I hate running but somehow today I really need it, somehow it eases my pain, it makes me feel free, the way the wind hits my face harshly like I deserve to feel pain.
"You're pushing yourself too hard Mira just let it go." I can tell Jamie's worried about me but it's not the time.
"I cant, I have to do this. I need to do this." I deserve this.
"What's got into you? You're only like this when He's involved. Did He call you yesterday?"
"No, I had a fight with Liam." I really want this to be over.
"And? I've never seen you like this with any guy, did any conversation you had with Liam connect with HIM?" She stays quiet a little bit.
"Please don't tell me you're comparing Liam with HIM." she accuses.
"No Jamie now please drop it." I huff and push away from her making my way towards the cafeteria.
I'm so engrossed in my issues that I don't see where I'm heading until I hit something hard.
"Ouuch! Dude." I spit out but my about to rumble cuts short when I see Nathan looking at me with first a pissed look but changes into something else, worry?
"Na.. Nathan? I'm so sorry, I was..Uhh I just.."
"It's okay." He stops me before I embarrass myself. "How are you feeling?"
He's really that worried about me. Me? But why? Before I can answer someone calls him, I remember her she's one of his groupees.
"Are you coming?" She looks at me bored and then smiles sweetly at Nathan.
What a bipolar bitch. I think out.
Woah!!
"Yeah I'll be there shortly, just go on without me." Nathan answers still looking at me.
"But you said we are going together and Nessa is waiting for us."
"And I said I'll be there soon." He grits out looking at the girl I think her name is Livia.
She looks startled at first but then recovers quickly.
"Ohh okay, don't be late." With that she turns to the other direction and takes her leave.
"You shouldn't have done that. You're friends are waiting for you for practice right?"
"No not today, we are just going to do other stuffs that don't include soccer."
"Ohh." And we fall into an awkward silence well at least for me he's been looking at me strangely since I bumped into him.
"You're not fine." He states, he looks around and then takes my hand guiding me somewhere else.
"Where are we going?" But he doesn't answer anything.
We come to a stop at a high hill. "Can you climb up?"
"Uhh no?" I answer fast.
"I'm taking the chances. Let's go."
I huff. But start climbing regardless.
"You can do better Cookie come on." I know he's teasing me but I don't like it one bit. I hate being physical.
"Well I really don't feel like so, I don't know where we are going and now we are doing hiking against my will." I know am exaggerating but somehow nagging about how boring this is makes me cool down. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm with Nathan.
"Do you enjoy tormenting me?" I tell him as I continue following his lead.
"A little bit. It's not everyday I get to push people to do what I want." He shrugs then he stops.
"We are here?" I breathe out when I reach where he is and look around to where we came from, okay maybe I was exaggerating a little bit because it wasn't far at all. But it was quite an exercise.
"You skip morning joggings don't you?" I just shrug at his question. I mean duh! I loathe running, like no can do ever.
He takes me to a spot where we just sit, he's phone chimes he looks at it but dismisses whoever was texting him.
"Are we here for you to exercise me. I would have done better on my club." He looks again at my attire and smirks.
"A Titan huh! I should have guessed."
Hold up!
"What's that supposed to mean?" I look at him with daring eyes.
"Oh nothing just the fact you guys are extremely lazy. I don't even know how you managed to do it yesterday in soccer."
"Please don't go there." I warn teasingly.
"What?" He shrugs and looks again away. "I'm a legend rebel after all."
"Why do I have a feeling your the one who changed the clubs name." He laughs at that and I swear I puddled a little bit because it's the most precious thing ever. It's angelic.
"I wish I did princess, but no the seniors from my first time here at camp where the ones who changed the name. And I think it was for the best because we were the lamest. Every group had a perfect name still has."
I look at him funny my curiosity picking up but he just laughs at my expression.
"That's a story for another day Cookie."
"What? Why I really need to know."
"No you don't you're just curious." he points out.
"It's not a crime!" I tell him.
"It's not but now I want you to see something else. Come on." he stands up.
"Wait we weren't here yet?" I ask puzzled that we still have to climb up.
"No it's just around the hill, you looked like you needed a break." He says looking at me with a grin.
True.
"Okay then."
We round the hill and take a seat on two big rocks that were there.
"I must say...shhh!"He stops me and urges me to look ahead well infront.
My breath is stuck on my throat to what I see, waterfall, the clear sky, and even the campers exercising. It's unfathomable the birds are flying with no care jn the world and it's so refreshing. I realise now that I just needed a breather, to relax my mind and think clearly to what I want to do with Liam and with HIM. Because he's been tormenting my life for as long as I can remember.
"Thank you." I tell Nathan quietly.
"Looks like you needed it."
"I did, it so peaceful here and very refreshing. It's magical." I mutter out in awe.
"I know." When I look at him he's gaze is turned to me and all I can see in his eyes is pure adoration.
It can't be possible, I'm probably imagining things. Why the hell would he look at me like that. It's probably an illusion.
I give him a small smile which he returns and we both turn to enjoy the view but with one thing stuck in my mind.
Nathan managed to make me feel better.
'and forget about that Liam guy'
'You never liked the guy did you?'
I can already feel the shrug that my brain just left me with after asking that question.
