"So, the families in Larinda, are more of fishermen and dead charts?" Valdemar asked as boredom overcame him.
Cassandra, on the other hand, seemed like she was enjoying the lighthearted conversation but it felt a bit awkward, talking to a Prince.
And not only a Prince, the heir to the throne. It felt like she was talking to an Authority.
"Yes. More of fishermen and bed carts makers, you mean" she said with a smile on her face and Valdemar smiled also.
She thought the smile that came from him was because of her gesture but the main reason why he smiled was because they're little meeting had finally come to an end.
"Umm... Okay... " Valdemar said and stood up from his seat, and followed suite was Cassandra.
"Nice to meet you Cassandra. I hope to meet you whenever we do" he said and Cassandra smiled and with a little postrait, turned and walked to the door.
Luckily, Lois was was walking by, so Valdemar used that opportunity to get HER out of his room, forever.
"Umm, Lois. Be a kind gentleman and lead Miss Cassandra out to her place of hostage... "
Cassandra made a confused face at the mention of the word "Hostage".
"Yes sir. Right this way, my lady" Lois said and led Cassandra to where the other girls were.
Cassandra waved at Valdemar and with a broad and thankful smile that she's gone, Valdemar closed the door behind him when he entered the room and pounced on his bed, with groans of complaints.
"Mother!" he yelled and scattered everything in his room including his wardrobe.
"Why won't you guys let me to get a bride in peace and not pieces?"
He looked like as if he wanted to cry. This bride thingy is taking a toll on him like literally.
Just as he collapsed on his bed, he breathed in and out several times and turned to face his Royal pictures, on top of the wardrobe.
He wished his parents understood what he wanted. What he actually needed and what he was going through. But will they ever?
"Valdemar, I saw Cassan, oh my Lord... "
Queen Sarah stared at the broken pieces of glass and ceramics all over the place.
"What is this?" she asked and Valdemar stood up from the bed.
"Who is that? What is it in you and your husband's mind, mother?" Valdemar asked.
"What do you mean, child?" she asked, shocked that her son wasn't aware of the event that was going on in the perspective of getting a bride.
"Who is that lady? And why leave us for half an hour together?" he asked.
Queen Sarah tucked her hair behind her ear and sighed. Her face looked like the stress that was upon her for years was finally making its way to its grave.
"Your father and I thought that you knew about it... " she started calmly.
Valdemar's brows came down, signifying a gentleness that had hit him deep down and inside his heart. His eyes turned cold as he stared at his mother, praying that what she would say won't cause him to lose his temper.
"Knew about what? Are you hiding something from me?" he asked calmly as he made his way to his mother, who is now playing with her thumbs and biting her lips awkwardly.
"What is it, mother? Tell me" Valdemar said, now in front and so close to his mother.
He is a young gentleman, taller than both of his parents, his second elder sister and his younger sister.
Only Lola and him are the same height.
"You will be seeing a girl each day until the twenty third day and then the fifteenth day after all the meetings, you will choose a bride from any of them" Queen Sarah stated.
It was like the whole castle grounded into pieces on his head as Valdemar stared at his mother, utterly amazed.
His eyes scanned his mother's eyes, trying to find any sign that says she's lying or something.
But all was blank and plain.
His mother told him the truth of the new situation they had introduced to him without him knowing, or having a clue of.
He didn't know what to say. He didn't know how to go about what his mother had just unveiled to him.
"So... Th.. The la... ladies, that will come to see me... What of their families?" Valdemar asked.
His mother smiled and sighed.
"Your father has made a decision. Only him knows what he will do to them an-"
"That isn't fair, Mother! How will it be Father that will make the decisions of my Marital life and of the lives of those girls. The girls will hate me for sure!" he said and couldn't help but groan in anger that both parents are taking actions without thinking.
"I don't know what to do, Valdemar. Your father is-"
"Annoying. Stupid. Amusing" Valdemar chuckled at the thought of saying his father is stupid.
He possibly can't say that in his presence because he knows what it will lead to his death ceremony.
"I'm sorry, Valdemar. You just have to take it" Queen Sarah said and tapped the shoulder of her son in pity and understanding of the type of situation her husband had placed him in without thinking.
But she was also part of the decision, and she now felt embarrassed and regrets held her tight in the chest.
Slowly, she left the room while Valdemar backed her and faced the window of his room.
His Father was a severe pain in the ass alright and he didn't know what he would do to stop all the decision making of his so concerned and accurate Dad, who thinks that decisions he makes are always right.
What's the purpose of getting so much girls when it's just one girl that's needed. It feels like he is the one getting them into captivity while he's actually the nicest one in the Castle.
He pounced on his bed and lies flat on his back.
If he was to be the King of Banneui, and also marry someone from another town, there's a tendency that he's going to have to make his wife known to all neighbouring kingdoms, Including his enemies.
"Oh God" he groaned at the thought of this and buried his head in his pillow.
Even his parents knew nothing about the word "Enemies" Wow, he have to marry someone that will know his adversaries.
He groaned again and dug his head under the soft pillow on the comfy bed, as he thought about this, deeper in his mind than ever.
