Chapter 44 - Chapter 42- The Drunken Sailor

Camb got 'chicken-flavoured dog food with the fragrance of mint and parsley, and the goodness of proteins and carbs' What a big name!

Dan woke early in the morning and got a sailing boat made of steel and aluminium for 300 basils. He produced 5 gold coins, put them in the ATM slot, and took 300 basils from the machine.

They had already brought some fishing lines with them. Fayette caught smaller fish with her 'mystic fish food'. They put all the fish in a box, packed some food and the necessities and boarded the sailboat. They hoisted the sails and a red flag. In Fantalasia, a red flag meant that the boat/ship is sailing good and there are no problems ahead.

The lake's large, and it's early morning, so they could trade the fish and leave the village after the new year, then buy some goods and carry on.

Dan puts his fishing lines into the water. It's 9 in the morning. He started fishing at 8. Now he has fished 7 salmon and 3 tuna fish. They decided to eat their breakfast aka sandwiches.

They stopped the boat near an old deck, which was in cracks. They also found another sailing ship, rather big than theirs. The ship was made of wood. It was a caravel.

"Dan boarded the ship, he found nobody. It was not a shipwreck; it was in good condition.

"There's nobody here, though it's in good quality. Let's search around." Dan yelled to his friends.

They would not have walked 50 yards when they came over a sailor, in dizziness and five other sailors, pulling him and urging him to wake up.

"What's the problem, folks?" Dan asked them.

One of them said, "We're trying to wake'em up. He's drunk, mon ami, already up in the mornin'."

The Drunk man told, "Whatcha doin' folks. Lemme sleep here for a while."

"That's too bad of you! You must learn from your friends." Fayette said.

"You little fairy. I know everything. Don't instruct me, you tiny monster. You're a squirrel."

Fayette's head became a tomato. Others were astonished. Fayette roared.

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy, do you hear Mister Mountain!'

"How dare you call me a mountain! What's the thingy in callin' me like dat? If you say so, you can't bear forests on your back like me!"

"If I couldn't bear mountains, I could do far more easy tasks you couldn't do. I could crack open a nut, but you, being a giant, couldn't!"

Everyone laughed at her revenge speech. The Drunken Sailor felt ashamed of this remark. He immediately got up and ran for the ship.

At first, they didn't take note of it, then they realized why he really went to the ship. He went for the bed, where he had his collection of whisky. He took a 100ml bottle finished it off.

"Nonsense, can't you understand the difference between good and bad.", asked Fayette.

The captain came up with an idea. He then broke into tune.

"What will we do with a Drunken Sailor?"

"Oh my goodness, here we go.", sighed Fayette.

The captain sang the song which contained the rules on what to do with a Drunken Sailor.

"First, y'all have to shave his belly with and rusty razor, early in the mornin'"

It was not early morning indeed. It's almost noon now. Anyways they didn't care and shaved his belly with a rusty razor.

"Dat won't do anythingy to me!", said the drunken fellow.

"Put 'em in a longboat and let him sail forever.", the captain told. The sailors' plan was actually that to banish him away from his crew. You see, that sailor wouldn't do any work assigned to him and would be just sleeping all day round, drinking bottles of whisky and a night, he won't let others sleep, as he behaves crazy. One time, he almost burned up the ship. That's why they have plotted to exile him to a great place ideal for him. They sent the boat to a small island. It was inhabited, but a paradise of a zoo of animals. There are snakes over there, so does some eagles, caimans and even cougars! So...you know why they're sending him there.

Dan, Fayette and the blue pooch decided to move on, not wasting time. They have got lots of fish. Dan fished some more.

They counted the fish. There were 33 tunas, 20 salmon, a small pike and 4 trouts.

They couldn't transport all of these fish by themselves. Williams came to their help. He had finished all the mending work. He brought his truck to the very place. They loaded the horse, the goods, and the fish.

By evening, they were at home. Dan gave Williams half of all the fishes. He got 15 tunas, 10 salmon, and 3 trouts. It's new year's eve tomorrow, and Williams could trade them tomorrow. At night, Dan bought ice boxes to keep the fish inside. He bought 5 boxes and kept the fish in those boxes. The first, 7 tunas; the second, 8 tunas; the third and fourth, each 5 salmon; and the last with the 2 trouts.

That day, they cooked the pike. To cook a pike is somewhat a tough task. But Madonna, Williams' wife, could cook even the toughest recipes. She was frying chicken in the kitchen from age 3! The fish was scrumptious. Fayette was sad that Isaac and Rebecca devoured mouthwatering dishes every day, but she didn't. To make her happy, Dan gave her tomato ketchup in a bottle cap. She becomes happy when she eats ketchup and nobody, not even she knows why.

By the by, our heroes are gonna face lots of challenges in the upcoming days. And, they didn't know they would get an unworthy welcome so soon...
