Chapter 12 - Master Orsley

Namara stepped forward then knocked on the door several times. She waited, but for a moment there was no reply from within. There wasn't even a sound to indicate life was present.

Maybe Master Orsley wasn't home?

Namara knocks again. This time she also called out the name of the owner of the house. "Master Orsley? Are you in there? Please open the door!"

Only then did the door begin to open showing an old man with long hair and bushy sideburns. The old man squinted at Namara. It looks like he just woke up.

After a while, the man grunted and prepared to close the door. However, Namara didn't let that happen. She immediately shoved her feet against the door.

"Come on, you must still remember me. I want to talk important things with you," persuaded Namara.

"Of course! Who doesn't remember a bad girl like you?!"

Namara just chuckled at Master Orsley's scolding. She sneaked in without the owner's permission. The old man was indeed someone Namara already knew.

Master Orsley was someone of mixed blood between the Black Wings and the Sun Clan. In the past, he was one of the teachers at the academy where Namara lived. However, three years ago that man left the academy for no reason.

Namara doesn't know the reason. She didn't ask either. Talking about the academy, Namara felt a little emotional.

She entered the academy when she was 7 years old and lived there for nearly 11 years. She remembered that when she had just entered the academy, it was Master Orsley who had helped her a lot. The old man took care of her a lot more than the other teachers.

Living for more than 10 years at the academy makes Namara quite close to Master Orsley. The academy disliked her a lot, but Master Orsley didn't.

In the past, Namara's identity was closed. Nobody knows if she is the daughter of the head of the Sun clan. There are only a handful of people who want to be friends with a weak human like her.

Namara sat on a stone chair in the house. Even though the house was small and contained only a few pieces of furniture, Namara didn't find it strange. She still likes it.

"Why did you come here?" asked Master Orsley.

"I want to ask your help," replied Namara. She looked at Master Orsley and frowned. "Why wasn't I welcomed at all?"

Master Orsley sighed. He closed the door and sat across from Namara. "You went here alone? How could you have the courage to go to the Black Wings clan without a friend?"

"Old Orsley, I left the academy for a long time," said Namara.

"Since when? Since the head of the Sun clan died? Did you come here to seek revenge?"

Namara nodded without evading or arguing. It took Master Orsley by surprise. "Don't be crazy! Are you looking for death ?!"

"You just think about it. How could I just let my parents die?" Namara suddenly widened her eyes. "You already know my parents are rulers of the Sun clan?"

Master Orsley chuckled proudly. He said, "Of course you do. Your father gave you to me himself."

"Is it true?" Namara doesn't know about this. She squinted trying to investigate the old man.

"I didn't lie to you," said Master Orsley. "Your father came to me and told me his daughter was going to enter the academy. I was asked to look after you and .... something like that."

Then Master Orsley smiled. "I am sorry for their death. However, I would not agree if you went to take revenge for them. Stupid. Do you think with your weak strength you will be able to do such dangerous things? Don't harm yourself."

Since seeing Namara who was only 7 years old, Master Orsley had already considered her like a grandchild. The girl was very weak, many disliked her and tried to bully her. Of course, Master Orsley couldn't bear to just let it be.

Namara sighed. "But you can't stop me, Old Orsley. Come on, I have plans of my own," she groaned.

"Stubborn. Get out of here! I won't be of any help," said Master Orsley.

However, Namara didn't want to go. She remained seated in her place and tightly gripped the stone table that was there. She was afraid that Master Orsley would use his strength to drag her out.

"You …." Master Orsley was at a loss for words. He took a deep breath and finally asked, "What do you want, Girl?"

Even though Namara was now over 20 years old, Master Orsley did not consider her a mature woman at all. To him, Namara is still like a little girl who needs to be told a lot.

"Can you get rid a scars?" asked Namara hopefully.

"You think I'm someone from the Thousand Star clan ?!"

Namara scratched her head which was not itchy. "Come on, I know you can do it."

Master Orsley looked at Namara in surprise. Why did she ask him to get rid of the scars? He becomes suspicious of what Namara is planning.

"You must be suspecting me," said Namara. "But I'm not going to tell," she added.

Master Orsley looked at her sarcastically. He did not see any scars on Namara's face, nor her arms. Very weird. Even so in the end, he wanted to help.

Slowly Master Orsley walked over to the small cupboard in the corner of the room. The lacquer was opened and the old man took out a small box made of wood. The contents are unknown.

He took the object and put it on the table. "Luckily I still have this," he said.

"What is this?" Namara tried to open the box and immediately saw the gray powder stored in it. She stared at Master Orsley with a look of protest.

"Seriously. Did ... you give me ashes?"

"Ashes your ass!" Master Orsley snorted.

"This is the magic powder I got from the elders of the Thousand Star clan. Mix it into the water you bathe in. I can't guarantee it will work, but you can try it."

Namara chuckled happily. "You are the best!" she exclaimed. She immediately pocketed the box, afraid that Master Orsley might change his mind.

"Did you just come here because you wanted to ask for my help? If you didn't need my help then you wouldn't have come to visit me?" asked Master Orsley, who was a little displeased.

"Why? You must have missed me, right?" Namara chuckled. The old man enjoyed pretending. He must have missed her but was embarrassed to say the truth.

"I don't know where your house is. Luckily there is a little girl who wants to tell you," said Namara.

Actually what Master Orsley had said was very accurate. Maybe she won't come here. She didn't want to take the risk of being caught having a special relationship with the old man.

After all, she didn't know what the future would bring. What if she failed to annihilate the Black Wings Clan and instead they retaliated by destroying all of her relatives?

She has no idea.

"Then I'll go now. Just pray that I'll be successful. When that day comes then I'll come here and treat you to grilled meat," said Namara happily.

"Nothing special about grilled meat. You come in good enough for me," replied Master Orsley.

Namara smiled a little. "Old Orsley, take care of your health!"

After saying that she immediately walked away, leaving Master Orsley stunned.
