After our little chat, Cerberus transformed into his real form. Oh boy! I thought that he was so big and intimidating when I first met him, but he was thousand times much bigger and scarier now. He had the body of a single dog but he had three heads.
He looked exactly the same way how he was described in mythologies. His eyes were yellow and snake-like. His fur was dark as the midnight sky; it was such a contrast to his eyes. His teeth were literally the size of me, it was sharp and dripping with saliva.
He gave me an adorable frown as if he didn't want to part away from me. I smiled at this big baby, and he bent his head to my height. I petted his snout.
"Let's go, Adeline," Jedrick told me from my behind. I could feel his heat radiates off him. he was always very warm. I could feel him even without touching or seeing him.
I always had this feeling of being protected whenever I was with Jedrick even when I thought he was a mafia boss. Cerberus whined when I dropped my hands from his snout.
"We will visit you as soon as possible, little guy." Jedrick placed his palms on his snout and closed his eyes for a moment, Cerberus became so tranquil. After few moments, they both opened their eyes, Cerberus was more composed now, and he looked strong and somber.
After bidding our farewell to Grudgecous, Skull, and Cerberus, we all parted our ways. Victor and Helena were heading to the countryside in search of a witch that leaves only Jedrick and me for the rest of this week.
We drove to a nearby restaurant for our dinner more like for my dinner. I learned that they don't need food or water for their survival but they eat for their disguise's sake. It was already half-past six in the evening. I was extremely exhausted to my bones with all the walkings even though Jedrick was the one who carried me most of the time.
The restaurant was cozy and aesthetic, there were several cars lined up on its parking lot. As soon as we entered the restaurant, the female species started to ogle at my ex-boss with lustful glances. Some were giggling at him with suggestive glances which made me annoyed to my bones.
I glared at a few and made myself closer to Jedrick but I didn't touch him. I felt like clawing their eyes out and feed them to the wolves. My glare didn't stop them from looking at him, but he didn't even spare them a glance, his gaze was solely focused on my face.
He was observing my every move and facial expression. Suddenly he looked down to hide away his lopsided grin. I scrutinized my gaze on him and raised my eyebrows at him.
"Why are you smiling?" I grumbled like a spoiled brat while throwing daggers at some teenage girls with my eyes. My question made him chuckle at me, which caught my attention and I turned to him. He looked amused.
"You don't have to glare at these females. No one is going to steal me away from you." He teased me with a smirk. My eyes widened at his words and I looked down at my feet with my flushed face.
"I-I am not glaring at anyone!" I shrieked. He boomed with laughter which made few heads turn in our direction. Suddenly a waitress rushed by our side and enquired about our seating, we chose a table near the window sill.
"Can you please stop? it is so embarrassing." I muttered under my breath and pinched his bicep to stop his chuckle. Yes, you heard me right; he was still chuckling at me.
"Jealousy suits you. Especially… if the reason is me." he whispered in my ear and pulled a chair for me to sit. My skin broke out with goosebumps at his hot breath. I hid my face with my palms and he kept on teasing me with a huge grin on his face.
"I am not jealous!" I yelled at him under my breath.
"I am not even attracted to you," I told him sternly.
"Sure. Then why don't you take off your hands from your face," he asked me with a smug tone.
"T-That's none of your business." I snapped at him, I could feel him smile at me.
A waiter came to take our order, and we both ordered our food, but I didn't take off my hands from my face the entire time.
"Adeline, it is okay, take your hands off your face. I won't tease you, I swear." I shook my head in no.
"Are you going to eat like this?" he asked me with amusement in his voice. I nodded my head in yes.
"Oh, come on, let me see your beautiful eyes," he told me with his husky voice, but I was too stubborn to obey him.
"Adeline, is that you?" a familiar voice made me peek through my hands which were covering my entire face.
I stood up from my seat as if my ass was caught on fire when I realized who the person was. I was so shocked to my core. As soon as I stood up, he gave me a bear hug as if he had missed me so much.
I was totally engulfed by his large muscular frame. He smelled nice and I instantly relaxed in his embrace.
"How are you?" He murmured against my hair. I wrapped my arms around his torso and muttered a fine. I pulled away from him and looked up at him with confusion.
"Arsenio, what are you doing here?" I asked him with a frown. I could feel Jedrick's inquisitive eyes on me. I was so scared that Jedrick would identify Arsenio's face. Because he had once visited our company with Caitlin, and let's say that the event didn't end up good.
"I am here on a business trip. Oh! He is your boss, right?" his gaze turned to Jedrick. A very angry-looking Jedrick, his jaw was clenched. His eyes held malice and distaste. His hands were fisted and he was breathing hard as if he was trying to control himself from murdering Arsenio.
"Yeah…" I trailed with worry.
"Hello, I am Arsenio, Adeline's boyfriend." He introduced himself by extending his hand for a handshake. I was frozen at his statement. 'Boyfriend?, that was the final straw for Jedrick. He stood up to his feet with a feral look.
