I wake up in a white void and think, 'This crap is getting old fast.'
I see just an endless void after staring around at the void for a few minutes. It finally hit me... I'm dead…
No more complaining about work with my friends, no random text from my mom about the stupid stuff about my little niece thinks I do at the Pentagon, I won't be able to visit my grandmother's grave again, or see my niece walk, or even have kids own to love and cherish. Now that I'm in this void with no wonders or potential dangers to distract me from it, it finally hits me with full force. I've lost everything.
I sit there for a few minutes, contemplating what I've lost, but I can't stop. I don't know if those things can follow me or not, and I don't want to find out if I can die twice or what happens if I do.
I decided to pick a direction and start walking. Turning around, I walk for twenty minutes just to slam into something. "The fuck I just run into," I say as I stand up and put a hand forward to feel a wall, keeping my hands on the wall I feel for the edges.
As I find the edge and look around, I see a desk with a computer and an office chair. 'Well, I'm either in hell forced to do paperwork for all of eternity, or I just found something I wasn't supposed to.' I think for a second, 'this is really suspicious, but I don't know if those things can follow me or if something worse is down here.' Then, I look at the computer, 'it may be a trap, but it's the only change in the baseline I've seen. It's this or more aimless wandering.'
I sit in the chair and look at the desk and computer. The desk is wooden and looks like an ordinary office desk, and the desktop seemed to be made out of glass with a single blinking light shaped like a fingerprint in the center.
"Well, here goes nothing," I press my finger on the screen. The light expands to fill the screen and the screen begins to crack. Jerking my hand back as the desktop shatters, I fall away from the desk as a silvery-blue liquid starts to gush out of the cracks.
I decide I've seen enough and scramble away when the liquid shoots forward, wraps around my leg, and then pulls hard. I slam on the ground and look back to see the liquid climbing up my leg. Quickly I kick off my shoes and start to remove my trousers, as I try to peel it off me using my trousers as a divider between me and the strange liquid.
Then I feel the cold liquid wrapping around my ankle, seeping into my socks and the coldness against my skin. I feel a slight pinch in my ankle as I continue to fight this thing, but a burning pain envelopes my ankle and slowly spreads up my leg. It stops trying to climb up my leg and seeps down my leg, having found its entry point.
Looking at my leg, my veins are pressing against my skin, like a bodybuilder flexing. The more liquid that pours in, the farther up my leg it goes, followed by the pain. I try to pull it off me using my trousers, but it slips out of my grip every time I pull at it. The pain clouds my mind, and I can't think of a way out of this.
That ungodly pain reaches my stomach, and I scream at the top of my lungs in agony. As it spreads throughout the rest of my body, what's left of my coherent mind begs and pleads for the sweet release of unconsciousness or even a second death. Sadly, neither ever comes as I lay there, screaming and writhing in pain. My vision fills with blue spots, quickly appearing and disappearing. I notice through the pain the spots are starting to form boxes, some with incoherent writing.

"Why do I feel these are all from video games or TV shows, and why are the choices so limited?" I say.

"... The nature ability is class D, and I don't recognize it from anywhere. Are there abilities only given by the system? What is the system? Why did you answer that question but not my other questions? Are you sentient?" I ask. Getting no answer, I sigh and look over my options.
If Chakra is from Naruto, then the learning curve is extremely high, and without a teacher, there is a chance I won't be able to utilize it effectively. If it's the Dragon Ball Ki, it can be used and trained to a practical level at any stage of life but can fall just as fast if not maintained. The Conduit ability is obviously from Infamous, but the ability relies on the element I get randomly. There is no guarantee it'll be useful or a commonly found element. The Assassins Creed Eagle Vision is interesting but is limited to a detection ability at the start. I don't know what the Genius ability is from, but the benefits seem straightforward and useful.
I decide to go with Genius Mind and Ki Control.
The versatility of Ki and the genius mind ability should let me deal with any threats and grow in strength.

There were many choices, but in the end, I chose Tiger with the tail trait, not wanting to be taken out by a dog whistle or deal with infections. After that, I decided to make myself slightly more tan and go with 6 ft 4in (when fully grown), Scarlet black hair with white stripes, and shiny diamond colored eye—setting me up with a greek god-like build and a handsome and kind-looking face.
"And now I see the world through diamond eyes," I sing to myself with a chuckle. A pang of loss hits me in the chest as I reminisce about how my sister hated puns, but my niece would giggle uncontrollably at them. 'I hope they're ok,' I think before shrugging off the emotions.
After playing with the custom proportions a bit, I go to set my age. An idea pops into my head. If I can select when I join the world, I might be able to change things like Summer's death or Emerald joining Cinder.
I ask, "Will I be able to join the timeline at the time I choose." Not getting an answer, I decide to take a gamble.
I set the age to three.

I think in circles for a few minutes before realizing it's pointless right now, 'I just don't have enough information or any way to get it right now.' "Ok, ok, back on topic, I would like to join a year before Summer Rose's death and make it a mission to save her," I say. Hoping I can make my own missions.
