"I Know you're there..." A figure who had lost all that kept him human, spoke to the stars around him. "None of this is possible. There's either a being that defies all laws, aka, you. Or the "laws" were never set in stone."
The being stated, continuing to talk to himself as he drifted.
"For example. Me being able to breath in the vacuum called space, let alone being able to talk, shouldn't be possible. On top of that fact, I've lost count. The second I got here, I counted, trying not to lose track of time while letting my mind still run free."
"Yet I still lost count..." The being marveled.
"I've been here for well over a dozen centuries. I've made sense of every single thing that happened in my life, while making sense of things I've only taken glimpses at."
"Such genius is physically- mentally impossible!" He shouted at the space in front of him, angry at the fact that the question he knows the answer to, is yet to be proven.
"I know, you're here." He spoke through gritted teeth.
This went on for hours. The being contemplating his existence and how his current situation even worked.
Yet the only outcome he was able to come to, was a higher being that allowed all of this.
And like that, he continued to scream to space, his yells bouncing off the walls of the universe, reverberating throughout his ears, destroying his eardrums countless times.
...
Nothing makes much sense anymore.
I've been stuck in this place for an unconceivable amount of time, and yet, I'm still failing to comprehend how I even got here.
From using my common sense, its easy to say that I died in my sleep, but even then, how did I get into the vast vacuum of the universe called space?
At first I thought this was the after life, and maybe it is, but I saw myself leave earth and float towards other places.
I was left in space with my body decomposing, yet, leaving behind some astral form in its place. My thought process sped up, and the things I could do with my mind increased.
I could comprehend more complex thoughts, think faster, and even multitask flawlessly.
This led me to a time where all I did was examine my life.
I questioned everything about myself, since of course, I had the infinite time to do so. It took me an unbelievable amount of time, but even after that I didn't stop questioning things.
Without the scientific knowledge that the greatest minds of earth would have, I used my creative brain to spawn "fake" explanations for things.
For example.
The reason space smelt like someone was cooking steak, was because of the burning of stars and other things that happened lightyears away from me.
The gases mixed and created a smell that would torture me forever. After all, who would pass up on food that smells so great.
Yet with my imaginative brain, I still tried to make sense of most things. This led me into a downward spiral, a crisis.
I couldn't figure out how I came here, how I lived, and how I seemingly evolved.
No normal human could survive in a space where oxygen was absent. Nor could they live without food and nourishment. They would forever decline in health, yet it seemed like my health was only increasing.
It led me to thinking- no, knowing.
I knew for a fact that there was a supernatural entity that watched over me. I wasn't very religious but I didn't need to be to understand that this was a fact.
And with these thoughts, I came to revere the being I called "Infinity", yet I also despised it.
It gave me such amazing abilities, but without a use for them, it was like giving a kid their favorite toys, yet locking it in a glass box in front of them and forcing them to stare at it.
But thankfully, "Infinity" would one day respond to me, and give me even more than I could ever ask for.
...
"Hey, Infinity, you know that I love you right." I said into space, thinking about the form of my god.
Multiple thoughts ran through my mind, imagining what this being could look like.
"I just wish you'd show me a sign, you know? I've been here for thousands of years, hating you and loving you for an unbelievable amount of time, yet you still haven't shown me yourself."
"I've seen the Earth, Jupiter, and even the sun up close. Hell, I even left the boundaries of the milky way. I'll never forget the ecstasy of passing through that watery wall."
I continued to relish in my memories until I was rudely interrupted.
Rudely interrupted by something that was quite the opposite of what I expected to happen.
"Yes... enjoyable times." A child like voice sounded, making my eyes widen, and my thoughts freeze.
"I've always loved the minds of the [Cardinal Humans]... Being able to unconsciously peer into other universes was quite an unbelievable gift I granted you all." A small girl with blue skin, cracks covering every crevice of hers, spoke to me.
Her hair was blue, just like her skin, but darker. It covered her eyes, stopping me from examining her features.
"Some of their gifts have even come far enough to routinely observe other verses. Spawning 'stories' of ever growing popularity. It truly is surprising..." She muttered, walking on the space before me, ripples coming from every step she took.
"I have a question for you." She said, putting her hand on my chin and bringing me up to her level, as I was floating awkwardly, and she was standing perfectly.
"Do you want to become a god?" She said, making my eyes that have long ceased to exist, pop out of my ethereal head.
I was still failing to function properly, but I regained a slight amount of my intelligence.
"I-Infinity? Is this... you?" I questioned, tears somehow falling down the cheeks of my shadowy silhouette.
"Yes. Now, do you wish to become a god?" She asked once again, putting off my question and prioritizing hers.
I was still failing to believe what was happening to me, so this question too, was put off, but by me this time.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" I cried, grabbing at her divine body, trying to hold myself up as I released all my stress, crying on her rough and ragged cloth dress.
"Do you wish to overtake my position as the Spawn, and become the creator of all?" She asked me, earning only a confused look before I cried once more.
"Why wont you answer me?!" I muttered angrily.
"If you accept my title, you'll learn the answer to everything." She said, gaining my attention, causing me to look up at her blank shadowy face.
"YES! JUST ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!" I screamed, pulling on and ripping her dress accidently.
"Good." She said.
With that singular word, the space around us distorted, everything shrinking.
With a look, my hands left her, and she too let go of me. I stood in front of her, taller than her by a good amount, yet I still felt smaller.
She placed her hand in front of her and all the stars approached us, abruptly shrinking into a small orb in her palm, leaving nothing around us but darkness.
The marble sized ball in her hand seemed to hold everything. It was like the space that we previously stood in was compressed into this tiny ball.
She looked me in the eyes, giving me the chance to stare into her pure white eyes.
And suddenly, she disappeared, leaving the ball floating in front of me.
"Eat it." I heard her whisper in my ear, making me want to turn around, yet I found I couldn't.
I was incredibly confused, but remembering how she would answer my questions if I ate this small thing, my confusion was overpowered.
I snatched it out of the air in front of me, and shoved it in my mouth.
It dissolved almost instantly, leaving a weird gas falling down my throat. It tasted amazing, like I had finally ate the steak that tortured me for all those years.
But the feeling was quickly overpowered, not by pain, but another wonderful feeling.
*BOOM*
I burped.
My entire body expanded for a second before I exploded. I barfed some sort of grey mist, and my skin started to change colors.
I could feel something inside of me, like a sphere that wouldn't stop growing. I quickly grew concerned and looked around for Infinity.
Though all I saw was the grey mist that I previously vomited, quickly expanding.
I continued to panic, looking down at my body.
It had transformed, leaving behind a texture identical to the space I was bound to for thousands of years before.
Slowly, I could feel the sphere inside me clearer. It continued to expand, making me grow in size too. With each passing second, I could feel some sort of connection with the orb inside me.
I could see it.
The space inside of me, like it was an entirely different realm.
It was at that moment, where I started to look into myself, when my mind was overwhelmed. I could feel pounding, like something was trying to enter my mind, and the door to my head quickly gave in, letting whatever it was enter.
And, I blacked out.
…
…
I woke up with my mind being almost overwhelmed with memories. I gained knowledge of almost everything, and even the memories of Infinity.
Apparently, I had just consumed the entirety of the infinite realities along with Infinity herself who was the embodiment of everything.
Now the only two things in existence were me, and the Outerverse, otherwise known as Beyond, which is also known as the place where I now live.
Even though I learned everything I was still easily broken. Through the memories of Infinity, or Spawn as that was her actual name, I now knew that I was merely a pawn.
A being that was lucky enough to slip through the grasps of true death, and cursed to live forever defying the laws of my universe.
Thanks to the fact that I did such a thing in the [Cardinal Universe], the very first universe and one of the most powerful ones, I caused quite a commotion.
But spawn allowed it to happen, wanting to see how long I could last.
And thanks to my persistence, she found me worthy of taking up her mantle.
Apparently, the vacuum of the Cardinal Universe was one of the most unpredictable things in the entirety of existence.
There were many times where I should have lost my sanity but I somehow didn't, proving to her I had an undeniable willpower.
So in turn, since she knew she was nearing the edge of her lifetime, she dubbed me her predecessor and toyed with my mind. She removed my humanity and rationality I gained from living on "Earth".
She created a being that had no care for anything besides knowledge and power.
Even after knowing what she did to me, I wasn't mad.
Just like how she had "programmed" me, I had a love for knowledge, and knowing how she did this only made me feel better.
She also gave me some sort of god-complex, but that wouldn't be much of a problem considering I was now... God.
...
It took me quite a bit of time to get used to the memories and information I gained, but I eventually did, and along with these memories came a multitude of new found abilities.
I could do anything! I could even give myself omniscience and cure my thirst for knowledge.
But I knew I wasn't going to do this, after all, what's the fun in knowing everything.
I already have a form of omniscience anyway. I'll forever be able to know and do everything, but I wont be all knowing.
Everything wont be constantly flowing in my mind, but If I think about it, I can easily find the answer within my own mind.
Though it isn't as cool as I'd like, it works well.
Utilizing this ability, I sat in the Outerverse for years surfing through my mind and letting the Realities inside of me grow naturally, it was relatively exciting.
I created unimaginable things and let them flow freely throughout the beyond, creating a space filled with essences dense enough to crush planets.
With my new powers, instead of the dark space that I floated around in before, now it was a never ending field of darkness, that had a floor of water.
I enjoyed spending my time in the beyond, observing the Realities forming inside me. I looked on as large disks grew to form universes where primitive life was held.
Or the vast universal clusters that had minds that would come to rival the greatest beings from the novels I read all that time ago.
It was interesting, to say the least.
...
…
Spawn sat in the void, playing with a red brick that he had recently created. "When will I enter..." A deep and wisdom filled voice sounded throughout the Outerverse.
"I'm the spawn of everything, even the Outerverse considering it was birthed from my burp." He chuckled, standing up straight and peering into the space before him.
A purple crack appeared, and soon after a hole was left. It was jagged and broken with the edges emitting a purple energy.
"Hmm..." Spawn hummed.
"[The Path]" As he said these words, the portal exploded with energy and became dozens of times more stable.
He had created a Natural Law that enforced the fact that named existences would be innately more powerful.
"Good." He muttered, before stepping through the portal, leaving the Beyond for the first time, and entering the space inside of him.
