Adeline's Pov~
I informed Arsenio that I was boarding to Italy, the previous night. He was already a little guilty that he left me in the middle of the day.
So he thought of spending some time later with me, but after I told him about my trip, he was a little disappointed. And we hadn't talked about our kiss, yet. So right now, we were not in a romantic relationship, yet.
He already had a spare key to my apartment, so it was not going to be a problem for him to stay at my place anytime he wishes.
It was twenty-five past eight in the morning and I was waiting in the lobby of my apartment building. I was extremely anxious and my leg was continuously bouncing, I couldn't gain control over my legs.
I had bought some men's clothes yesterday evening because I have only suits. I had this very bad feeling about this entire trip and for some unknown reasons, I felt like crying.
Had you ever re-experienced that feeling of your parents dropping you in the school for the very first day of your kinder garden? I was having that same feeling right now, and my stomach was twisting in a weird way.
My thoughts were interrupted by a black SUV that parked in front of my building with a screech. I gulped with a restless feeling. My palms were cold and sweaty. Jedrick exited the car and approached me. I stood up to my feet.
He was wearing a black button-down shirt and blue jeans. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and the shirt fitted him like a glove, showing his hard and masculine form. The first two buttons of his shirt were undone. His hair was messy as usual.
He was wearing a silver watch on his left hand and his fingers were adorned with rings. His ears were adorned with a single diamond-stoned earring. This was the first time I was seeing him without a three-piece suit.
My jaw dropped at the sight of him. He looked a hundred times more intimidating than before. He looked like he was part of some gang. He looked like a bad boy and that, too a hot bad boy.
"Mr. Sandros, ready to go?" he asked me and tucked his hands into his pockets. There was no emotion on his face, so I couldn't guess what was going in his head. I wanted to say 'no' to his question, I could feel that something was about to go down the drain.
"Y-Yes," I stuttered.
"Wonderful! Let's get going, then." I nodded my head and tried to lift my two spinner bags at the same time since there were steps in front of us, but I couldn't lift them. I think I had over-packed since I had no idea of how long I would be staying in Italy, besides, he was the one who asked me to pack as much as I could.
He shook his head at me and heaved a sigh at my pathetic attempt.
"For a person, who is not ready to accompany me, you sure did a good packing, but I haven't asked you to pack your entire apartment, Mr. Sandros." He told me and lifted my spinner like it weighs nothing. I could see his biceps bulge and his veins were protruding in his arms.
"Sorry," I whispered, softly. He didn't say anything and I followed him like a downtrodden puppy.
After my baggage was deposited inside the trunk, we departed to the airport. The entire time I was fiddly and squirmy on my seat. We were accompanied by Michael to Jedrick's private plane.
His private plane was so posh and extravagant. There were only two flight attendants and two pilots, besides the three of us. I sat opposite my boss while Michael sat far away from us.
"You seem restless," he noticed.
"I am fine," I whispered without looking at his face. He didn't say anything after that, he just observed me, and my legs were bouncing with nervousness. We were interrupted by the pilot's voice.
"Your attention, please! We will be taking off to Romania in five minutes. Please do buckle up your seat belts. Thank you." Came the announcement.
"Romania!" I yelled at Jedrick with wide eyes. Didn't he tell me that we were boarding in Italy, yesterday? He didn't seem to be disturbed by my little outburst. He looked cool as a cucumber. That means, he already knew about it. He planned everything from the start.
I stood up from my seat as if my ass was caught on fire. I pointed my trembling finger at him, accusingly.
"You lied to me! You know from the beginning that we are not boarding to Italy, don't you?" I asked him with a shocked face.
"Mr. Sandros, take a seat," he told me calmly. He was not bothered by my trembling form. I was literally shivering. It was a bad idea. I shook my head and hid my face with my palms.
"Why are we going to Romania?!" I scowled at him.
"You're my secretary. I don't need to explain anything to you." He too stood up to his feet. His voice was harsh and I looked up to his towering figure with a fearful face. He looked fierce and his nostrils were flaring with anger.
Suddenly, the flight took off which made me stumble forward. Jedrick caught me on right time and wrapped his arms around my waist. He took a seat immediately and pulled me on his lap.
"Let go off me!" I yelled at him and struggled with him. He groaned as if I was killing him. His grip tightened around me, which made me squirm on him like an eel.
"Stop it!" he ordered me, but I didn't care and I kept on struggling and I tried to pry his muscular arms around me. I felt him grow under my derrière, my eyes widened and I turned my head to look at him.
He was breathing hard. Our nose was almost touching each other. His dark eyes darkened further. It looked pitch black, there was no white present, his entire eyes were black. My heart was beating so fast. He was not a human.
My stomach dropped to its pit. I felt like everything was closing around me. He looked like a demon. I was having a panic attack, my chest heaved with short breath.
"Your eyes…" I heaved and that was the last thing I remembered before I was completely blacked out.
