"What if I say, I know a shifter when I look at one," said Rein.
"This is bullshit!!", yelled Heath losing his temper, "Are we really going to trust this!" he added, looking around the table.
"OfCourse not", said Vilson, "If this is a sick joke then stop it already".
"I don't appreciate this kind of humor Rein", said Haldem trying to maintain his composure.
"It's your decision to trust me", said Rein as if avoiding any further explanations.
"We can't go on like this Rein", said Adil in a condemning tone," It's one of my people you're talking about".
"Here's the thing, I don't need any one of you to trust me, I was being generous when I told you about the imposter. What I need is for you to keep your side of deal!" said Rein diverting his gaze towards Lark.
"Deal?" said Adil in confused tone.
"What kind of deal?" inquired Walt.
"To get into the capital", said Lark with grave expressions.
Everyone was shocked to hear Lark's words, they pointed their piercing gaze toward him, silently as if he said something unforgivable.
Trying to calm down the situation somehow Lark started to explain himself.
"I made that deal with sir Penguin in order to save Nord" said Lark, "I had no choice".
"You made the right decision", consoled Haldem, "Heath already told me about the situation with Korb, we'll have to go there nevertheless."
"But from what I know you're strong enough to go there alone, why do you need us?" argued Walt.
*Rein crosses his legs on the table "First reasonable question of the day." said Rein raising his voice as if complimenting, he then added, "I can't enter the capital directly because of the barrier that surrounds it, it prohibits the entry of Strong individuals."
"Strong? Is that really the case?" asked Steve who had been silent since the beginning.
"Let's say we can't tell you the real reason for you own safety", said penguin intervening the conversation.
"There are too much unknows here for us to trust you!" said Haldem in a serious tone.
"I already told you I don't need your trust," said Rein looking directly at Haldem.
"Thats it!" said Nord as he started to advance towards Rein, " Just because you saved us it doesn't give you the right to talk down to us!".
Haldem stops Nord by raising his palm.
"This conversation is going nowhere" said Haldem.
"Everyone the burial of the fallen needs to be held, we'll talk again Rein. Make sure to know which side you're on by then," said Haldem leaving the room.
Everyone inside did the same until Lark, Rein and penguin were the only ones remaining.
"The people here would rather die than being looked down on," said Lark as he too left the room.
"You should try talking nice for once," mumbled Penguin.
"I didn't become this strong in order to talk nice", mumbled Rein.
