Chereads / How To Summon A Monster Girl / Chapter 4 - Escape

Chapter 4 - Escape

The two nightmare like creatures looked at eachother. The tree monster choked up, as if trying to speak. The fuggly moved its head up and down. Then they both stepped aside. Dale held the saccubus closer, still not holding any trust in the two demonic creatures.

"I'll kick the door now." Dale warned.

After raising his leg, kicked it with all his might, but he made sure he didn't squish succubus girl in the process. It was a concept he learned as a child. There had been a halloween party at Arkenfel elementary school and he pushed a door open. The flimsy popcycle stick house broke in his grasp. He only cried for a few minutes before Mrs. Lemons, his second grade teacher, agreed to help him build a new one. In a samilar way, it would be possible to hurt someone.

They exited the gassed room. Expecting to see the same gaurds again, Dale was surprised to see more vault rooms. Another larger door covering their escape.

Dale put down the Saccubus.

"What are you going to do?" She asked.

The moment she finished, the room behined them went ablaze in an instant. Almost like a sudden pop.

The tree grabbed Dale by the shoulders and gave a deathly scream. Then it pointed its curly twig hand at the large door. Dale felt like his heart would pound right out of his chest. If he was ever going to die of a heart attack, now would be the time.

"Alright! Alright!" Dale said.

He readed himself into a tackling position. More pipes began to come down from the cieling. Dale broke into a sprint. His shoulder met the door and it burst open. He felt the momentum he lost and he hit the second door after that, but the next one didn't break. It only bent a bit at the center. At least there was normal light and not just the red light. Dale was greatful for that.

What he noticed was that the whole area were compartments. They were designed to close and destory whatever they held in. At least if needed. Essentially the whole facility could be made of blocks and they were all closing off according to their positions. Like a lizard losing its tail to save itself.

Dale's shoulder was in pain, and his kneese felt like they had nails burried into the caps. He couldn't do this forever.

Dale kicked the door down. He noticed they stopped opening creature vaults. Maybe they figured out he was able to recruit monsters and didn't want to risk any escaping. Dale grinned at the thought.

Dale looked back at the giant fuggly. It looked stitched together with intensines sticking out of its belly. The Saccubus was looking at him too, with a worried expression.

"You, are you strong enough to break the doors?" Dale asked.

The fuggly turned its head slowly from side to side.

"Crap, I'm getting beat really bad..we might die here guys. I'm just being honest." Dale said.

The Saccubus began weeping again. Hugging the same black book even harder.

Dale managed to punch through five more doors, before he felt like he just ran two miles. His arms and legs were throbbing and aching. He was fighting for his life and this is what he imagined that felt like. At times he would see a cat toy with a mouse's life. The mouse would look so tired and hurt, yet the cat would still hit it. Letting the poor mouse die tired, hurt, and afraid. It was saddistic.

Dale heard a loud pop behined him. Another room had been burned clean.

Dale had gotten himself through seven doors by convincing himself this would be the last one. Now he was looking at the tenth door. He punched through. The room before him was large. Large glass tubs filled with screwed up organisms were in each one. The tubs were about ten feet tall and five feet wide. Dale noticed the figures hiding behined them.

"I can see you guys.." Dale said.

"Put your hands behined your backs!" One shouted like a military instructor.

"How about you let us leave. If you kill us, that Godzilla girl is gunna fuck you all up." Dale said. He felt his hands growing sweaty. The truth was simple. He was afraid.

"You're bluffing. I'll tell you one more time. Surrender or you'll all be killed." The guard said.

Dale studied the tree and the fuggly. Then at the saccubus, who was still holding back tears. She still held the black book like her life depended on it.

"Alright. Here's the plan. I'll fight, but you can help if you feel like you can…if you're useless, then just stay down." Dale said.

The tree growled at the 'useless' part.

The three monsters hid behined a glass tube and all the gunmen revealed themsleves. Still by some form of cover, but they now had their guns aimed at Dale.

He counted at least nine of them.

"You love the aliens? Love how they wreck our cities?" Dale said as he walked close to a gaurd. The man fired and Dale felt the vibrations of the bullets. Luckily his armor was strong enough to shield him, but for how long?

"Do you swear allegiance to the people or the state?" Dale asked. He didn't give the gaurd a chance to answer and struck his face with the side of the assault rifle. Knocking him out or killing him, Dale didn't know which one.

His mother and father had always been the religious type. So Dale had grown up with high standard morals. To some degree, they'd become a part of his daily habits. Although he'd loosened up a bit. So he'd kill if he had too, but if it could be avoided, that would be great too.

Dale saw the next guard. Hiding by a metal box of some kind, right next to another tube.

As he got closer, he noticed the man was already dead. There were roots coming out of his nostrils, eyes, and ears.

"Wow." He stepped back. He knew the tree had finally helped him.

He looked over at the next door. It was massive with two blue lights above it.

Dale noticed a panel with a few buttons. He pushed the red one with an arrow pointed up. The door began to open and light beamed in through the cracks.

"Lets go!" Dale shouted.

When his eyes adjusted. He saw multiple guards waiting for him. There were two black armored trucks with mounted guns above them. Every gun was aimed at Dale's direction.

"Stay back!" Dale shouted.

In that moment he began to have second thoughts. Momories of his brothers and sister. Then a memory of Dale walking around tall grass. Looking for Easter eggs as his father watched on the side.

Dale looked back and saw that the three monsters did stay back. I'm gunna die, Dale thought. Everything would amount to nothing. He had grown up just to be a bum for a few weeks. Going to school and working a job. He did enjoy playing video games and watching anime, at least he charished a few things.

"And, fire!" A voice shouted like some kind of execution order. Under that order, they all began to shoot.
