Lea stared at them in shock and disbelief. She felt like tearing out her eyelids and crying for the remaining years she had to live in this world.
Who will get the legumes and veggies to eat? Who will clean out the horses dunk when necessary? Who will wash the clothes and go about washing the dishes for people just to earn little money from it that will help a little to buy a few goods so that they may enjoy for sometime and then go look for another when necessary?
Her father was growing old. There was no way he'd do all those. So, now that she's here, what will happen? What will take place for God's sake?
"I'm sorry, Lea" Sarah said and that was when Lea realized that she have been silent for almost a minute.
She unconsciously nodded at them and closed her eyes, inhaling sharply and letting the anger in her to flow out and let her go.
"In the meantime,... " Lin began and Lea opened her eyes.
"Get this dress on and then a little make up and we are done" She said, snapping her fingers in a funny way and smiling, giving Lea joy with the way she talked and how she behaved.
Lea smiled in response as she collected the dress and the two maids exited the room, leaving her alone to change and call them back in when she was done so that they make her up and then they go to see the King.
She looked around and then at the dress in her hand. Turning round to face a mirror, she sighed as she saw the reflection of the girl that had changed overnight.
Lea wore the dress. All she thought of was her father. How was he faring and how was everything going on in Maneth?
Lea who now has the dress on, walked upto the door and opened it. The eyes of Sarah and Lin widened when they saw the yellow dress on her. She looked so beautiful!
Sarah smiled at her and passed unto her a thumbs up with Joy.
"You look... "
"So beautiful" Sarah completed it for Lin as they entered the room and led Lea to the seat opposite the mirror.
"Thank you" Lea said with total pride. She had been taught that whenever someone compliments you, you need to say "Thank you".
She learnt all those from her Dad.
"Now let's do a little make up" Lin said and spun Lea on the chair that she sat on to face the mirror.
"Where is this town?" Lea asked.
"Kingdom. You mean... " Lea made a confused expression when she heard that and Lin saw it through her reflection on the mirror.
"You're in the Castle of Banneui. A Kingdom of about six hundred kilometers away from Maneth town"
Lea said nothing and so Lin stopped there.
"And you are maids, here?" Lea asked after a short while and Sarah replied this time.
"Yes we are"
Lin then applied the eye pencil on Lea's eyebrows and closed the container.
Lea said nothing and so did the two maids that maked her up.
The make up thingy was coming into shape little by little with what they applied.
When they were done, Lin spoke first.
"There. All set" she said and Lea smiled.
The two maids smiled at her and congratulated themselves for their handwork by doing a fist bump.
"Go call Mr Butler" Lin ordered Sarah and she obeyed and exited the room.
When Lea saw that Sarah exited the room, she turned her neck to see Lin packing and packaging all materials she used in the make up procedure.
"I know you don't want to be here" Lea started. She wanted to get someone that will help her to go back to her father.
Lin smiled and turned to face Lea.
"I didn't say that... "
"It's all over. You don't need to say it Lin" Lea said and cutting her short and Lin smiled warmly.
"I want to go and be with my father. He is old and his skin is wrinkled. My father is dying, Lin"
"I cannot help you, Miss Lea" Lin said plainly and Lea calmed down.
Her face showed anger all of a sudden. Hatred and lost of something not exactly known.
She said nothing and that was the last of their conversation until Sarah came in with the so called Mr Butler, or whatever his name is.
The Butler's eyes widen at the sight of Lea. To him, such beauty was magnificent.
"This is a nice piece of work you have displayed here, Lin and Sarah. You look beautiful, Miss" he said and Lea nodded, still sitting on the chair.
"May I lead you to the King and his family? They'd be so happy to see you"
See me? Lea thought that it was only family relations and friends that were always happy when they saw one another.
The outstretched hand of Sir Butler widened a little and so did Sarah and Lin eyes.
Lea stared steadily. She didn't know what move to take. What was happening? She knew nothing about it.
Reluctantly, she accepted his hand and together, they all left the room to the throne room. Passing unto her winks and thumbs ups, Sarah and Lin withdrew when they saw Lea and Mr. Butler enter the throne room in silence.
The heart of Lea started to beat so hard like drums and for once, she walked on heels like a Queen.
A very admirable Queen.
The King and the Queen with their three daughters were talking happily when they entered the room.
But, a male person, sat on one throne with his head bowed down in thoughts. He seemed really taken away with all these thinking terms.
Lea scanned the room and her eyes landed hard on Jen Kun, whose eyes looked like they were desperately suffering from hatred and frustration.
"Your Majesty, This is Lea, from Maneth... "
The male person's head slowly rose up at the mention of Maneth and there she was...
Lea. The girl he had met on the fields, far off other towns.
