Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Journey Through Existence

He arrived on the other side, the place where Spawn stepped, had been named [The Path]. Taking after the portal he had just created to enter this space.

The space in between realities was filled with nothing else but an uncountable amount of realities and other dimensions.

It was a place of unbelievable size, spanning across a distance larger than the Outerverse. Although Spawn knew that the Outerverse will eventually grow larger, its still a sight to marvel at since there are actual things that he could see here….

He slowly walked on a section of space passing by the many crystallized fractured that showcased major events of their realities.

He continued to walk, pausing at a peculiar cracked mirror that had shown a small child toying with dozens of universes at his fingertips.

"Haha!" The child chuckled, before crushing one of the floating circles under his fingertips, dispersing all life that existed in said universe.

"To hold such power in his own domain, yet have almost none outside of it..."

Spawn said with a hint of sadness for the little creature.

"Oh well." He said, before returning to his adventure walking down the path of existence.

...

It was a pleasant journey watching the events of the realms he passed, though none of them held any allure.

He simply strode past the dimensions, creating concepts he would put to use at a later date.

That was until he had finally found something that truly interested him.

It was merely a game of chess between two beings.

That's it.

In their own dimension, that was the biggest he had come across so far, was only a table, two chairs, and a chess board.

"It never fails to surprise me Brother. It seems neither of us will ever win." A middle aged woman wearing sunglasses spoke with shock.

"Well, we are both omniscient to an extent, so it does make sense as to why neither of us can win..." The old man who sat across from her spoke.

He wore a top hat, suit, and a monocle, which was quite an outfit for a friendly chess match.

Even though they were both omnipotent, just like the child from earlier, they didn't hold nearly as much power outside of their respective realms.

Though Spawn didn't care much, their power would never amount to anything next to his.

As he was watching their game, he heard a few thoughts that seemed to covered up by a very thick line of defense, yet even that was still weak to him.

~Someone is watching us Sister.~ The one in the top hat, otherwise known as Brother communicated with the other.

~I can tell. It seems it's not trying to hide it either.~ Sister responded.

~Correct, and to be able to peer into our dimension with such ease isn't a small feat considering the barriers we have set up... It clearly holds unimaginable power since it would hard for us to even look outside, let alone looking inside.~

The two continued to chat in their minds while playing their game of chess, as if trying to make it seem like they never noticed anything.

They were even able to hold an entirely different conversation with their words while communicating in their minds.

~I don't sense any evil intent coming from it, so we should be fine.~ Sister said, making Brother realize the same.

~It seems so... But it does feel weird to not glance at the origin of this being.~ Brother responded.

~Yes yes, anything to do with this being is blocked.~ For the both of them it was an intriguing phenomenon but they didn't feel scared at all.

Which was of course thanks to Spawn's influence.

He planned on thanking them for giving him some entertainment, but he didn't want them to be scared of him before he even showed himself.

...

He watched the twin omnipotents play for a while and listened to their thoughts, but eventually, he started to get bored.

He stepped through the watery mirror before him, and appeared in the dark space where the two omni-beings were playing their chess match. "Hello my creations!" He waved, approaching the two.

Being the spawn of everything in existence, he naturally had a connection to everything, and existed in everything.

Sister's attention was immediately caught by Spawn, and she was incredibly curious as to who the frighteningly powerful being in front of her was.

She could only feel a fraction of Spawn's power, yet she knew even this was enough to erase her existence with just a glance.

"Hello..." The two said together, looking at the white almost featureless figure that stood over them.

It was as if his body was a smooth white marble, with his only defining features being the black eyes, and the generic mouth on his face.

"Allow me to introduce myself!" Spawn started. "I am Spawn! The Creator, the True All-Father!" He said while waving his hands in the air, creating small fireworks above the table.

"Anyway, I was beyond the boundaries of the realities and came across this unique realm."

"Who would've thought you two would use an entire plane to hold a chess game..." He chuckled, making the two look at him with a smile.

"Ah, we've actually battling it out for Aeons, just to see who gets to create and rule our reality, how funny is that." The more powerful of the two beings, The Sister, said, earning a chuckle from the whole group.

"After all, two all-powerful beings can't rule one plane!" Brother added.

The Sister nodded in agreement and turned to Spawn.

"Exactly, so why are you two here?" Spawn asked seriously, confusing the two ancient beings.

"Sister, you're clearly more powerful than this old man, so you can govern this place. Brother, I'll give you a brand new dimension. You can both stop this never ending torturous game of chess." Spawn chuckled, looking towards the two for a sign of approval.

"You can create Realities?" The Sister asked, but quickly cut herself off.

"Of course you can. You are the father of everything, it would be a shame if you couldn't do something as small as this." She finished with a small smile.

"Well, that is true." Spawn chuckled, touching the two on the shoulders.

"So what is it? Will you be fine with moving to another space and creating your own realm? I'll even create a tether between your homes, but it'd be best if you got someone to govern it just in case." He said.

"I'm fine with this." The Brother said, looking towards his Sister.

"I agree." She answered with a carefree attitude.

"Then so be it!" Spawn spoke loudly, gripping Brother's shoulders a little harder and letting go of The Sister as the other two left the dimension.

They appeared in [The Path], right next to the dimension they just exited.

*GASP*

The Brother felt all his power being sapped away.

Which of course made sense considering he had just left his home for the first time.

After all, that place was his birthplace and he was ingrained in the workings of the dimension, making him and the Reality one in the same.

Spawn raised one of his hands and created a Reality right in front of The Brother's weak eyes.

He quickly tossed him inside of it and built him into the fabrics of the reality.

This action instantly made him Omnipresent once again, along with the addition of nigh-omnipotence.

"This is my gift to you!" Spawn said, granting him a the physiology of a god, which was merely a greater ability which granted him full omnipotence in his home along with a multitude of other abilities.

"Goodbye my child!" Spawn waved before stepping back into The Sister's world.

"I hope you use this opportunity to create a great multiverse, I'll be back to check on it every once in a while." He said, nodding at The Sister who only looked back with reverence.

"Yes father."

Spawn stepped through reality and arrived in the Path once again. He smoothly turned and continued to stride between realities while creating countless artifacts, concepts, and essences in his mind.

"Hmm... I wonder, could I split this Reality?" He thought aloud, twirling multiple gems around his fingers. "Doesn't matter, I'll do it eventually." He chuckled to himself, walking towards a random dimension.

He snapped his fingers and made it multiply in size and stepped through it like he did with his previous dimension, preparing for some more fun.

...

He arrived in the skies above a world and something went wrong immediately.

The instant he appeared, his mass threw off gravity. He was too dense for the universe to handle, and subsequently, spawned an infinitesimally small black hole at his feet.

"Oops." He spoke, reversing everything that had just happened. He stopped the laws of the universe from imprinting their will on him and looked down towards the world.

Him being present in the atmosphere of the planet under him caused a fierce storm on the ground.

Unluckily for the town that had been hit by an abrupt thunder storm, Spawn didn't care enough to stop it.

He slowly floated down, making himself unable to be seen by any normal human as he could easily tell that this world was similar to his original.

There was a lack of anything supernatural except for a few exceptions, such as the being he was flying towards.

...

In a grave yard stood two young adults.

One standing inside a dug up grave relentlessly stabbing the rotting corpse that laid inside.

"Jeez Tommy..." The other who stood outside the grave said.

"This guy really messed you up didn't he..." Tommy, the one who was inside the grave finally stopped driving the iron rod into the dead body and jumped out of the grave.

He swiftly walked over to a bucket of gasoline off to the side making his friend follow behind him.

As he knelt down on the ground to pick up the gasoline, a stray lightning bolt struck the metal rod lodged inside of the corpse, the impact sending the two flying.

Looking back at the grave the two were surprised, but once again, the corpse was struck by lightning.

Although this time something more happened.

The corpse was seemingly reanimated, lying in the grave as its skin was eaten away at by maggots. It's eyes darted around before locking onto the sky way above it.

In its mind, only a thought surfacing.

~Scared...~

...

Spawn looked down into the grave, staring right into the eyes of the cursed being. ~Hmm.~ He hummed to himself, going into thought.

"Supernatural strength, durability, stealth, senses, and tracking. Along with insane regeneration, resurrection, teleportation, pain immunity, self-sustenance, unlimited stamina, and demonic physiology..." Spawn muttered, gliding down towards the cursed undead.

"You can even possess others... You grow stronger with each death, and you'll forever come back to life. You have little intelligence as your brain is smaller than a dinosaurs. When you were born you were already mentally disabled yet with your first death the lack of oxygen made you even dumber." He said in a voice only the undead could hear.

One of the boys was currently trying to remove the metal rod from its body but it didn't seem to care.

"You thirsted to avenge the death of your parents as you watched them get murdered right in front of you... When taking your first life you found you enjoyed it and couldn't stop."

"All of this happened, merely because your family dabbled with undead magic." Spawn said with pity as he watched the being grow annoyed and murder one of the two boys.

"I'll take care of this for you." He said, erasing the mind and soul of the other boy, who was on the verge of escaping.

It didn't take long for the undead to remember the being that had made it feel afraid, and it turned to find it once more.

Spawn landed right in front of the demon, looking down at it even though it stood at almost 7 feet.

"Adam King."

...

Spawn was currently enjoying the joy of experimentation in a technologically advanced lab.

A 7 foot tall undead killer relentlessly beating a metal wall that displayed his output of damage off to the side.

He had taken the killer from his home and rebuilt his timeline, effectively creating a copy of him and letting his timeline play out like it was supposed to.

Spawn had given this Undead higher intelligence, and allowed him to grow further.

Ever since he had watched the chess match between The Sister and The Brother, he had decided on creating a game of sorts.

Although this game would be quite unorthodox, that was the fun of uniqueness.

He had come up with the magnificent idea of having realms clash.

He would gather a few clusters of universal filaments and pit them against each other in a apocalyptic situation.

He had yet to decided on the prize but he didn't really care about them anyway.

He only wanted to see how beings from different planes would fight.

If a mindless killing machine were to fight with a loving child who was even stronger than it, how would the battle play out?

Would the child win because of sheer strength and abilities, or would it's mind be too weak to fight back and would it lose?

Spawn wanted to find this out for himself and without the help of his omniscience.

After all, he found seeing things happen through experimentation much more enjoyable then just knowing the outcome.

*BOOM*

He stopped examining the growth of a new Undead embryo and looked over towards the original Adam King.

The wall he had beat was dented quite a bit.

"Good, good." He said, getting out of his seat, letting the essence of time alter the wall, returning it to its previous state. The metal he had used was titled Vorhinium, which was even stronger than the adamantine that could be found in The Sister's realm.

Thanks to the time difference between realms, The Sister's universe had grown greatly and was already on its second cycle if he could recall correctly.

"You're growing nicely." Spawn said with awe. Adam had only died 18 times yet his abilities had grown even more.

His regeneration speed had increased too, which made death even harder, but when he does die, he resurrects relatively quickly and becomes almost immune to death the way he died previously.

This act of never ending evolution intrigued Spawn, making him wonder how it even worked.

A being that only thinks of killing, having the ability to constantly grow from battles is surely an interesting combo.

Adam also has a problem with speaking, though that didn't bother Spawn much.

~If you evolve from each death and become nigh-invulnerable to that specific way of death after revival...~ He thought, standing in front of Adam.

He walked towards him, phasing through his body and standing still inside of him.

With a click, Spawn stopped his intangibility and caused Adam to fall apart from the inside, effectively, killing him.

"Immune to intangibility now?" He asked, looking at the limp body that was a puddle of sludge on the ground, slowly rebuilding itself on a molecular level.

"Eh." Adam grunted, pushing itself off the ground as it continued to grow.

It took a few seconds, but he finally stood at his normal height again, which was approximately 2.5 meters.

Spawn once more stepped forward and phased through him, making sure to not use his omnipotence but just his ability to phase.

Contrary to his predictions, instead of Adam just taking no damage, he took no damage while instead Spawn took the damage.

"Hmm." Spawn hummed.

He took a step and arrived outside of Adam's body, and it didn't effect him whatsoever.

"Successful." He said, pulling out a notepad and scribbling things down.

"You're now immune to death by burning, drowning, having your heart removed, blood loss, mental overload, being destroyed from the inside, and many other things." Spawn said, earning a nod from Adam.

"I guess we can go back to your world and you can do your thing."
