I take care of them. It's a waste that they are stronger than my intelligent hobgoblins, so as a resolve, I subordinate the using my skill and prowess.

Nevertheless, it was thrilling as humans also get alarmed. Oh. Look at their funny expressions. It was priceless. They immediately retreat as soon as they saw a horde of goblins and hobgoblins.

Hobgoblins are giant goblins in a mature figure as humans. They can be taller than an adult human twice, and get powerful as a normal soldier. But what if an intelligent hobgoblin? It is futile, after all, the only nearest settlements of humans are villages. There's no city nearby.

The only annoying is that, the pace is time-consuming. What I mean time-consuming, was literal.

This goblins are slow that it took us half a day, more so, they take 20 minutes to fight.

I just don't have other choice but to bare with it. After all, this was my decision. It will be worth it after going to the tiger kins' place and let them train them.

I just hope that thing goes well.

A group of human young-adults are scouting the area of their village. Their attention was taken when they heard a noisy stomping march, 200 meters away from their village.

The 4 males initiated their decision of looking at it but their suspicion was already correct. From scouting the area, they saw a horde of goblins, numbering to 40 and hobgoblins to 20. But even worst, a colossal dark-looking goblin was ordering them. It was petrifying looking at the demeanor of the leader monster. Even without looking at them, they can feel a vile aura releasing from that monster.

In their terror, they subconsciously run away hoping to inform their comrades and warn them. But they were not aware that the colossal goblin saw them.

The discomposure of the humans while running was noticeable, as they almost tripped, the remaining was still continuing as the information is important than ones' life. The persons who were left, thought of sacrificing themselves just to evacuate their love ones.

But it was futile, they were panicking while the colossal goblin, Lucifarge didn't pay a heed in their villages.

Chasing his breath, the human male finally reached their gate and panically screamed at the guard.

"GOBLINS! HOBGOBLIN! GOBLIN KING!" Reporting in difficult of speaking properly.

"Calm down. What do you mean goblins?"

"Monsters are marching. Soon, the goblin hordes will reach our village!" Trying to fight his discomposure, the human talked at his best.

The guard, didn't asked anymore as he trust the report. Life is more important even if it was a prank.

The guard also thought of something, it was reasonable if they saw a horde of monster as it was hard of hunting them in the forest. Hard not because they were plenty, it was hard because of scarce.

"So that was the reason we were lacking at goblin ears. It was because a goblin king was gathering them. The feudal lord must know this immediately, before it was too late."

At the tiger kins village. Nearly at the setting sun, a march alarmed the village nearby. The training tiger kins formed in formation as they guarded up in their position.

As the horde of goblins getting near the village. The master of the land wondered in deep thoughts as he counts the number of days passed when he met Lucifarge. Then he saw the organized goblins and hobgoblin and only one conclusion got him, a higher intelligent monster should be ordering them.

Rayas smiled in delight as he halt his subordinates and servants. He walked towards the front of formation as the goblin march stopped in front of them too.

When the situation was calm, the formation of goblins split into two as a huge entity walk between the space.

A tense ambiance spread the plain as the entity got near Rayas. A massive dark-green goblin in decent clothing stood in front of him, lowering his body and kneeling in one foot, bowing after it. He then stated his welcome to his master.

"I welcome you My Lord."

Lucifarge showed a pleased expression then spoke.

"Rayas, I think that you already have done your duty. As for another one, get your best men and gather them, we will attack a human city."

Rayas showed a delighted grin as he ordered his servant to gather his men.

Lucifarge, on the other hand, ordered to let the strongest men of the hobgoblin on formation and the weakest form another one, it was also applied to the goblins.

After that, the formation was now into two. He speak once more for another order.

"I will leave this monsters to train them. Don't worry, they are intelligent, they will learn after a few."

Humans were forming in a large open field just outside the borders of the city. Soldiers, knights and mercenaries are guarded up, suited, with their weapons at their side. They could not take more time to subjugate the monsters that threatening their land.

"This is not good. An intelligent monster just appeared, it safe to think that it was not just one but in a great number too. Just a month ago, the Florans Kingdom was attacked by spider monster, now, we shall fight goblins too." A comment from one of the mercenary.

"Mercenaries are really cowards. Just taking a job for their own good." A smug mockery from a soldier that overheard the sentiment of the mercenary.

"At least, not ones loyal dog, covering in sweet words of saving the people, but just exhausting the citizens for their own wealth."

The soldier hissed at the answer of the mercenary, as he just ignored it and went to the formation.

Deep inside the thoughts of the soldier, he just grinned as he knows what will happen to the mercenaries. They already have a plan but not including the hired men for their safety. If things get uncontrollable, they will use the hired men as decoys to escape as there also nobles who participated in this subjugation.

"Sure it is, but do we really need this much to subjugate goblin? Aren't they just a bunch of filthy flesh who know a little at surviving?"

The conversation of the mercenaries continued. They were confused as to why they need this much to subjugate a near hundred monsters. They can just mages to cast an area offensive spell.

"Are you nuts? Of course this number is not for the goblins. This is for the goblin king! That disastrous monster should even not exist. This much is enough but just to be sure, the knights were requesting reinforcement from nearby cities."

"Yeah you're right—" The comment was cut when a shout of a person alarmed the crowd.

"They are not just goblins! They are new monster!" A scout was panicking in reporting his scouting duty. He already informed them about few but he was already losing too much blood from an injury in his back and abdomen.

A sorrow expression painted on the captains face as he closed the dead opened eyes.

"Those vile wretches, they shall pay with their lives."
