The city center is not as busy since it was a weekend. Cafe's were quiet and so is the market. Verona and Delia make their way into a clothes shop and shop for the most modest clothing that could cover the appearances of the scars on Delia's skin.
They didn't look suspicious at all since more and more people wanted to wear modest clothing ever since the new queen decreed a new law. It was to make all women of the entire kingdom wear clothes that would cover their skin.
Spies of the Enthrone Publishing have made articles and noted opinions from other noblemen that the queen is insecure.
Delia picked a long dress with long sleeves with a white to blue gradient dress. She still hid her hair with the cloth that she wore.
They both went next to a wizard at the end of the center where the city border is. They opened the door to his shop. The shop looked like any typical wizard's shop. The walls were covered with shelves full of potions and spellbooks. Cabinets full of ingredients were everywhere.
A middle-aged man stood behind a wooden desk, reading a spellbook. Delia cleared her throat and looked at the wizard with a smile. "Good day, sir. I'm here for an eye color change."
The wizard works for nobody. He certainly knows who Delia is and what she did not too long ago. He doesn't reveal any information to anybody and he can't be persuaded to do or say anything. The wizard had too much of a clean record to be suspicious, making him the most reliable wizard in the kingdom.
The wizard looked from his book, looked at Delia with a half-smile but raised a brow when he saw Verona. "Who's this with you? A new subordinate? I thought you were trying to hide." He joked.
Delia shook her head and laughed a little. "This is my believed cousin, Verona. I am hiding. I wanted to change my appearance. I want to spend the rest of my life in peace."
The wizard nodded and stood up from his chair. "An eye color change, you say?" The wizard took another book from a shelf. "What color?" He asked as he opened the book.
The wizard motioned Delia to sit in front of the desk. "Black" She said.
Verona had to praise her cousin since having black eyes would change how she would look after having a lighter eye color.
The wizard came over and chanted under his breath. He lifted his hand and placed it over Delia's eyes. He then backed away after a few seconds and smiled. "Alright. You now have black eyes."
Delia opened her eyes and looked at her cousin Verona.
Verona smiled as she was in shock. Her cousin really looked different. 'I can't believe this is still Delia.' She thought with astonishment.
Delia turned around to look at the wizard. "Thank you so much sir. I want to ask if you have shears or a dagger? I need to cut my hair." She said.
The wizard went to grab a dagger under his desk and handed it to Delia. She took off the cloth that was on her head and cut her hair into a short bob. The dull golden hair dropped to the ground and the wizard picked it up.
"This will be the payment." The wizard said with a smile.
Delia nodded. "For a sun potion?"
The wizard shook his head. "For a disguise wig. It's in demand right now." He said as he placed the hair inside one of the drawers.
