"Tell me one thing." Ji-Hoon hummed and Bo-Gum carried on, "How do you feel right now?" he tilted his head with a serious expression on his face.
"About what?" Ji-Hoon asked as his eyes were still glued to the files.
"About all this matter, about Tae-Hoon's marriage." he was still observing his friend's behavior and his expressions.
Ji-Hoon sighed yet again and looked at his friend. "What do you exactly want to ask?"
Bo-Gum swallowed and pondered whether to say it or not but he just did. "Look, I am trying my best not to be offensive but you don't look like... like someone whose love interest is about to get married to someone else." Bo-Gum indicated a comeback but to his surprise Ji-Hoon was looking at him confused, blinking his eyelids continuously.
"What... no I mean then how am I supposed to look like?" Ji-Hoon asked with a confused look on his face.
Bo-Gum facepalmed yet again. "Just forget it, forget whatever I said and all the best for all these files. You know what, just get married to them and a perfect match would be born." he went out of his friend's room rolling his eyes while Ji-Hoon was still thinking about his previous question.
He went to the big mirror attached to the cupboard. "Hmmmmm, how am I supposed to look like?" he was making weird faces in front of the mirror deciding on how he should portray someone whose love interest is about to get married.
...
"Mom, I will take Bo-Mi to McDonald's. She wants to spend time with me." Dong-Hoon said to his mother who was setting the dinner with Se-Young. Bo-Mi was confused as she did not request him but chose to stay quiet since she will be getting her favorite to eat.
Jung-Nan gave him a serious look raising her eyebrows.
"You know that I am not a fool, right." Jung-Nan asked him, placing the last plate onto the dining table.
"What do you mean." Dong-Hoon acted confused.
She sighed while shaking her head. "Give me one reason, why you don't want to eat the homemade food nowadays." she crossed her hand in front of her chest.
"You really want me to be clear about this, really..." he eyed Se-Young who was trying to ignore him and his gaze.
"Then listen, we never ate anything made by maids or household workers then why are we eating this food now. If you are cooking then I am fine with it but I will not eat food made by her. She is not a part of our family which ultimately makes her a worker here." he exhaled deeply after saying that while Se-Young just ran away to the kitchen.
"Dong-Hoon, how can you say that." Jung-Nan was fuming in anger once again.
"You urged me to." he just took Bo-Mi in his hands and left from there without further due.
...
Se-Young was not crying but her eyes have glistened with those raw emotions within her. She thought that it was true she was not a family member but calling her a maid was harsh. She was feeling that dead pang in her chest. This is what she told Jung-Nan first, this was exactly what she meant when she said that everyone will not understand, someone will surely point their fingers at her and he did.
Jung-Nan went to her and pat her shoulder. "Don't... think about it much or you will get sick again." she felt really bad that her grown-up son, who she considered the most sensible one was acting up like that and had hurt her emotionally.
Se-Young let out a deep breath to relax herself. "I am fine a... aunty. Just realized after a long time that I don't actually have a family anymore." she took long breaths, stopping herself from triggering the asthma attack.
"Don't say that. You know that you are like my daughter right." Jung-Nan caressed her cheek.
Se-Young exhaled deeply. "Still, he was not wrong." she just ignored Jung-Nan's words and continued her so-called work as Jung-Nan was just looking at her, pinching her nose bridge.
...
"When did I ask you to go Mcdonald's." the little girl settled in her seat and asked him. "You don't want to go to McDonald's. Ok, then we should go back home." Dong-Hoon said, trying to tease her.
"No, nooo. I want to." he chuckled looking Bo-Mi beside him pouting cutely.
"Ok, ok, now don't you sulk. We are going. I might take you to some rides as well." Bo-Mi's eyes widened with excitement and she aggressively nodded her head.
...
The next day (Wednesday):
"No worries aunty, I know it is on short notice but I will handle all the preparations related to the food and refreshments. You really don't have to worry in this matter at all." Se-Young said to the frustrated Jung-Nan who had taken all the preparations on herself and her moody sons were of no help as well.
"I know you will, but I just don't want anything to go wrong." she said brushing her hands through her hair.
"I assure you, nothing will go wrong, all the staff under Shim Hotel is very capable." Jung-Nan gave a little smile to Se-Young.
"There is no need for you to be in charge of anything." Dong-Hoon said entering the living room.
Se-Young just rolled her eyes looking at him, after last night she has decided to completely ignore his existence and not to pay attention to his words. "You don't have a say in this matter. All three of you are being so moody and your father only knows how to manage his work in the company. Now that Se-Young is helping me, you are here poking your nose." Jung-Nan scolded him and Se-Young bit her lower upper lip to control her laughter.
"You didn't ask any of us to do anything." his expressions said 'you are unbelievable, mom'.
"Ohhhhh, so I need to ask you to do something. You yourself don't have any sense of duty toward this mess." Jung-Nan squinted her eyes at him while placing her hands on her hips.
