Verona smiled warmly at Tristan's clingy nature.
Tristan continued as he stroked Verona's hair. "By the way, someone important is coming to town today." He said with a playful look in his eyes.
Verona looked up at him with curiosity. "Who is it?" She couldn't think of anybody at all. She had a lonely childhood and did not make a lot of friends. "I couldn't really guess." She frowns a little.
Tristan could only pinch her cheeks. "Don't frown, you're too cute for that." He teased. He leans down and whispers a familiar name in Verona's ear. "It's Delia."
Verona looked at Tristan with teary eyes. Delia is her one and only cousin and the only remaining family she has left. Delia helped Verona with her expenses in going to writing school since Verona wanted to be a writer in Enthrone Publishing ever since she was a young girl. She never minded on what position she'd be in but as long as she gets to write stories for the people.
Tristan looked at her in a little worry. "You don't want to see her?" He held her right cheek.
A tear ran down Verona's cheek and Tristan brushed it with his finger. He knows how much Delia is important to Veronaa since he had also ordered his men to have a background check on Verona a few months back.
It's not been long that Verona made her dream come true by being a writer of Enthrone Publishing but it's been so long that she had last seen her cousin.
Verona looked at Tristan with doubt. "How did you know she was coming?" SHe them looked at him with worry. "She couldn't really afford that much money to travel from our home town to here." Her words were laced with sadness and embarrassment.
Tristan smiled sweetly. "I made her come here." He started. "I made my men go and find her and bring her to you. Since you already work here and have good pay, I'd think of hiring her here or at my mansion so that you two can be together again." he finished. He grinned when he saw a smile slowly reach Verona's face.
Verona couldn't contain how excited she was, how happy she is and how thankful she is to Tristan. She tiptoed and reached Tristan's lips with hers.
Tristan's eyes go wide from the sudden action. His heart stopped for a second, his heart beating loudly like it could make him go deaf. Verona pulled back and had a red taint on her cheeks, knowing how embarrassing that was but so worth it.
"I-I have a c-client in five. I'll see you later, Tristan!" She hurriedly say with a stutter as she runs out the room.
Tristan was frozen in time for a whole minute then he slowly reached to touch his lips. "Oh...my...gosh." He said as realization hit him that Verona did really kiss him. "OH MY GOSH!" His face turned bright red and the hairs on his body stood up from the sensation.
Flirting with Verona was one thing but a kiss from her took Tristan on cloud nine. The pits of his stomach were filled with butterflies. His mind was busy replaying the moment over and over again.
"Sir! Are you alright?!" Loud footsteps close in and Tristan snapped out of his trance, hurrying to his desk. He took the mask from his table and put it on quickly.
The door opened and Tristan sat on his desk, pretending that he was always there from the beginning.
He looked out his office window and spot Verona outside, walking around in circles. She was hiding her face and slapping her sheeks.
Tristan could only chuckle but frown in the inside. 'When am I gonna tell you the truth?'
