After making sure that Rohan was feeling calmer, Luna let him go.
He nervously glanced between his sister and his arms. She would probably ask about what happened at the alley with those gangsters. Maybe even about the nightmare he just had. He knew he spoke out loud in his sleep, he had been doing that for a while now.
"Brother, you need to eat." Rohan was caught by surprise.
Somehow her attempt to distract him about these things worked. He felt warm. His sister cared about him.
Although his pride as a man was wounded because his sister was able to do something he was not, he was glad. Glad that his sister was strong.
Rohan nodded his head but before he could let any words out, a loud rumbling noise filled the silent room.
Looking down, he realized that his stomach was agreeing with Luna's remark. A foolish grin appeared on his face as he scratched the back of his head with his right hand.
Luna didn't mind. She turned and grabbed the container with abalone and shredded chicken porridge in it. She then opened the plastic wrapper for the spoon, took it out and handed it to him while telling him to be careful of his left arm.
As he started eating, she heated up some water from the kitchen so Rohan could have some warm water to drink with the painkillers and sleeping pill, then took out the two kimbap rolls that she bought to eat while she waited.
When that was done, Luna covered him in multiple cold patches to reduce the swelling and helped him to his room.
Like her room, the room was extremely messy but the bed was still alright so she laid him down and told him to sleep. Rohan happily complied.
Luna left the room and closed the door to his bedroom behind her. Once out in the hallway, her entire aura changed.
She no longer had the aura of a worried little sister. The air around her was starting to freeze by the second as she walked towards the living room sofa.
Grabbing the laptop and phone that she bought earlier in the day, she went into her bedroom and closed the door behind her.
Due to lack of use, the desk in the corner of her room was pretty clean so she put the devices down there. Turning them on, she asked Sachi to help her set them up while she finished cleaning the room.
Taking out new covers, she made the bed. The bedsheets that fell near the door were still there so she brought them inside her room.
Since Rohan was still in the house sleeping, she decided to do all the laundry tomorrow morning for fear of waking him up or disturbing the neighbors with the noises from the washing machine.
She dusted the beds and picked up a big garbage from the floor, not that there was much inside it. By the time that she was done, Sachi was also done setting up both the laptop and phone with data from the previous phone that she lost at the party.
Sitting down on the chair, Sophia picked up her phone. Looking at the features, she was a bit surprised.
They were more advanced. Her past phones were also touch screens but they were more sloppy and laggy, while this new phone was slick in every way.
From the advanced design of the phone itself to the simple but elegant app buttons and designs, everything was more advanced.
While she was looking over the phone her eyes fell on the date.
July 12, 3023
'3023?'
Sophia looked up at Sachi with amusement. They had kept her in the room for 4 years?
"They held their wedding on April 25th this year."
Sophia nodded her head. It made sense.
They couldn't marry with her still alive and they couldn't kill her so easily so they held off their wedding. It was, after all, only a matter of difference in the title for them. Their fear and hatred ran deep and they wouldn't risk anything for it. More than anything they wanted her to suffer but if they got married it would be like selling the entire deal.
Jackson was like her bright light in life. If they don't get married Jackson would still be the light despite being so dim. Sophia would have a little hope. Diminishing that little hope little by little was what made Layla and Jackson refrain from getting married.
What they didn't know was that she never really loved Jackson. Sophia's light was not the scum who claimed to love her, but Layla. The adorable sister that she lived her life for.
Letting out a little chuckle of self-mockery, Sophia opened the phone app. Dialing a string of numbers she put the phone near her ears and waited.
The other person picked up the phone very quickly as if they'd been waiting. Waiting for her to call.
"Hello?" The voice was nervous and muscular.
Sophia's lips curled up in a smirk, "Did you miss me?~"
The person on the other line went silent. A few seconds later loud crashing noises came through. It seemed as though the person on the other line had knocked over a glass.
Seemingly still not believing the person on the phone so as not to get his hopes up, the voice asked, "Who are you?"
His voice was stern and questioning filled with immense threat. It held power, the power to make you tell the truth against your will.
Sophia's smile got broader when she heard his question. "Aye~ you forgot about your Sugar Mommy within the span of a few years? tsk tsk tsk."
The man on the other side of the phone was dumbstruck.
He has been searching for Sugar Mommy for the past 4 years but he found nothing! Just when he was about to give up his job because he couldn't find her, she called!
In a rush to get up he tripped on the wheels of the chair and fell down but that didn't matter to him. His face was still holding a smile. "You- Y-You're back?"
He asked, trying and failing to hide excitement in his voice. Sophia could detect his joy through the phone even in a body with terrible assessment abilities.
"En. I'm back." Her voice was back to being cold and stern. She didn't call for pleasantries after all.
"You're in Niya City?" Leaning back on the chair, Sophia confirmed his location with him. "Yes." KL was a bit surprised about how she knew that he was in Niya City but he believed it must've been another one of her surprising skills.
"En. I'm going to send you an address, Send my baby to it. Also, find some easy delivery jobs with good money within the city for me." Her voice was cold and emotionless as she spits out orders for KL.
Not daring to question her orders, KL nodded his head but after realizing that she couldn't see him, he spoke up in a loud voice like a soldier accepting his orders. "Yes, Boss!"
Sophia had her phone away from her ear as though she already knew he would shout over the phone. "Keep my presence hidden."
KL nodded his head like an obedient little kid agreeing to whatever his parents say. Silence loomed as KL silently thought for a moment while Sophia silently waited for him.
"Will you return?"
The air around Sophia froze for a second as darkness loomed all about her room. With her voice still cold like the unfathomable abyss, Sophia answered his curiosity. An evil smirk hung on her lips. "Sugar Daddy still needs to collect sugar to give to my baby, don't you agree?" 'Though my baby left and I have a temporary one.'
KL could swear he felt a chill run down his spine when he heard her voice. 'This is my Sugar Mommy alright.'
Shaking away his thoughts, KL accepted her orders and started his work when Sophia hung up.
"Sachi, find a parking lot near the main intersection, and send him the location."
The apartment was hidden away by taller buildings, it would take ages to get through the alleyway even with a motorbike. The noise from her baby might attract unnecessary attention.
It's better to keep the motorbike within reach near the main intersection so that she can get away with no one recognizing her.
Sophia typed away on the laptop, reading news articles and catching up on the world without the help of Sachi. She wanted to make herself tired so she could sleep easily but it was already midnight and she showed no signs of wanting to sleep.
Sophia got up from the chair and headed to the bed anyway. Laying down on the bed, she played a piano collection of artists.
Lulling herself to sleep was no easy task but at least it worked. Sleep came to her after what seemed like an eternity
