Chapter 5 - The tower

A year passed by rapidly and I am now 5 years old in this world. I have gotten used to living here and all the magic stuff being taught by Navi has been very useful in my daily life. I was successfully being able to create a third magic circle which meant that the features I asked the gods before coming here are now in my hands. Surprisingly enough, the times I have used the online shop have been limited to 0. Yes, there is no soap as I feared but there is a very useful cleaning spell I made Navi taught me because of this.

Just I thought so, in this world magic is complicates. They work by magic transfigurations, circles, and so on. I find myself to be able to understand how It works and how to use it, but just imagining what I want is way more successful when It comes to making magic here. Maybe it's because the countless of novels and anime I used to watch back on earth that made me so creative when It comes to it.

Even though a year has passed here, due to Navi's training it felt as of three years have gone by. Having a fourth magic circle at my age is impossible, Navi has stated many times that I will have to wait until I am six years of age to be able to start making it. She said this is only possible because in her realm I am practically an eight-year-old.

Still, I have a lot of free time now so I decided to reinforce every barrier I had made and to also add barriers into my second and third circle. Hey, it is not bad to be cautious right? I still can't go out of the castle even though the crown prince already has a fiancée.

After I complete the fourth circle getting the other one will be a piece of cake, or so does Navi has told me.

In this world, there is a total of ten magic circles, and only my descendant, Titania, was able to make the eleventh one thanks to having the spirits and Fairy's blessing.

Now that the world is in a state of peace the max level magic circles you will find in sorcerers have been reduced to eight and they are supposed to be the strongest.

After a year of living in this new world, I have seen my grandfather sometimes crying, not for me but for someone else. The doctor keeps coming in secret and she always goes directly to a desolated tower in the castle. Each time she comes out of that tower her face seems to get older with the grief she can't help but show.

Every time I asked I was answered with Sutter. The servants and my grandfather always seemed to avoid my questions regarding that tower.

The tower in comparison to the whole castle looked new. It was placed in the deepest part of the state. It was a single tower, standing alone in a path of Moon grass.

Moon grass is a plant that looked like normal grass, but when nighttime came it will always shine a beautiful baby blue. Moon grass absorbs mana during the day and releases it as purer mana.

It was a beautiful sight yet whenever I stared for too long my eyes will start to cry and my chest would feel tight.

As the months went by, the moon grass slowly interviewed itself between the tower's walls making it seem out of a fairytale.

Each passing day I saw my grandfather weeping a bit noisier than before. The servant's smile became a pretended one and the once beautiful atmosphere in the castle was gone.

I felt like even the ghost in the castle were quiet waiting patiently for the news. Even Navi was quiet, she no longer talks as before and only talks when needed.

Everything felt doomed.

Adela couldn't fall asleep. Her family feelings appeared also to have affected her.

She now finds herself staring once again toward that tower. The silhouette of it forever burned into her mind and her heart in pain. It felt as if the tower kept talking to her, asking her to come closer. To let it see her once again.

She made her way out to the balcony, her body now found itself standing on top of the railing. If she was more conscious of what she was doing she would know that was dangerous. She stepped outside the railings, and before she could fall the moon grass from the tower made itself towards her as a path. The moon grass started to release a lot of mana, calling forth the wind to make Adela a path towards the tower that seemed to come closer with each step she took.

Slowly walking towards it, the sudden smell of medicine and herbs invaded her nostrils. The soft-hard breaths becoming louder with each step she took. The tower was made of only one room at the very top of it and an endless number of stairs that looked as if they could break down anytime.

With each step she took, the stairs will cry and a strong odor of medicine will come by with the wind.

After finally arriving at the very top of it, her body froze in front of that wooden door. The door was full of magic circles meant for healing and air cleansing. The tears couldn't stop falling and it felt as if a bucket of cold water was thrown into her.

With shaky hands, she slowly opened that door, with each breath her heart accelerated. With each creak, her eyes cried harder than before. She slowly made her way into the room, quietly as if her life depended on it. The strong smell of medicine made her hand cover her nose. She made her way towards the window and opened it to make the smell a bit lesser.

The small noises of breathing caught her attention. Now she found herself standing beside a small bed. The person who lays there had their back turned against her. The blanket will go up and down slowly with each breath that person took. Yet, as that person continued to breathe, she couldn't. Her face pale as if she had seen a ghost, all she could feel was the wind slowly hitting her back. She knew who this person was.

But how?

This sickly person.

This small kid...

This person...

Was supposed to be dead.
