I woke up to the sound of some announcement. I blinked my eyes to clear my vision, I was having a headache. I observed my surroundings and I noted that I was in a small bedroom. I was still on the plane.
Was it a dream? But it seemed so real. His eyes were pitch black, even his sclera was pitch black. He looked like he was possessed, more like a demon from hell. I was not the most spiritual person on this earth but it seemed so real.
He looked extremely, angry. He looked like a different person. I had never seen this side of him and it scared me shitless. I was so confused whether it was a dream or not? But, it was not possible for someone to change their eyes like that, right?
Maybe, it was the stress that was getting up to me. I do remember fighting with him before I passed out. Probably, it was the stress, I concluded.
The door clicked open and there stood the devil with regret in his eyes but his ever so stoic face overshadowed the emotions in his eyes.
"Let's get to our seats, the plane is about to land." He stated, ignoring the previous incidents as if nothing happened. I decided to stay low because, I knew, I was not going back to my home even if I cause a ruckus here. I should be very careful from now on.
We both went back to our seats and buckled up our seat belts. After the flight landed at Transylvania, we both were escorted to his black limousine by Michael. Many men in black suits were already waiting for us when we arrived near his car.
Michael took a seat beside the chauffeur while we both took the back seat. Our car was guarded by many SUVs to our front and back, I felt like I was traveling with a president but in reality, I was traveling with my mafia boss.
There was an awkward silence around us. I could feel him take a glance at me occasionally, but I didn't dare to look at him.
I still had no idea why he lied to me about going to Italy. I was already very anxious about staying with him and when I came to know that he lied to me, I freaked out. I had no idea why we were in Romania; I hope everything ends well for me.
Our car entered into a forest premise, there was not even a single building or a home here. Both sides of the road were covered by dense forest or sometimes it was covered by meadows and hills.
Our car stopped in front of a sky-high gate connected with concrete walls. The gate looked rustic. It looked like we were entering into some old castle. The gate was opened by some guards. Unlike his mansion back in Seattle which was instilled with technology, this place was ancient.
And I was not wrong about the castle part. It looked like it was built in the 1300s and this place could be taken as a perfect example of Romanian architecture. It was built with concrete stones and it had a gothic touch to it.
The garden looked mystic and dark. There were no flowers, just some ancient-looking trees. I felt like I was entering into some, Dracula's castle. A maid opened the door and we three entered his castle, while the rest of the guards took their positions outside.
As soon as we entered, a furry beast launched itself on my boss. I was frozen to my spot at the size of his dog. It was huge. Its head almost reaches my chest and I was five foot five for god's sake.
"Down boy, down!" Jedrick's eyes softened at the sight of his furry friend. He petted the fury ball with adoration and his pet licked his face and sniffed his hands while wiggling his tail in excitement.
Even his pet was extremely respectful towards its master. It rounded its owner and bounced on its hind legs as if it was seeing him after a long eternity.
The dog was a different breed that I had never witnessed in my entire life. It looked scary and feral, but at the same time, it was extremely, loving to Jedrick.
"I missed you too, little guy." He smiled at him and kneed in front of him, scratching behind his ears. Little boy? His pet was anything but little. Don't get me wrong, I love pets but I was extremely scared of dogs that were bigger than me, especially, the pet that was a bit on the feral side.
Suddenly, his fury friend sniffed the air and turned in my direction. My eyes widened and I didn't dare to breathe. His little guy snarled at me as if I was a threat to his master. His teeth looked razor-sharp and it was dripping with saliva.
His eyes were completely dark there was no white part in his eyes. He looked extremely bloodcurdling. What type of breed was he? He barked at me which made me jump up in fright.
"Err…s…sir?" I stuttered and looked at my boss for help. He stood up to his full height from his kneeling position and gave me an amused look. His furry friend kept on snarling at me and it looked like it was about to pounce on me.
"Yes, Mr. Sandros." He asked me coolly without a care in this world.
"Y-Your pet…" I was cut off by his pet launching at me which made me release a blood-curdling scream and I ran around Jedrick like a scaredy mouse.
"Make him stop!" I shrieked at him and clutched onto the back of his blazer.
"Please! Do something!!" I pulled Jedrick in front of me to shield me from the attack of his furry beast.
"Today, you disobeyed me and drove me crazy to the point where I lost my cool. I think you are very much capable of handling your problems, Mr. Sandros. Besides, he is a little ray of sunshine, don't you think." His voice held a tinge of mockery and I was correct, he was smiling at my discomfort.
A little ray of sunshine, my ass!
"This is not the time for your revenge, sir!! Please stop him from chasing me. I will obey you at any cost!" I promised him and pleaded with my eyes, giving him my best puppy eyes.
"You look scared, why don't you say hello to my sweetie pie." He suggested and grabbed me by my hand and pushed me to his front.
"Oh my god! Please…" I whispered with wide eyes. His pet first snarled at me then he began sniffing me.
Jedrick burst out laughing at my discomfort which made me stiffen in shock. If it was any situation I would have observed him, but right now, I was frightened to my core.
His laugh was carefree and it sounded nice. I never heard him laugh and I was telling you it was the sexiest thing.
The entire time I didn't dare to breathe. I pressed my back closer to Jedrick's front and grabbed onto his hand as if my life depends on it. Without consciousness, I interlaced my fingers with his slender one and squeezed the life out of him in anticipation.
After severe sniffing, his pet gave me a one-long lick to the side of my face. I blinked repeatedly and looked down at the furry creature. He sat on his hind legs and looked at me with curiosity. His tongue was hanging out at the corner of his mouth and he waggled his tail at me.
He barked at me and looked at me with expectation.
"Uh…" I really don't know what to do, so I slowly raised my hand hesitantly and petted the top of his head with awkwardness.
His pet barked at me and stood up from his spot and rubbed itself on my leg. I petted him with confidence and scratched him behind his head.
"Seems like he likes you," Jedrick grumbled with disbelief as if this was the first time he was seeing his pet accepting someone that was not him.
"What was his name?" I asked him as I smiled down at the furball. I sat on the carpet and he leaped on my lap, wagging his tail. Maybe, he was a big softy inside this feral appearance. I thought to myself.
"Cerberus," he told me as he glared at the cutie that was cuddling on my lap with its eyes closed as I pet him.
"Isn't it the name of the hound of Hades?" I asked him. He looked at me with surprise.
"What do you know about Hades?" he seemed to be curious to know about what I think.
"I think he is hot." I blurted out without thinking that I was disguised as Reynold now.
"Hot? Really? I would have never guessed." He told me with mirthful eyes. My eyes widened at my little slip-up.
"I- I mean my sister thinks he is hot, I have no idea about Greek mythology, she is the one who is interested in this stuff. Occasionally, she would say something about Greek gods to me." I answered him and diverted my eyes at Cerberus who pulled himself off my lap. His ears perked up and he ran out of the castle to chase something.
Well,
I stood up to my feet and looked at Jedrick who raised his eyebrows at me. I just shrugged at him.
"What else did she say about Hades?" he asked me like a child. He looked eager to know about my thoughts. In this case, my sister's thoughts.
"Why are you asking that?" I scrutinized my gaze at him with suspicion.
"Just curious,"
"She told me that he is the only gentleman among his brothers. She thinks that he truly loves Persephone and sticks with his wife, unlike, Zeus and Poseidon who often cheated on their wife. She wishes to have a husband like Hades." I told him with a shrug. He gave me a cocky smirk with a twinkle in his eyes.
"What?"
"Nothing," his smile was still on his lips and it seemed like he was enjoying the situation.
"Why are you still smiling?" I asked him curiously.
"Seems like you are forgetting who is the boss here, should I remind you, Mr. Sandros?" he asked me with a raised eyebrows but his smile never falters off his face. He looked playful and carefree.
"No thank you, Sir." I gave him a playful bow which made him shake his head at me. Our eyes were locked with each other and without breaking our eye contact, he yelled a name.
"Martha!" he called someone and immediately a maid appeared from the shadows. She was a middle-aged woman. She had this very serious face and there was this dark aura around her, so do everyone in this place. They all looked stoic.
"Show me him the room beside mine," he ordered her. I broke our eye contact first and looked down at my shoes. My heart was racing and I feared that he would hear my heartbeat.
"Sorry, master but the room is occupied by Michael right now. In fact, all the rooms are occupied, except for your chamber." She informed us.
