the tension between the two could be cut in half with a knife. Tristan looked leaned in and planted his lips onto Verona's. The tension was now replaced with a lovely ere like it was a flick of a switch.
'Perhaps I've been thinking too much about it.' Verona said as Tristan retracted from the intimate action, making both of them blush. "I love you too, Tristan...I really do. It's just what about the consequences?" She said as she looked at the other writers eating.
Tristan shook his head. "Listen, I've planned everything and I'm sure that even the King can't part us." He said with confidence.
Tristan could feel that someone was staring at both of them but it didn't make him walk away from her. He knows that no spies can dare write about an article about an affair.
After a few hours, Verona and Tristan went to the train station. Veron anxiously waits for her dear cousin to arrive. 'It's been so long since I've last seen her.' She missed her so much and she couldn't contain her excitement.
Tritan wrapped his arm around Verona's shoulder. He knows that this would be a very special moment for her and an emotional reunion.
The next train arriving was now in sight. Verona started to fidget with her hands and breathe deeply. Tristan smiled a little, taking in how genuine Verona was in wanting to see her cousin again. A warm feeling crept into his heart that made his ears red and his soul full.
The train got to a full stop and people started to get out of the train. Fathers reunited with their families. Mothers reunited with their children and elder people get to meet their grandchildren. The happiness of every individual around them was contagious.
A soft voice called from behind. "Verona?"
Verona turned around and her eyes started to tear up. It was her cousin, Delia.
Verona's smile turned into a scared expression. She didn't like how her cousin looked. Her cousin was never ugly but her face looked like she was brutally abused.
Verona compared the old image of her cousin and what she looked currently in her head. Her once bright golden hair withered into a greyish yellow. Her hazel eyes looked tired and blank. Her skin that once was smooth and flawless is now covered with bruises, scars, blemishes, and stitches.
Delia's smile was not as bright as Verona remembered. Her body was frail and thin, making Verona think twice about hugging her cousin. It was like she was starving.
Verona shed a tear with her horrified face, making Delia frown.
Her cousin sighed and gave her a small smile. "I know I'm not easy to look at right now. I'll explain soon enough."
Tristan was the only one who could still save them from an awkward trance. He cleared his throat and held out a hand to Delia. "It's nice to finally meet you, Delia. I assume you're hungry from a long trip."
Delia nodded and shot Tristan a thankful look. They both could only look at Verona who was in shock and visibly heartbroken.
'She must've felt guilty for her cousin.' Tristan thought as he looked at the trembling girl in his arms.
