Lightning bolts scorched the land, destroying the terrain wherever they fell.
Letting out an ominous laugh the beast yelled, "You had a chance when I was still in a frenzy, was it your revenge that held you back or is it something else that you desire."
"Desire? well, there certainly is something that I desire," said Rein as he helped penguin to mount his shoulder.
"And what might that be?" questioned the anomality.
"Your soul," replied Rein grabbing his sword.
Rein's word startled the anomality, the wide grin faded from his face, " [in a serious tone] It can't be," he said, "The skill died with Cassius", he affirmed as if being unsure himself.
"Ignorance is bliss ain't it," said Rein.
As soon as the word's left Rein's mouth he bolted towards the beast. On reaching the within range he swung his sword slashing the dumbfounded beast's chest diagonally. This was one of the many strikes that had been laid on his torso, yet it was different for it managed to severe his hard exoskeleton spilling the forbidden blood which resembled the one that flowed in a mortal's veins.
The spurting blood, gushed out of the abdominal muscles. If the inflicted damage wasn't enough to surprise the observers, the enormous beast taking back his hinged steps was unimaginable mostly to Nord who was proved to be utterly inefficient in front of the beast's superiority.
"Why are you backing off, weren't you going to kill me," taunted Rein.
"YOU'RE LYING", yelled the anomality as if forcing his beliefs on Rein.
As the conversation between the two carried on, lark yelled from behind, "The sun!".
The sun had started to rise above the mountains, below the towering clouds.
The anomality's body started to glitch.
"HAHAHAHAHA doesn't matter if you can use the skill or not, you can't take all ele ven of us together", said the anomality.
"Rein!! we haven't got much time!" said penguin, "If he goes back, we'll be at a disadvantage", he added.
"He's not going back," said Rein putting back his sword in its sheath.
Nord was still behind Rein, not more that five meters apart.
Rein gave Nord the side eye, Nord looked back and before he could say anything, the ground below him started to rise in a sudden motion yeeting Nord to a comparatively fair distance, near Vilson, Lark and unconscious heath.
Vilson and Lark advanced towards Nord while Rein advanced towards the anomality.
The anomality in an attempt to keep Rein at bay, went full force with the falling lightning bolts.
Their intensity as well as the magnitude increased threefold causing wreckage throughout the village. The thunderous sounds echoed throughout the streets and resonated within the house where the villagers were crawled up to each other praying to make out of the night alive.
"Mom I am scared", said a kid covering her ears squirming in her mother's embrace in a distant two Storey hut.
"Don't worry dear it will be all okay," comforted her father patting her head forcing a smile on his face as he peeked through the window.
The lightning stopped near the hut, near the evacuation site and the area where the five elders were in hiding, there was complete silence throughout the village for someone else had taken up the fate of embracing the descending death.
[Combat Area]
Rein dashed towards the anomality, the falling lightning was now all focused-on Rein, thousands of bolts tumbled from above, breaking the ground throwing rubble to hundreds of meters. The temperature rose up to hundreds of degree Celsius. Though numerous in number none of the bolts touched Rein, not even his hair. He dashed swiftly between them, avoiding each with speed beyond comprehension. He dodged them yet the heat burnt his skin to crisp, the only reason he could move forward was because of the flightless bird that was mounted on his shoulder the one who could defy death in it's very domain.
In not more than mere seconds Rein was just before the beast, "I am going to touch you", he said.
"Stay away!", the beast yelled and as the last futile attempt he swung his axe but to no avail for at this point Rein was faster than the lightning!
