Chapter 12 - Chapter 12- Grinding Dungeon Points

When he thought till here, memories and information came flooding into his mind.

According to these memories, there are various ways of increasing DP. Firstly when an intruder invades the dungeon, they provide DP every minute (the amount depends on the level and rank of the enemy).

Secondly when enemies die inside the dungeon, becoming nourishment for the dungeon (the amount depends on the level and rank of the enemy).

Thirdly when the dungeon and its master grow in rank. And lastly, the dungeon itself produces DP every day by consuming the mystical energy in the surrounding area.

Now that Simon was clear about how to acquire DP, all that was left was to start planning his moves. He couldn't just leave it to the dungeon to produce DP because it took a lot of time and the amount wasn't much. In that case, there was only one thing he could to do hasten the process.

Standing up, he did some side bend exercises and bolted out of the dungeon. Simon inhaled a deep breath of air before starting his search for the presence of enemies nearby. Luckily he found one not very far away.

Charging towards that direction where he sensed the presence from, he came to a small clearance of forest. A small hill was in front of him and a wide cave entrance could be seen, a snoozing sound came from within.

Clearly, the inhabitant of the cave was currently sleeping.

Simon attempted to approach the cave to get a better view of the entity inside. However, he was unable to get closer before the being awoke and emitted a growl.

The entity inside must have felt his presence and growled at him in a warning. Telling him with its growl not to approach any further.

"Telling me to back off huh? You must be quite sentient then" Simon narrowed his eyes and wondered. After fighting the pack of Direwolves, he was currently level at 87. It should be enough to fight the being that was inside the cave. Since he could fight level 60 direwolves at level 1 he should be much stronger now.

With his bolstered confidence, Simon decided to approach the cave.

Just then a furious growl along with a wild gust of wind came charging out of the cave. The being inside was finally in front of his eyes. It had a towering frame at about five meters, battle scars decked all over its body, and it was standing on its hind legs.

The hands of the being reached the ground even while standing and extremely sharp claws gleaming with an incisive light, protruded out from those hands.

GRRRRROOOWWWWLLLL

The loud roar from it marked the beginning of their fight.

Race:- Battle Bear,

Level 92,

Skill- [Wind Claws]

The enemy in front of him was five levels higher than him, and unlike the direwolves, it even had a skill. The pack of Direwolves he previously fought, none of them displayed any skill.

Which meant that "You are a little more special than the others?" Simon gave a bitter smile as he spoke. His second opponent was already so tricky, he didn't know what would happen in the future.

The battle bear came barrelling towards him and swung one of its wide arms in an attempt to tear him apart. That's when he realised he could see it, he could read the movements of his opponent.

In that case, without holding back Simon met the attack of his opponent with a punch of his own.

BANG...

A wild gust of wind was generated when both attacks met. The battle bear's arm was deflected and Simon was forced a few steps back.

"I can do it" From that confrontation earlier, Simon realised one thing. He wasn't weaker than the monster. His stats and level were more than powerful enough to keep up with the Battle Bear.

GRUUUHH...

On the other hand, seeing that its attack had no effect, the battle bear became increasingly frenzied. Ruthless attacks came raining down one after the other. It used its intimidating claws, fangs and every other weapon to tear its prey apart.

Although it looked very messy, Simon hurriedly dodged all the attacks. But simply dodging wouldn't get him anywhere, he needed to attack.

"Fire....!!!" he was about to cast the fire magic he used to make barbeque out of the direwolves but stopped mid-incantation and hurriedly dodged to the side.

A powerful claw attack whistled through the space he was in that very instant, creating four long and deep scars on the ground. Had he not moved from there, his body would have been split apart.

The enemy was too close, he needed to open some distance to cast his fire magic; however, would the enemy give him the opportunity to open a gap?

Simon who was distracted by his thoughts saw the big paws of the Battle bear approaching in his vision. Maybe he could have dodged it, but he was not used to his new body. The attack landed and swept Simon off his feet.

He was blasted away by the attack of the battle bear and crashed into the tree behind.

"Kuh... it hurts but not as much as I thought" Simon checked his HP, that attack earlier did very minimal damage.

Can I fight him in close quarters? He was a simple office worker in his past life, he had never fought any physical battles. Maybe in his youth, but with age, he had forgotten all that.

He tried to fill that void with his gaming knowledge. This world had game like elements such as stats and skills. If these parameters didn't lie, then it shouldn't be impossible for him to wrestle the battle bear.

"No choice but to try it I guess" Standing his ground, Simon tried the most basic of attacks that even a six year old knows of. Yes, he threw a punch without any fancy magic or anything, a simple straight punch with all of his power.

BANG... Staying true to his stats, he was fast, and his punch packed quite the power. The dull bang and the crackling sounds of his opponent's bones breaking was plenty proof.

"W-Woah" Simon marvelled looking at his fist. It was possible for him to physically wrestle a bear. In light of that, he tried various other attacks which was made possible because of his powerful physical body.

Forward jab, uppercut, roundhouse kick. He tried all sorts of moves, some of them failed to connect and those that did, dealt some damage to the battle bear.

BANG BANG BANG BANG

As he exerted more and more of the power hidden within his body, his attacks inadvertently started affecting his surroundings. Fierce winds was generated whenever he moved.

.

.

After a while of fighting, Simon's body became a little tattered, with small bruises here and there.

On the other hand, the battle bear became increasingly irritated and looked worse for the wear with multiple wounds and fractures on its body. Nevertheless, its HP was still standing strong, it had only dropped by one third.

GROOOWWWLLL

"Dammit, you are quite strong. Then let's continue this somewhere else shall we?" If he wanted to bring down this bear, he would have to rely on his magic. However, there was no need to go that far right now because he had a plan.

simon flashed a taunting smile towards the bear, turned around, and started fleeing away from it and into the forest.

Now that he fully captured its aggro on him, it was time for him to execute the next step of his plan.
