"Hades! Don't hurt her! Open the door, you have to see this!" Helena's voice came behind the door. Adeline adjusted her clothes at the sound of Helena. She looked disheveled as if she had rough sex with me and the thought alone made me to swallow.
I was having this sinful image of her in my mind and only my father could help me. I focused on Helena's words and frowned in her direction. I snapped my fingers together. The door opened and there stood my grim reapers aka devils.
Helena sauntered inside my room, followed by Grudgecous, Skull, and Victor. Adeline looked startled by their sudden intrusion and by my ability to use magic. Since she knew that I was a god there was nothing to hide from her. She moved a little closer to me, beside my bed, as soon as she saw them approaching us.
Helena was holding a document in her hand and she looked tensed and worried, even Victor looked tensed. He was the most playful grim reaper among them but he the most dangerous when he was angry. Helena stopped in front of my bed and I sat straighter on my bed and raised my eyebrows at her, indicating her to speak.
"She is innocent." That was the first thing that came out of her mouth and I could see, Adeline visibly relaxing by my peripheral view. She was standing near me and looking at our intruders. She didn't utter a single word. She looked confused by the entire events that took place this night.
Helena looked bothered; whatever she had read from my mail was definitely not good. She was the strongest among my grim reapers and she was smartest too. She was the only one who had the guts to call me by my name.
"I have checked the mail that Helios has sent you. It seems like she is trying to expose you to save the innocents but she didn't know that we only catch the sinners and punish them. Here is the printout of the mail that Helios sent you. See for yourself." She handed me the document and I took it from her with a frown and scanned the document.
After reading the information that was gathered by Helios, my mood visibly darkened and it seemed like, Adeline was used as a pawn to expose the higher powers. In most of this information, her editor was involved.
Mr. Graham? Who was this fucker? I thought to myself gravely.
I nodded my head at my grim reapers with a clenched jaw. Now, I feel very bad for thinking of scaring and thinking of punishing Adeline. I heaved a sigh and rubbed my forehead in frustration.
I extended my hand to Adeline who was standing beside my seated form and took her hand in mine. Her hand was so small and soft, it fitted my rough and big hand like a missing piece. I loved the feeling of her hand in mine. I stood up from my bed and looked at her apologetically. She understood how I felt and let me hold her soft hands in mine.
"I-I am sorry for hurting you." I apologized sincerely and she looked up at my face with shock. This was a side of me that I never knew existed until she came into my life.
I always had this stoic and serious face whenever I was around her when she was disguised as Mr. Sandros. I was a serious and intimidating person around everyone, even I was shocked that I could be so tender for someone and that too a human.
People would be so scared to even raise their voice against me and I was known to have a short temper and even Adeline was aware of that. All my life, I had dealt with the sinners and lived with my grim reapers and devils in hell. I didn't know the meaning of tenderness, I was rough, hard, stoic, and angry most of the time, so I don't complain her for being shocked at my words.
"Just don't try to scare me again." She told me with a small smile. I smiled a little at her statement. I placed my hand at the small of her back and guided her to the couch in my bedroom. We all took our seats and I sat beside Adeline.
"Adeline, can you say something about you and why you have decided to expose me?" I asked her softly and squeezed her hands in mine, assuring her that no one was going to hurt her. she took a deep breath and focused on me.
"I-I work as a Journalist at Premiere news station. Exposing your crimes to the public is a new assignment assigned by my chief editor to me. He told me that you are involved in human trafficking, and you kidnap children for a living and the evidence they showed me looked authentic, so I decided to take on this project." She told me and squirmed on her spot.
All eyes were focused on her. Helena looked like she was in deep thought. Victor looked so serious. Skull looked like he was about to murder someone. Grudgecous looked so calmer than usual as if he already knew who was behind all these things and believe me, we all do except Adeline.
"Is, Mr. Graham the one who has assigned you this job?" I asked her with a frown she nodded her head at me as if saying, yes.
"Did you notice anything strange about him when you take up this assignment," Helena asked her with an intense gaze.
"Err- I am not sure but he seems to be so weird and my CEO seems so interested in this. He is the one who proposed this assignment to my editor. Usually, we don't go after a business tycoon, this is our first time." She told me with a cute frown etched on her flawless face.
I shook my head at the direction of my thoughts. Focus, Hades. This was not the time to admire her, I scolded myself and focused on my grim reapers.
"Is it possible that Lucifer is involved here?" Grudgecous wondered aloud.
His suspicion made our heads turn in his direction. When I think about everything that was going around us without a doubt, I could say that Lucifer was involved in this matter but what was he going to gain from exposing my mafia life?
And my question was if he wanted to expose my mafia life he could have done it by himself since he had escaped from hell with the other fallen angels. That was one of the main reasons why I had dragged Adeline along with me to Romania.
What I couldn't understand was, why was he using Adeline in this matter? He knew something that I was not aware of. I may be the son of my father but I never spend my time with him. I spent my childhood in hell.
Lucifer may be a fallen angel but when the world was created and the prophecies were written, he was the only one who was beside my father assisting him in his work.
He knew many things that I and my brothers don't, and after acquiring the knowledge about everything from my father, he became selfish and wanted to become more powerful than my father. He turned evil.
Due to his greediness, my father punished him by cutting off his wings and chained him in hell to spend his eternity here. Now he had escaped hell with the help of one of his fallen who was still roaming on this earth.
With his escape, there was going to be big destruction and disaster about to come. Moreover, the gate of hell was opened by him and the biggest problem was it was present on earth, in Romania. There was a possibility of humans discovering it and I have to act fast before everything started to collapse.
"Who is Lucifer?" Adeline asked us with a confused look.
"Have you heard about Lucifer, the fallen angel?" I asked her slowly. She nodded her head in yes.
"He was chained in hell since he became a fallen with few other angels who had fallen from their grace," I told her with a somber expression.
"What do you mean he was chained? What about now?" she asked me with a puckered brow. I heaved a sigh.
"He is no more chained, he escaped the hell along with the other fallen and we have a bigger problem at our hands," I told her and stood up from my couch.
"What are we going to do about the hell's gate?" Victor asked me, as everyone stood up to their feet.
"We will visit there tomorrow." I declared. It was located to the east of Transylvania in the middle of a deserted place, under a mountain's cave. I hope we reach there before the humans spot it.
