On an oddly large porcelain table, one man could be seen enjoying a meal. The man had two jagged horns protruding from his head indicating that he was not human.
With a bare chest and a simple pair of pants along with leather boots reaching up to his ankles, the man was unmistakably Simon.
Currently, he was savouring a delicious cream stew that he had exchanged from the [Shop] The food was quite delicious, even though it was generated by the shop instead of hand-cooked.
In the meantime, he was also browsing the [Shop] from the dungeon's menu. Looking for something of interest that could break his boring monotonous life.
"If I remember correctly this dungeon shop also listed musical items..hmm where is it?..ahh found it."
What Simon was looking at was a piano. In his previous life, Simon learned piano as a hobby. But after getting employed by the company, the time he could give to his hobby was very limited. And after a few years, he completely stopped and dedicated himself to his work.
Now that he saw a piano again many deep and once-forgotten memories came flooding back to him. Reminiscing on these wonderful wonderful memories he made a decision.
[15,000 DP Exchanged]
Simon immediately exchanged his DP for the piano, the remaining amount he had with him was 165,000 DP
The thing that appeared was a concert grand piano. It had an impressive black ebony body. Its open lid revealed the remarkable tableau in gleaming gold. Simon marvelled at its grandeur, it was a true work of art.
Its keys produced big beautiful sounds filling the entire floor. Looking at it he thought the 15,000 DP he paid was not too pricey at all. He also bought a piece called Sound of the Vale along with the piano.
However, after years of not playing, his fingers struggled to find their rhythm. It took some time for him to synchronize with the notes.
The music that came out was heavy yet light, it had an unconcealed fervour in it giving whoever listening to the music, a tinge of dread.
Simon played the piece for a while, the beautiful melody reverberating across the entire floor. Displayed at the corners of his vision, were windows showing hordes of enemies on every floor enticed by the Elixir of Enticement.
Some fell victim to the traps while others stepped on their corpses and roamed the dungeon in a trance.
During this time, Simon added two new floors to his dungeon—the fifth and the sixth floors. The fourth floor mirrored the third but with larger walls and ceilings, illuminated by phosphorescent crystals from above. Its span covered more than 600 meters across the ground.
The fifth floor was similar to the fourth but due to the mist that endlessly drifted there. It made visibility terrible even with skills.
The sixth floor became his personal space and the dungeon core's current location.
Speaking of the core, it was still the size of a football, but the light it emitted was now more ethereal and lifelike than before.
The concentration of mystical energy had also increased on all the floors. And although the [Dungeon Menu] still displayed the rank of the dungeon rank as [E], Simon knew that he was making progress.
In these past few days, he also tried his luck on the [Gacha]. The result was unsatisfactory; nevertheless, it was still okay with [C] and [D] rank items filling his [Inventory].
Simon was not worried about the space in his [Inventory] being full. That was because during the beta phase, lots of players complained about the limited space in the [Inventory], which led him to expand its space substantially.
Now the [Inventory] can easily house more than 10,000 items.
Another noteworthy development was that Simon gained a new skill called [Mental Map], which allowed him to map the outside world in his mind.
This skill was quite useful as it allowed him to mark places with a high concentration of monsters in the forest. The north part according to his [Mental Map] had three peaks, which were set quite far apart from each other.
Each peak had a very powerful presence guarding it. Clearly, the three peaks were the territory of the three most powerful entities on the north side of the forest. Whenever Simon explored the north side he made sure not to delve too near these three peaks.
It was not because he was scared of these monsters or anything, he was simply biding his time quietly. Because he knew that given enough time, he can easily surpass and defeat them.
